Review: The new edition is finally released! As well as the special editions Jackie Brown and Reservoir Dogs at the same time. It's a great time to make your Dvd collection of the best director of the 90's, Quentin Tarantino. The new collectors edition soundtrack is also just released with 4 newly released tracks on it including an additional interview disc with Quentin Tarantino.

Review: The 1990's was a huge year for Writer, Director, Producer and Actor Quentin Tarintino. In 1992 he released his first major hit "Reservoir Dogs", in 1994 he released his Oscar winning "Pulp Fiction" and in 1997 he released the hit "Jackie Brown". (Not to mention his involvement in such films as "From Dusk Till Dawn", "Four Rooms", "Killing Zoe" and "Desperado"). But his greatest accomplishment had to be "Pulp Fiction". With jaw chewing dialouge, a dynamic cast and great directing, Pulp Fiction has deserved its "just rewards". The story actually tells three stories woven into one, including two "low rent" hit-men (John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson), a last chance prize fighter (Bruce Willis) and a loving couple of robbers (Tim Roth and Amanda Plummer). But that is'nt even the tip of the iceberg when it comes to who else is added into the mix. With other stars such as Christopher Walken, Eric Stoltz, Uma Thurman, Patricia Arquette, Ving Rhames, Steve Buscemi, Harvey Keitel and of course Quentin Tarintino. This film has such notable sayings as ..., "Royale Wit Cheese", "Thats thirty-minutes away, I'll be there in ten", "I'm gonna get divorced. No marriage counselling, no trial separation, divorced",
"Correctamundo!", "Oh I'm Sorry, Did I Break Your Concentration?" and "Ezekiel 25:17: The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Summary: overpriced, overhyped
Review: The movie is as great as ever (though its asethetic has been so thorougly integrated in mainstream culture that much of what was amazing when the film originally appeared is now less impressive). But either the director or Miramax (or both) are doing a disservice to the film's fans with this release. Aside from some fancy (but still uninteresting) packaging, there's little here besides the film itself - the musty "documentary" footage is run-of-the-mill infotainment, there are only a handful of extra scenes, and there is no audio commentary at all. Tellingly, the extra scenes are introduced by archival footage of Tarantino that's likely seven or eight years old, given that he references what other filmmakers do with the "laserdisc" versions of their movies. Given that Tarantino hasn't made a movie in five years, you'd assume that he would have time to jam this special edition with bells and whistles. Since he hasn't, you're better off buying the bare-bones version for half the price.

Summary: Bring out the gimp
Review: What can I say the Knoxville, TN native Quentin Tarantino is a complete genius. "Pulp Fiction" is arguably one of the best films ever made. For the first time watcher you may be slightly confused once the movie is over because of the way it skips around in the plot throughout the whole movie. I myself had to watch it a couple of times before I fully understood everything that was going on, and that was part of the beauty of this movie. Its just unexplainable on how great this movie is. It has great acting, great film shots, a superb script, great production and direction. "Pulp Fiction" could be labled as a comedy, drama, gangster film, crime film, anything! This movie has a little bit of everything and would be perfect for anyone, unless of course you are offended by cussing, however I think that the overwelming cursing in this movie just makes it that much funnier. Great movie!! Its a MUST buy for all movie lovers. 5+++++ stars!!

Summary: its about time
Review: i am writing this pre-emptively about two weeks before the release of this edition. consequently i cant comment on the actual quality of whats been included. all i can say is that i am absolutely exstatic at the knowledge of the long overdue deluxe edition of this fatastic movie.
i dont think i have to go into the actual quality of the film. i believe most people who read this will already know that it is one of the truly great films of the last ten years. if you dont know that, for whatever reason, you have my pity.
i think it goes without saying...oreder it, pre-order it, pawn the dog, sell your house , just keep your tv and dvd player and get this movie

Summary: Why this is a Good Film...
Review: Everyone who's ever heard of Pulp Fiction knows that it's one of the greatest films ever made (I've never heard it discussed in any context stating less). But not everyone is sure why. I'll explain: Pulp Fiction is an excercise in storytelling via film. It shows rather than tells. This is first illustrated in the opening scene where Tim Roth and Amanda Plummer are talking. There is no character devlopment, rather we simply see them in full character swing and come to know them that way, like we do with our own friends. The casual use of profanity helps this notion as well. The three stories that come thereafter each follow a pattern, each one using the profane language effectively: "Vincent Vega & Marsellius Wallace's Wife" - when does the excessive profanity start here? When Uma Thurman OD's, which is exactly when the conflict of the story starts. This story had the weakest redemption, in which John Travolta brings her back by injection and the two come to a mutual understanding not to talk about the night. "The Gold Watch" - the excessive profanity/conflict starts when Bruce Willis realizes his watch is missing. The redemption here is most obvious, that he decides to save Ving Rhames, the boss he double-crossed. Once more, they develop a mutual understanding. "The Bonnie Situation" - my favorite of the stories. The excessive profanity/conflict begins when Marvin is shot. Again, the story ends with a mutual understanding between Sam Jackson and Tim Roth. The redemption theme is highly obvious in both Jackson's speech and in his decision to quit the life opposite Travolta's decision to stay (which is ironic as we all know how he will die) There is so much genius to Pulp Fiction, most of it exerted in making it so enjoyable.

Summary: Tarantino Brings It All Together!
Review: With excellent timing and precision, I might add. "Pulp Fiction" is one box office blockbuster that certainly doesn't compromise on principle, as it features four uniquely interwoven, well-written and well-thought-out storylines, which will leave the average viewer baffled and bewildered by their outcomes. "PF" is unique in its' premise, in that this picture's scenes, in a way, were shot backwards, instead of in one continuing sequence, to leave the viewer free to come up with his or her own theory as to how each of these separate plots came to their respective introduction and conclusion. It is also funny and ironic that both opening and closing scenes were shot at the same locale, with the same exact sequence, too, creating a bunch of loose ends left for the viewer to tie together, as noted above, leaving the viewer to use his or her imagination here. Director Quentin Tarantino lets the audience participate in this upstanding masterpiece, and doesn't insult the viewer's intelligence in the process, which is only part of the beauty of watching a movie of this caliber. The other part, is watching "PF"'s all-star cast add their individual perspectives and talents to each of the characters they portray, with both John Travolta and Samuel L. Jackson portraying savvy and suave hit men, Bruce Willis portraying a tough-guy boxer and Ving Rhames playing a near-accomplice who's out to get Willis, among other performers featured here, including a cameo by Tarantino himself. All in all, "Pulp Fiction" is Quentin Tarantino's absolute best directorial study in contrast, and is a real eye-opener, with not one boring moment, whatsoever. The VHS Special Edition also features some added trailer footage at the conclusion of the film, narrated by Tarantino himself - another outstanding reason why "Pulp Fiction" is a must-see, must own motion picture that belongs in every movie buff's video library!

Summary: Pulp Fiction
Review: Quentin Tarantino's ultra-hip film that put John Travolta back on the map is one of the most effortlessly entertaining films in cinema history. The top cast of Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Thurman and Bruce Willis are all great in their decidedly off-beat roles. The unique approach to the material is played out in the grandest sense, with the "backwards" events and commendable wayward camera techniques. The classy soundtrack (one of my favourites) is equally impressive. At times confusing, it's a film that has to be watched several ways through get the jist of it. Tarantino's hard-as-nails direction makes this one somewhat hard to sit through. With the comical M.O taken with people getting four shades of guano blown out of them, it proves to be an uneasy watch. But it's enjoyable on so many levals, including counting how many time the "F" word is said. Zilch DVD extras, dissapointing for such a groundbreaking film.
