Summary: A consumate storyteller
Review: Pulp Fiction is now a classic. It is the most satisfying of Tarrantino's movies as he artfully weaves together a compelling set of stories into a riveting film. This film also saw the welcome return of John Travolta as a very hip hitman. But, what distanced this movie from other "art house" action movies was Tarrantino's consumate skills as a storyteller. "The Watch" was a wonderful piece, woven seamlessly into Bruce Willis' memorable role as the boxer.Unfortunately, Tarrantino has not been able to match this effort in subsequent movies. Pulp Fiction may go down as the Citizen Kane of the "thrill kill" generation. It brings together a great ensemble of actors playing their roles to the hilt. Samuel L. Jackson is fantastic as the Ecclesiastics-driven killer. Tarrantino may have made this look like an off-hand effort but there are few throw-away lines in this movie. He ties all his stories together with a keen eye for social commentary. He has given a strange and even beautiful meaning to the chaotic world of violence we now find ourselves associated with, a definite notch about the Peckinpah-inspired violence of Reservoir Dogs.

Review: i watched this because it was the only thing on. boy am i glad i made that decision. this is one of the coolest movies ever made and they don't skimp on the violence do they. it is a great film made with great improvement by a weird genius.

Summary: Just let it unfold ...
Review: People call this movie garbage. On first viewing, it may be difficult to understand what a fine film it is. I first saw it in 1994 and didn't really like it then. Now I love it. I urge those who are unsure to watch it again, and let it just sink in. How can you not enjoy those fantastic scenes which have a high re-watch factor - ie. the restaurant scene with Travolta and Thurman, and the breakfast scene where Jackson shoots the tenants. These are just two examples! DVD SUMMARY: Released countless times on DVD, this 2 Disc collector's edition offers more special features than earlier releases. What I still find odd is that the film quality is still disappointing. Apparently the original source has problems that can't be fixed. It's not a huge problem, but there still remains scenes which are not as sharp as they should be for a film that is under 10 years old. I've seen older films with pristine transfers.

Summary: one of the five best of all time
Review: Pulp fiction is one of the best movies ever made, period. The story, the sequence, the characters, the setting....what more could you ask for? Pulp Fiction, like the Godfather series, Scarface, Goodfella's and the Sopranno's deals with the underberlly of society, which is so compelling, and makes most normal people feel good that we don't live the kind of lives portrayed here, but wished we could to some degree experience the sordid scenarios that is the reality of these movies/tv shows, yet be able to walk away unscathed. Pulp Fiction has bad people, good people and bad people that redeem themselves. It shows a cross section of society that is on the outer fringe, yet those who are also out there that are still not beyond redemption, and those willing to stand up to the evil elements that are able to escape what could be their pitfall.
The storyline is so rich, the characters so intriguing, that this movie is not only good, but worth 10 viewings to catch some of the subtlties you might miss the first few times. The only reason this film doesn't have a 5 star rating is because some people review it that don't understand it, and therefore slag it, which is unfortunate.

Summary: Whoa! Sit back and take it in...
Review: I didn;t see this in the theatre and to be honest, I am not sure I could have taken it on the big screen. I ended up stopping the tape in the middle and going to bed. I might have even abandoned the film altogther where it not for my junior English students who were flabbergasted the next morning that I had... STOPPED WATCHING in the middle??? How is that possible they asked??? So, I not only watched the rest of the movie, but I rewound and began watching from the beginning again. What I saw with fresh eyes was a stunning display of ground breaking film. The out of order sequences, the deftly drawn characters, the interweaving of seemingly unrelated story matter, the way simple accidents contrived to create a far larger storyline... Just amazing. Truly amazing. Too violent for my taste and there was a copious amount of cussing I could have done without. But, in general, overall, a stunning film.

Summary: My Number 1 Pic of all Time
Review: Pulp Fiction inspired me to love cinema for all it is and can be. The story is superbly told, the characters all are distinct and noticable, and the dialogue makes you think you're sitting in a diner overhearing someone speak. For anyone considering purchasing this, do it. The movie is on of the best of all time, and it would be my only choice if I were to have to view one for the rest of my life.

Summary: Great DVD release of classic movie
Review: Pulp Fiction, now ten years old, is taking on the feel of a timeless classic. The dialogue is every bit as sharp and even though the movie has spawned imitators, nothing has since measured up. This is an excellent DVD to buy because the Special Features are really worthwhile. It has the standard making-of feature that s well done, but more impressive is the complete Charlie Rose interview with Tarantino and an episode of Siskel and Ebert after the release of Pulp Fiction where they talk about the Tarantino mystique. The disc also has a bunch of print reviews of the movie and other stuff you might like. If you love the movie as much as me, you won't go wrong with this 2-disc set.

Summary: Quintin Tarrentino made a mistake here.
Review: I like Quintin Tarrention movies. However, this movie stunk. I hated the ending, and I did not understand the ending which basically killed the entire movie. I like to be entertained. I don't want to be thinking about what the movie is trying to potray. Because this movie has so much silly symbolism and scenes that relate to nothing, this movie is a major mistake. However, with a guy like Quintin Tarrentino, he made so many good movies, he deserves some margin of error, its just that Pulp Fiction is his "error".

Summary: Perfect blending of 2 movies.
Review: This really is a collection of short stories put together into one melting pot. However, the stories intertwine with each other in some way. The 1st story involves two hitmen, played by John Travolta (his ONLY good movie), and Samuel L. Jackson (the man). For awhile, it shows them having an interesting conversation about fast food in Europe (Trust me, it works), and going off to kill a few idiots who screwed over their boss. After this, it goes into a story of a retired boxer who killed another boxer in a fight. The strange thing is, he is in aquatinance with the boss of the hitmen. You still with me? After that, a series of simple, yet really cool plot points follow, with some truly disturbing scenes. Certainly not for the squeamish, although fans of Resevoir Dogs should check it out. Also, Harvey Keitel is in his best role since Mean Streets, and almost steals the show. Great movie, great soundtrack, just great. Don't try to make a big deal out of the movie. It's just great.
