Rating: Summary: . Review: Although many die-hard Raimi fans probably consider it a sacrelige, I thought this was superior to the original. It isn't particularly different from the original, but has a better overall balance, an effectively played-up sense of style, some winning humor, and a more appealing, over-the-top hero in Bruce Campbell. And this is the movie he gets the chainsaw-arm in! Chainsaw-arm always beats no chainsaw-arm, I'm afraid. All the Evil Dead movies are good entertainment, but this is the best of the three.
Rating: Summary: Horror in the tradition of the Three Stooges Review: Sam Raimi deliberately fashioned this follow up to the Evil Dead as a tribute to the three stooges. Everything is so exaggerated and over the top that one cannot help but laugh. Also, some have commented that the beginning does not make sense because the first ten minutes seem to recap everything that happened in the first film. The rights to original Evil Dead were owned by a different company and Raimi could not use scenes from the first film to summarize what had happened. So what he did was film a ten minute introdution where we witness Ash and Linda go up to the cabin in order to bring audience members unfamiliar with the earlier film up on what was going on.
Rating: Summary: FUNNY AS HELL! Review: This movie was sooooo bad, it was a torture to watch. I bought it because of all the good reviews it received and as I was watching the movie, all I could think was, are these people crazy? What are they thinking? However, once the movie was over, I realized that I actually enjoyed it. This movie was one of the funniest horror comedies that I have ever seen. It was bad, cheesy and corny, but it was soooooo funny.
Rating: Summary: FUNNY AS HELL! Review: This was the corniest, cheesiest, and stupidest horror movie ever made, but it was hickarious.
Rating: Summary: Horror not, comedy yes. Review: When I viewed this movie I thought it would be a scary filmfollowing the first masterpiece. Well, I was wrong. The movie suckedand had pathetic special fx. I recommend only part 1 if you enjoy terror.
Rating: Summary: Easily the best of the series. Review: Ash is back in Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn for all you people new to the series there is no need to hesisitate in buying EVERY movie in the Evil Dead series. The whole series is great every one guarantees at least 1 laugh and yes, maybe even a scare. And if you've seen the first and heard the rumors this is NOT a remake of the original. Maybe people thought this because of the 10-20 minute recap of the series... Maybe they just didn't watch the movie. Anyway it's worth the 10 bucks so just click the little buy button already!
Rating: Summary: AWESOME HORROR Review: Always keeps you glued! This horror movie seriously does rock! Interesting story with the "book of the dead." Anyone for ghoul's eyeballs?
Rating: Summary: Best Movie Ever Review: No movie is as enjoyable to watch as Evil Dead 2. This movie combines horror and humor in a way that has never been matched, and every time I watch it I'm continually amazed. The situations Ash gets himself into are downright hilarious, and the gracious amounts of blood only add to the humor. The zooming camera effects and one-liners also give this movie an atmosphere unique to the entire trilogy. Please, Bruce and Sam, make a #4!!!
Rating: Summary: IT IS A SEQUEL!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: A fantastic film, best of the Evil Dead triology if you ask me. Some fantastic effects along with great comedy and some truly disturbing moments (the mirror anyone) make for a fantastic SEQUEL to Evil Dead 1. It astonishes me how many people say this is a remake when it clearly picks up right were Evil Dead 1 leaves off, minus the 10 to 15 minute recap to get people up to speed who missed the first one. Anyone who says this is a remake needs to watch the films again and actually pay attention.
Rating: Summary: This movie rocks! Dont watch it alone. Review: One of the best horror films ever made for its era (late 80s). I saw this film when it was in theatrical release and was totally blown away. Great visual effects, lots of suspense, plenty of gore and just the right amount of humor keeps this film rolling from start to finnish. Truly a cult classic. Sure its a little campy but its suppose to be. If you make it through this one I recommend you view the follow up, Army of Darkness. Just remember, if you ever stumble onto an abandoned shack in the middle of nowhere and find a book entitled The Necronomica, DONT READ IT OUTLOUD IF YOU KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOU!!!
