Summary: More of a comedy, but funny as hell.
Review: "This... is my BOOM stick!" One of the many hilarious lines that Bruce Campbell says in this film, which is more of a comedy than a horror film, but the humor, action, and an amazingly improved performance from the main man, Bruce Campbell, make "Army of Darkness" the best film in the "Evil Dead" series. The film was directed by wizard Sam Raimi, and co-written by Sam and his brother Ivan. I loved this film because it finally gave Bruce Campbell the attitude that he appeared to be missing in the last two films. The film is also very accurate in Ash's assumption that the "primitives" around him in the mid-evil times he has been transported to, could never understand "alloys or things with molecular structures." The best thing about this film, other than the terrific brand of humor, is the action. The film is full of it--from turning Ash's beat-up Oldsmobile into a super-chopper to making arrows into old-fashioned bullets with a splash of gun powder. This movie is infinitely clever and exciting, as well as being extraordinarily entertaining. I recommend it to everyone.

Summary: The single greatest movie ever made
Review: I have never been to a film where the ENTIRE audience jumped out of their chairs screaming and cheering like at AOD. Bruce Campbell is the greatest actor in the last 100 years (amply demonstrated in Evil Dead II in the scene where he is attacked by his own hand). I also thought he was great as Brisco County Jr.. But my God! Did this movie ever exceed expectations! To everyone who worked on this, thanks for making a jewel.

Summary: Great little movie!!!!!!
Review: This movie rocks!!!!!!!!!! Not really very scary, but it has great dialogue and cool special effects. Bruce Campbell rules as Ash. The chick is really hot too. The movie is not very long but it packs a lot into 80 minutes. Rock on!!!!!!

Summary: Army of Darkness is wildly hilarious
Review: Okay, it's obvious that lots of Evil Dead fans felt a little betrayed by Army of Darkness because of its lack of horror elements and gore. But it is, IMHO, the funniest film in the series, therefore I consider it the best of the trilogy. (The Evil Dead is almost as good as AOD) I mean, you can give this film a one-star review, but you it's highly unlikely that you were bored by it. I was always entertained throughout the entire film and I found Evil Dead 2 to be rather dull at certain parts, especially almost the entire second half of the movie. If you're a mainstream viewer and you haven't seen The Evil Dead series, AOD would probably appeal to you most.

Summary: A comical movie
Review: Army of Darkness had a bigger budget than either Evil Dead movies put together, and yet some of the humor and the creativity got lost with a bigger budget. Although it was still comical, it didn't have the hilarity that the other two had, of course, the humor was more morbid in the first two. Bruce Campbell still gives a great performance as the heroic Ashe.

"You found me beautiful once" "Yeah, but you got real ugly." GRADE: B-

Summary: HAIL TO EVIL DEAD AND DEAD BY DAWN
Review: My god this is a WEAK entry in the great Evil Dead series. Evil dead and Evil dead II are both extreme horror masterpieces when all this one is is a piece of crap. Sam Raimi did absolutely TERRIBLE directing along with CRAPPY writing and THE WORST OF ALL ACTING AND THEE WORST SPECIAL EFFECTS ON THE PLANET....1992...Hell Jurassic Park was released in 1992. Now Compare FX. You people who gave this film 5 stars....you have NO idea what your talking about. I love the first 2 evil deads and this one puts shame on the series. Sorry Sam, dont play that tune again.

Summary: Sam Raimi's horror-flavored tribute to The Three Stooges.
Review: By far the most-polished entry in the Evil Dead series, AoD stands as one of the most clever horror-comedy hybrids ever to be filmed. Following Ash, hilariously overacted by Bruce Campbell, we are taken on a mind-boggling ride through a medieval land teetering on the brinke of destruction. Only Ash can save the day... by claiming the dreaded Necronomicon and banishing the evil once and for all. But it's never that easy and soon our dim witted hero accidentally unleashes a whole army of walking skeletons and a grand scale battle ensues (in a very Ray Harryhausen kind of way). Sam Raimi's energetic camera work has always been the high-mark of any of the Evil Dead installments, and AoD is no exception. Raimi's masterful use of editing and steadycam is a reason all by itself to see this film. But throw in Campbell's hilarious performance and you got a film that truly deserves it's cult status. Bring on Evil Dead 4!!!

Summary: This film was great
Review: This movie was great. The hell with the effects, it was Bruce Campbell who made this film. He could definitely give Deniro or Pacino a run for their money as 2nd coolest movie star (No one could EVER top Nicholson). Bruce Campbell made the film fun to watch, and gave me so many one-liners to use on my friends, who had never even HEARD of the Evil Dead series! I've read the original script, and I think the originally planned ending should have been used instead, but this was still a great flick. And Bridget Fonda... whoa.

Summary: Let's go!
Review: Sam and Ivan Raimi are the two biggest heroes of all time after writing this movie. I've seen countless people come to tears while watching this classic. Bruce Campbell displays a phenomonal acting talent as the lead character: Ash.There are too many hilarious parts to mention, but let me end this review with some words of wisdom from Ash: First you wanna' kill me,now you wanna' kiss me...BLOW.

Summary: Army of Darkness is even better than it predecessors
Review: I had a hard time deciding whether or not I wanted to watch Army of Darkness. I saw commercials around 1993 during the time of its theatrical release and it looked silly but funny. But it faded from theaters fast after an obscure box office performance. This convinced me that the film lost box office steam because of bad word of mouth, but then I found out that Army of Darkness had some of the highest tape and DVD sales in horror film history (even higher than the previous Evil Dead films) and it convinced me to buy the film. I wasn't disappointed, not in the least bit.

Despite it's mere 81 minute running time, this film provides more laughs than almost any other longer movie. It's silly and nonsensical and all this definitely helps. Bruce Campbell's performance doesn't hurt, either. I've read many reviews below complaining that Army of Darkness didn't have enough gore, but believe me, adding gore in this film would have been too distracting from its already dark enough humor.
