Rating: Summary: One sweet-@$$ horror flick Review: Evil Dead II is "2 Frightening! 2 Terrifying! 2 much!" Well, perhaps that's a bit over the top,but this is definetely one of the better installments of the series. In a basic hashout, we've got demon slayer Ash,played to a tee by Bruce Campbell, who was the sole survivor of the first attack launched by the Deadites, returning stupidly to that same remote boondocks-engulfed cabin in rural Michigan with some hottie to try and get a little, but before he gets the chance those same Jim Carrey-ish jibberish Sumerian passage deals have been recited and the vicious ghouls are at it again. The blending of stop-motion,anamatronic and puppetry FX are a kick-@$$ combo, the scene in which Ash takes on his own posessed hand almost had me changing my shorts and even with all the side-splitting comedy, director Sam Riami of DARKMAN fame wisely keeps the jolts and jumps in the right context.too. I'm used to doing my own reviews with a 4- star rating system, and under that I gave this DVD three stars(this includes halves)and I thus figured that under this one it'd get four by my standards. I just confused myself,so don't feel bad if after reading this revue you have no idea in hell what you just read. But still rent the flick.
Rating: Summary: BEST MOVIE EVER..............THE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This is the best movie ever.I usually don't like horror movies much, but this movie is to damn good to be horror. This is a horror comedy.Believe me this is a funny ass movie.I have yet to see the other two movies in the Evil Dead trilogy, but from what I hear,I think I will just buy them.I now worship Bruce Cambell and Sam Raimi as gods.I found myself laughing an average of every 5 seconds during this movie.Every time Ash screamed I pissed my pants with laughter.Perhaps I have a sick sense of humor, but I wouldn't have it any other way.So if you havn't seen this epic movie do so now.If not I hope you burn on the smoltering rocks of hell!!!!!!!!!!!!The reason I love this movie is because there is basically no plot.Through time I realized that is a good thing.By having no plot you don't have to think about alot, and you can therefore just enjoy the movie. From begining to end this movie just lets your imagination run wild!!!!!!I don't want to give anything away, but I do leave you with theise words of wisdom. .....We just cut up our girlfriend with a chainsaw, does that sound........Fine? -Ash
Rating: Summary: SAM AND BRUCE GET TOGETHER AGAIN TO KICK SOME MORE A**!!!!!! Review: I am just gonna tell you how much this movie rules......Uh...IT RULES! What else can I tell ya? Ash is at it again with his sawed-off and he's gonna kick some zombie a**. Dead by Dawn makes a huge mark on the horror genre and has been quite the influence on movies like From Dusk Till Dawn and other such movies. Sam Raimi can really disturb you with his weird-a** camera angles and different crazy-a** camera shots. Its good to see that a director puts more into his movie then whats needed. I had a wicked time watching this movie. Its a true crowd pleaser and after all yallz, aint that what movies like this are all about?
Rating: Summary: A bit overrated Review: I have to agree with the viewer from Pennsylvania below me. This movie isn't quite as good as all the fans say it is. It's funny for the forty minutes, but the second half lacks the laughs and just turns into a laughless blood fest. I did thoroughly enjoy this film's sequel, Army of Darkness, and felt that it was a lot better than Evil Dead 2.
Rating: Summary: One of the finest horror/comedis ever made. Exellent! Review: This remake of the cult classic Evil Dead is a fine piece of art. It is a perfect mix of horror, supense and slapstick comedi. Raimis odd and differnt camera angels creates a movie style of it 's own. Bruce Campbell is as always exellent as evrybodys favoirir bad guy hero Asch. the special effeckts is one of the best I have ever seen on the screen and the make-upp effeckts is a class of its own. Sam Raimis genius mind shows creativ and brillant fantasi. Evil Dead 2 is one of the finest movies you can have in your horror collection.....
Rating: Summary: Supersweet Film! Review: This is perhaps THE best film ever made. It's too good to review. Damn thoes to a medievil hell who disagree.
Rating: Summary: The perfect midnight movie Review: This movie is hilariously funny and creative. I guess it's technically a horror movie but I think of it primarily as a "comedy about horror". Bruce Campbell gives a performance that puts most physical comedians to shame and it's made even funnier by his good looks. He simply doesn't look like a wacky comedian. I'd recommend this film to anyone looking for laughs, originality, and just plain fun.
Rating: Summary: Bruce is back Review: Bruce (aka Ash) returns in part 2 of the series. This is the high point of the trilogy. A masterpiece (even Ebert, who seems 2 hav a vendetta against horror films gave this one a god review, so that should be an indication of how great this one is). And who could ever 4get the scene where Ash has a talk with himself after cutting up his girlfriend with a chainsaw.
Rating: Summary: I don't get it Review: Sure, there are a few great scenes in this movie (like the flying eyeball, Ash vs. his hand, and the scene at the beginning with Ash's undead girlfriend), but overall, it's not nearly as funny as people say it is. And the scene with the laughing furniture has to be one of the dumbest in cinematic history. Dead Alive is much, MUCH more gory and hilarious.
Rating: Summary: A must see horror/comedy movie!!! Review: This DVD was really funny and kinda violent go out and rent it or even buy it!!
