Rating: Summary: Great fun on the vacation from Hell! Review: This is one of my all time favorite comedies. Chevy Chase is wonderful as the hapless dad trying to provide his family with the perfect vacation. In their journey to the Disneyland-like "Wally World" they encounter many setbacks. It's a fun roadtrip guaranteed to keep you laughing!
Rating: Summary: CLASSIC COMEDY.......BUT........... Review: This is definitely a great classic comedy that keeps me laughing...but be warned about this DVD!! The picture quality is absolutely awful! Whoever transfered it to DVD should be ashamed. Buy the VHS, the pic quality is much much better.
Rating: Summary: Never buy fullscreen Review: I own a home theatre, 130" 16x9 sreen projection system. I never buy fullscreen editions. Get with the program!
Rating: Summary: Chevy Chase's Best! Review: One day when I was bored I went and rented some movies. Among them I got National Lampoon's Vacation. After watching it I rewound the tape and watched it again. This was one of the best comedies that I have ever seen. It isn't corny or stupid but a little bit more dark and daring. Chevy Chase stars as Clark W. Griswold, a man who decides to take his family on a cross-country road trip to Wally World in California. Beverly D' Angelo stars as Ellen Griswold who is more of a simple character but perfect for the part. From the beginning disaster strikes and never quits. This is defiently a must-see and must-own DVD. The only let down to the movie would be the lack of extras and full-screen format but that is not enough to even dent a great movie like this.
Rating: Summary: DVD's shouldn't even be offered in fullscreen Review: If you're spending all your money to buy a superior system to play your films on, then the films should be just as superior. Fullscreen formats are for tape only. When you buy a cheap copy, you should get a cheap copy. I agree with many here and WILL NOT buy this until they put the film out in WIDESCREEN. I want to see it the way it was meant to be seen. Sorry, another lost sale.
Rating: Summary: Great, great movie!! But I must chime in with the others... Review: FULLSCREEN?? I can't even imagine what they(Warner Brothers)were thinking by finally getting off their back sides and putting this classic flick out on DVD in FULLSCREEN format only? They have shown in the past that they can be hit-and-miss about this sort of thing. While Caddyshack was wonderfully presented to the public on DVD in all of its original aspect ratio glory...Spies Like Us was offered to us in FULLSCREEN format only on DVD. So for now, I am stuck saving my [money]for better things... Peace.
Rating: Summary: full screen? why even bother? Review: i have to concur with the the majority. this is a classic comedy and they reduce it to full screen. until they wise up and give it the treatment it deserves, count me out. morons.
Rating: Summary: Sorry, no sale here! Review: This has got to be one of the greatest and most enjoyable movies taking a jab at pure Americana. A true 5 star movie for all to enjoy; but alas Warner Brothers has determined that the buying public, you know the people that keep them in business, is not worthy of the original widescreen aspect ratio. I say among many others to vote with your wallet and veto this sale. If you really love this movie, save two bucks and go VHS.
Rating: Summary: Vacation Review: Watch this movie.. you can relate this movie to any road trip your family will ever take.. anywhere from car breaking down to fights in the backseat to sandwiches at Stop 'n Go... This is one of the funniest movie I have ever seen!
Rating: Summary: Warner Bros. just lost a sale Review: 'Chevy Chase stars in one of the wackiest comedy adventures of all time! You'll laugh as a cross country family vacation turns up side down when this tenacious clan run into every possible obstacle known to man on their way to Wally World'. Here's a movie I wouldn't mind having on DVD. But when I saw that it was scanned for full screen I said "no way". When I go to purchase a home video of a theatrical motion picture that was originally released in widescreen it had best be that way on DVD. If the studio wants my money they'd better get it right.
