Summary: The comic storyline only tarentino can create
Review: director Quentin Tarantino revisits the seedier side of Los Angeles--following 1992's RESERVOIR DOGS--with this funny, violent, tongue-in-cheek tribute to the less "classic" side of filmmaking--the potboilers and capers, the Blaxploitation flicks and gangster movies. The film interweaves three tales, told in a circular, fractured manner, which only fully connect by the time the final credits roll. The first story focuses on Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson), two hit men on duty for "the big boss," Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames), whose gorgeous wife, Mia (Uma Thurman), takes a liking to Vincent. In the second, a down-and-out pugilist (Bruce Willis), who is ordered to take a fall, decides that there's more money in doing the opposite. The final chapter follows a pair of lovers (Amanda Plummer and Tim Roth) as they prepare to hold up a diner.Tarantino wears his cinematic influences proudly, bringing them to life in the ironically hip, self-referential 1990s. The result is a work that changed the face of independent cinema forever, making it a legitimate player in the Hollywood mainstream. The all-star cast steps into their roles with obvious glee, and Tarantino once again uses his soundtrack to up the "cool" ante yet another notch, making for a motion picture event that has worked its way into our national vernacular.

Summary: Quentin Tarantino's best before Kill Bill
Review: This classic by Quentin Tarantino was the first ultra-violent movie and it was fantastically well executed. An American Independent movie at its best.

Summary: not perfect, but really good
Review: Yes, Pulp Fiction is not perfect. There is far too many f-bombs, and I personally think we could've done without the rape scene, but never the less Tarantino is a wonderful writer/director, and although Pulp Fiction isn't his best movie {surpassed by Reservoir Dogs and possibly Kill Bill volume 1} but is a movie you should see. Our story begins in a quaint coffee shop, quaint until it is stuck up by two gun totting robbers. We then shift to a car driving down the road and we meet our two main characters Vincent Vega and Jules something. Their driving to retrieve a briefcase for their boss, but some people end up getting shot.
Change Scene, Vincent is going to pick up his boss's wife [Uma Thurman at her best] to go out to dinner. But there's a problem. Mia is addicted to cocaine, and ODs. Bad news for Vincent.
We are then thrust into the life of Butch, a boxer told to throw a fight, but when he kills his opponent he's on the run. But it's not that easy. He forgot his watch back at his old apartment. so he gos to get it and ends up in a pawn shop with a couple of truly messed up people.
We then return to the Jules and Vincent back in the apartment. They didn't kill one of the guys in the apartment, so they decide to take him to Marsellus, but Vincent accidentally blows his head off. A great movie, but as I said it's not perfect. Still, if you've never seen a Tarantino movie, I suggest seeing Pulp Fiction first. And as a side note, the soundtrack is absolutely wonderful.

Summary: Tarantino is the bomb
Review: Okay I had really low expectations. I mean John Travolta has never been a great actor and sometimes I question his existence as an actor but this movie was a carrer high for him and close for Uma Thurman. This is Quentin Tarantino's best movie.

Summary: We can really explore ourselves only as bad guys
Review: It rocks. It jumps. It moves. It's flashy and clever. The acting is excellent. The direction is interesting... I could write a book, but what I kept thinking was how much the audience worships not just the violence, but the power. How much they love the Fascist criminal, the mob boss who must be obeyed and shown loyalty to. Uma Thurman is just decadently sexy. John Travolta is amazingly lovable as a "low-rent" hood and Bruce Willis is believable as a prize fighter who turns the tables and wins the fight instead of throwing it (and, in an up-to-date spin, bets on himself-seems right! How come they never did that before? They probably did, I just missed it.). Samuel Jackson is interesting as the Bible-quoting black hit man.
Naturally they make us root for the bad guys; indeed the bad guys are almost always the heroes in the modern Hollywood. We can really explore ourselves only as bad guys. The pro-mo's for cigarettes, heroin, cocaine, booze and decadence are getting a little thin, however. A Hollywood movie, a commercial flick, is always a cliché. The art part comes from doing spins on the cliché, in putting a new twist on the old BS, on the old standards. Ironically interesting was the sensuous indulgence of dinner for Travolta and Thurman. He's shot heroin, she's done a few lines, they smoke some pot, they smoke some cigarettes, but they really get off on milk shakes and vanilla cokes, steaks and hamburgers. Poor Hollywood. They've done it all and now must find real indulgence in fat, salt, sugar and meat, which for the stars really is an indulgence. If your life span is only sixteen to about thirty-five, then the forbidden things really are fat, salt, meat and anything else that puts on the weight. Cocaine and cigarettes can't hurt you because by the time the ill effects kick in, your career is over anyway.

Summary: More than just Pulp Fiction
Review: You go into a Tarantino movie expecting irrevelent but thrilling dialogue, buckets of blood, spectacular writing and characters more real than you or me. Pulp Fiction delivers in every respect. It is pumped with energy and will keep you wanting more.
Tarantino has an original formula to movie making, he enjoys his films as much as the viewer. The soundtrack is reminiscent of Easy Rider, it sounds like someone's favourite songs put together for the sake of using as many great songs as you can. Still, there is a connection between the music and the moving action. A different piece of music could have changed the scene entirely. Tarantino has a flare for matching music with the action, proof is the "Ear Scene" in Reservoir Dogs.
The key element to the success of Pulp Fiction comes down to the writing. The story is non-linear, which can be difficult, but all loose ends are tied. You are not left with any questions about what might have happened to so and so. There is a feeling that you do wish to know a bit more, but that is just another demonstration of the skill in the writing. We are given enough to satisfy but there is that yearning to know that extra little bit. The dialogue is funny and fresh, more real than reality.
The only fault that I can see in the direction of this film is sometimes wanting to be something it is not. Tarantino's influence's are sometimes a little too obvious, and it takes away from the film. With such original writing, it needs a style that suits it a little better. It works most of the time but every once in a while you feel you are watching another director's movie. It's all too familiar. This is nit-picking though, and should not discourage anyone from renting or buying this flick.
This is probably the masterpiece of the 1990s, not as good as some profess but still a brilliant piece of work. It's entertaining and new, something that movies have been lacking as of late.

Review: I watched this last night. Boy, was I amazed! Pulp Fiction is the 2nd film by Quentin Tarantino, who also made the entertaining Kill Bill movies.
SPOILERS AHEAD
The story tells about a crime gang and their adventures. The first story is about one of the hitmen, Vincent, taking care of the boss's wife, Mia, while he's gone. [Mia is played by Uma Thurman, the same person who played The Bride in KB. She looks WAY different in this movie!] But, oops! Mia takes some strong drugs and passes out, with halarious results!
The second is about a boxer who betrayed the crime boss and is now hiding from him. Later, the boss and the boxer run into two Michael Jackson like rednecks! Uh-oh!!!!
The third has to do with the hitmen accidentaly shooting a person in their car and now they have to take it up to a friends. After cleaning it up, they go to a coffe shop, and run into two robbers!
A little note: I think the order of the stories are this: 3, 1,2.

The stories are SLIGHTLY out of order, mostly the third story. The swearing, well, lots! F words all over! Even the N word here and there! Pretty violent too.
The dialouge, BRILLIANT! Lots of spicy discussions and topics. Like candy. The acting is great too. Entertaining, amusing, action! This film rocks! If you haven't seen it yet, well do so, NOW! One of the best movies ever!

Summary: Truly a Great Movie
Review: This is one if not the greatest film I've ever seen. One part of the movie I like was that they never showed you what was in the case. Now picture if they had shown you what was in it, than it woudn't have been that great of a film. Well what do I know I'm just some crazy man wasting my time writing reviews that no one will read anyway. Oh well.

*this movie is brilliant not only because of the way in which it was put together (intertwining events, etc.) but because it is a splendid balance of comedy, drama, action, wit, satire, and is a throught-provoking masterpiece

Summary: Pulp Fiction (1994)~~~"Does he look like a bi***?"
Review: 'Pulp Fiction', by the great Quentin Tarantino, is probably my favorite movie. The acting, characters, and overall story are simply brilliant. When you see the movie for the first time you might get a little confused(i was), because it is actually three stories in one that all interwine somehow.The start of story is about two hitmen taking care of a little business. Later in that story one of those hitmen has to take out his bosses wife and show her a good time while he is away.After this the movie changes a little and now it seems to be a story about a boxer who has to flee the country trying to get away from his boss who he has just betrayed.After all this it goes back to the part with the two hitmen who have to call this specailist to help them get out of some trouble they had just gotten into. In the end the movie somehow all makes sense. You should definetly see it more than once to get a full understanding of it. Quentin Tarantino hits another homerun in this instant classic.
