Summary: Another masterpiece from Tarantino
Review: Whilst not being quite as compelling or abrasive as Reservoir Dogs, Quentin Tarantino's follow-up doesn't disappoint and merley confirmed his genius for writing hard-bolied, attitude-laced comic dialogue. The scripts ride along like a rollercoaster and are complimented by the rich and compelling performances from an excellent cast which stars John Travolta, Samuel L Jackson, Bruce Willis, Harvey Kietel and Uma Thurman amongst many others. Again like Reservoir Dogs, the film switches backwards and fowards to depict an astonishing run of crossplots and a wealth of characters. This was something remarkable considering Tarantino was still vastly learning his trade. His deep, genius talents come into full force in this astonishing, diverse, imaginitive movie that boasts an equally sizzling soundtrack. The high calibre writing is astounding as are particularly the revitalised John Travolta and the then largely unknown Samuel L. Jackson. The film went onto win oscars for Tarantino and his co-writer Roger Avary. Exhilirating stuff and one of the best and important films made in the 1990's. Essential viewing!

Summary: Great Movie
Review: This is one of the great movies from the 90's.

Summary: Flawless
Review: I'm not going to revisit the justified raves of this superb film. I do want to add that Christopher Walken proves the adage that there are no small roles only small actors. He takes a brief appearence and turns it into a beautifully absurdist moment as only he can.

Summary: Coolness revealed in a form of autism.
Review: Pulp fiction hailed as a tribute to the genre of 30cent novels written on pulpwood, is not much of a tribute of all. It is more like an exploitation of the modern thinking inherent in Hollywood culture.

Pulp Fiction does not satirize the Hollywood culture. It succumbs willingly to that culture and successfully spreads its meaningless violence [and plot] across all the characters viewed in the film. Even Samuel L. Jackson's character's (who wants to give up crime for some sort of holy vagabondage) conversion is somehow assimilated with moral aestheticism.

Pulp Fiction asks for total suspension of disbelief, and attempts no psychological exploration of character. Pulp Fiction also has a message "What a lark crime can be!" an unsavory joke that murder should be viewed as somehow a fine art.

In closing, Uma Thurman just can't dance...

Summary: Great movie and DVD features
Review: The transfer looks awesome on this DVD and the extras are above average. The Charlie Rose interview is a classic. The story is such an absurd collection of movie cliches, weird situations, and fresh dialog spliced together with captivating editing that you can't help but loving it. It comes across as a film composed of all the scenes that should have been edited out while making a normal film. The long takes of characters actually passing time. The bizzare situations they get into. No film should actually have those scenes; they should have been edited out for the actual movie because they're too weird. It seems so totally original and holds up well after many viewings. May be too intense for some because of the violence. Although, most of the violence is implied or just seen through its results, albeit graphically and humurously. See it if you haven't already.

Summary: SLOP FICTION.....
Review: Everyone seems to like this movie but me. I just can't develope a taste for it. Even after seeing it on it's release in'94 I still hate it. I don't like swaggering attitude and this film has it in spades. There's a lot going on in it and it all comes to ....what? Samuel L. Jackson is good as a Bible spouting hit man but John Travolta is awful. I nicknamed him John Revolta after seeing this. The only interesting set piece was the 50's diner. That was cool. Watching Travolta and Uma Thurman dance was not. The intertwining stories are unpleasant and violent to the extreme. There's a lot of name association here. Like everyone HAD to be in a Quinton Tarantino movie. Tarantino thinks that by dunking the audiences' head repeatedly in a stinking garbage can will entertain them. Not me. "Pulp Fiction" is by far one of the most overrated excuses for a movie I've ever seen. It has caused me to question people's motives for seeking out entertainment and they're scary.

Summary: Not good enough
Review: I saw the movie several times because it is better than ordinary
movies, but it is not great at all.
The movie was very influencial in 1990's,but it is not enough that the movie is called a masterpiece. Only screenplay is good enough, but nothingelse. Tarantino does not have skill to complete a movie(So he can't be a master, auteur) He can't make intelligents to be involved in his movies emotionally. See what he wanted to show in the movie.
"Fargo","Goodfellas" are really good movies made in 1990's in this country. Feel the difference between those movies and "Pulp fiction"
"Pulp fiction" is good(not great),though.

Summary: UNACCEPTABLE PACKAGING - A RIP OFF
Review: First off, the film is 5 stars. The package it comes in however is an utter disappointment. Upon opening you will find a soundtrack cd which is barely held in by a cheap plastic molding. Not only that, but the soundtrack is nothing but an 18 minute "sampler", featuring only 6 songs! This is NOT the same soundtrack (2 cds) which was recently reissued to coincide with the dvd rerelease. There are no descriptions of the special features in the accompanying booklet; the tray which holds the 2 dvds (on a single spindle, making them susceptible to popping out loose and getting scratched) easily falls out of the box. For this set to retail for [...] is outrageous. You are far better off purchasing the Buena Vista edition. This is a slipshod production and is a complete abomination package-wise.

Summary: Let me explain something....
Review: I'm not writing this review to tell you that this is a great movie. That pretty much speaks for itself. I'm writing to tell that all of the people who've called this movie gross and vulgar are completely wrong. First off, this movie isn't really that violent. I could name a thousand movies that are more violent than this. Second, this is a very religous and spiritual movie. The main theme of the movie is redemption. The purpose of this movie is to show that everyone is capable of redemption, whether they are killers, drug dealers, etc. They are normal people just like you and me, even though their professions are questionable. I realize that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and that they can put this movie down for it's violence and profanity; but whatever you do, don't call it distasteful. There's just too many good things happening in this movie. So this DVD comes highly recommended. A great movie with some great extras.
