Rating: Summary: It's Your Decision! Review: We are always on the look-out for a good comedy; you know one of those movies that you can just sit back and gigle a while.
That was the reason we rented this one. I'm really not sure what to say about it, here we have Tom who thinks he is invited to a party with Lisa, however he finds out he is suppose to house sit while she goes to the party. Not a good idea since this house is one of those that you really don't live in, you just look at. Well, you get the picture.
Everything bad that can happen does, as different characters begin flooded into the house and poor Tom cannot stop the never-ending parade of disasters. I think the one girl that came over, who had been in an accident and her head was bleeding with I believe cheese curls stuck to it was about the last straw for me.
I guess this movie would be good at a party where everyone is a little tippsey or feeling good, but just to sit down and watch with your family........well....whatever happened to that cheese curls girl anyway? You get the picture.
Rating: Summary: Goofy and fun, but it seemed rushed..could have been better. Review: *MY BOSS'S DAUGHTER PG-13* When all was said and done, this movie was just that, a movie. I had fun with watching it, but it just seemed rushed. Perhaps it's bad editing or lame and predictable dialog, I can't quite put my finger on it, but the flow of the movie is rough and bumpy at best. I felt like I'd seen this all before. It has some very funny moments that make it worth the price of a rental. I wouldn't recommend paying full price for this though. Wait 'till the price goes down, way down. I paid about $8 for it and I got taken for a couple of bucks.
Rating: Summary: What makes this movie funny and good? Review: Alright first off all I understand why alot of people didnt like this flick but to be quite honest this is the most funniest laugh out loud movie I've seen in quite some time. The reason is the funny dialogue. Its one of those movies where you have to pay attention and not just look at and expect to laugh. This aint no Scary Movie but just like the Airplane movies and Naked Gun, there is alot of really funny written dialogue. Cudos to David Dorfman for writing the script and its jokes. Its all about the jokes ladies and gentlement
Rating: Summary: How Does the Title Loop in with the movie Review: although this movie was hilarious, i dont see how the title relates to the movie. THis movie is a must have! Youll lyao!!
Rating: Summary: Just What It's Meant To Be Review: Everyone needs to stop criticising a this movie just because it's not up for an Academy Award. A comedy is supposed to make you laugh and forget your problems for an hour and a half, and this movie does a great job of it. Anyone who says this is bad movie has probably never even tried to act or direct or write a script, so let it be what it is. Ashton is funny, the characters are funny...and there is a scene where a cheeto is stuck to someones head wound. What more could you ask for? I'd watch it again because it makes me laugh, which is the top criteria for purchasing a DVD. I wouldn't spend $20 to torture myself to sit through "Lost In Translation" again, that's for damn sure! So get some friends together and watch this movie...LAUGH and HAVE FUN. Don't worry about who gets an award!
Rating: Summary: Not bad, Ashton. Review: I didn't think this movie was as bad as a lot of reviewers are saying it is. My mom was even laughing on some parts and she doesn't laugh during movies that often. The plot is simple, but I think we need things out there like that. There were some funny parts in this, I don't know how anyone could have missed those. If you take this for what it is, then you can get some enjoyment out of it. But if you want a movie with a more complicated plotline, then you probably won't be interested in this.
Rating: Summary: Its a Zucker movie!!! Review: I don't understand what those who wrote the negative reviews were expecting. It was a movie made by David Zucker (you know Kentucky Fried Movie, Top Secret, Airplane!). It is not supposed to be Oscar worthy. It is supposed to be silly and stupid. No, it may not be as good as a few of his earlier movies but it was still zany and mindless fun. It was not supposed to be a romantic comedy, the "plot" was just a frame to hang all the weirdo gags on. Don't slam the movie because it wasn't "Just Married" or "Sleepless in Seattle." I think the best thing about this movie is that it sneaks up on you. Once you think you have the movie figured out, it surprises you by shifting gears. After the first 20 minutes or so you think,"Oh, its the standard simple formula of boy loves girl who he can't have." While that is a very small part of the movie, you suddenly are transported into a crazy situation where everything can and does happen. How can you hate the bit (pun intended) about Holyfield's ear? Or lines like "OJ is loose!" sending Nicole Simpson look-alikes running for cover. That's just hilarious. Give the movie a chance and do NOT compare an apple to an orange. This is not a romantic comedy...its a Zucker comedy!!! Silly, Zaney and pointless. Sometimes all you need is a good pointless (no strings attached) laugh.
Rating: Summary: Walk Out! Review: I got up and walked after 30 minutes into the film. I am so tired of movies portraying "responsible" characters against totally clueless characters who, in this movie, thought nothing of trashing the house, inviting extra people to spend the night, breaking household items, and totally disrespecting someone else's property. The "conflict" is irritating and insulting, not funny. There were too many scenes of broken tables and household valuables - good humor isn't that overdone! Many scenes seemed like a young pubescent's idea of a good fantasy - having two girls ask him to check their breasts for breast cancer or having a girl tell him she was going to strip tease for him in her bedroom - not anything believable. The bad guys were too bad; the good guys were too wimpy; the clueless were too clueless and most everything was overdone. I would give this a minus five stars if I could!
Rating: Summary: Come on...it's not that bad. Review: I had really no desire to watch this but somehow still managed. I know the majority of people out there really seemed to hate it but I didn't think it was all that bad. Some love him, some hate him, but truthfully, I don't hold any strong feelings for Ashton Kutcher either way. I recently saw THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT and while I didn't hate it I definately wasn't nearly as impressed as a lot of people I talked to seem to be. I will give Kutcher this though, he can make me laugh. He does so in this (and THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT for that matter when he had no arms). I think I somewhat enjoyed MY BOSS'S DAUGHTER because I was actually surprised at some of the dark, politically incorrect humor it got away with. I mean, it crosses lines with humor that a lot of recent movies wouldn't dare go and I commend it for that. There's some actually funny stuff here and a lot of good cameos from familiar actors to boot (Michael Madsen, Jon Abrahams, Dave Foley, Carmen Electra, Molly Shannon, Andy Richter, Jeffrey Tambor, etc). While not worth anywhere near the eight bucks or whatever it would've cost to see it at the theater, MY BOSS'S DAUGHTER does make for a funny rental to kick back and drink a few beers to.
