Summary: Come on Kumar, Keep up the intensity!
Review: You really have to like and get that kind of Ben Stiller/Weird sense of humor. The entire movie is funny but it takes watching it a couple of times to really pick up on every joke. Kumar and AppleJack will make you pee your pants from laughing so hard, and Dignon (Owen Wilson) is by far one of the greatest comediac geniuses of our time. This movie is hysterical.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the best and original movies ever.
Review: This movie is a laugh riot. It is not attended to people looking for stupid gags but more of the people who enjoy witty and intellegent humor in their movies.

Upon the 1st time veiwing the middle kinda draged with one of the most incrediable movie romances ever, but after that this movie files by and files high.

This DVD has no extras on it but is still worth every penny because of the movie that is on it.

Kumar and James Cain at the end are also well worth a look.

If you don't see this movie then as Kumar might put it, "You blew it, man. You blew it."

Summary: bottle rocket - quirky & verbose humor spillage
Review: one word to describe wes anderson's style - QUIRKY. (though-really- i don't think you can describe him w/one word.)

the film centers around a young man, Dignan, who dreams of the one big heist. he drafts into his big heist army his mentally exhausted friend, Anthony, and a follower pal, Bob - whose primary role is the getaway car. after their test run heist, subsequent hiding out and falling-out between Dignan & Anthony, Dignan enlists the expertise of a previous employer who steals from anyone. his well thought out plan plumets to just shenanigans when the members of this big heist can't follow through.

this movie is hilarious. but it is not humorous in a dumb & obvious way. a person actually has to have a keen sense of humor to enjoy this film (there are those out there who have no sense of humor). so if you are one of the few w/o a developed sense of humor, you will not enjoy this film. (i personally have an overly-developed sense of humor and think everything is funny-i'm so unprejudiced when it comes to laughter.) one way the non-dumbness of this film is proven, and i have noticed this same thing w/other wes anderson movies - rushmore & the royal tennebaums - is how upon your second, third, fourth, fifth, etc, etc., viewing, you are still catching yet more and more funny things that are extremely witty or ironic or surprising. It could be something as obscure as the heading on a poster hanging on a wall that has a total screen time of 2 seconds. The layers and efforts at depthness & completeness that Mr. Anderson puts into his projects should be applauded.

The characters in the film are well developed and well acted by, primarily, Owen & Luke Wilson, and don't leave you with gaping questions as why they did that & this. Luke & Owen are strong and funny actors in their own right, and with Wes Anderson directing them, their teamwork culminates in a film of wit, intellect, albeit convoluted morality and, surprisingly, poignancy.

Review: On a recent episode of Ebert and the Movies, Martin Scorcese named "Bottle Rocket" in his top 10 films of the 90's. Nuff said.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A surprising comedy
Review: The characters here are sincere, sweet, endearing and flawed. This movie allows its characters to be imperfect without passing judgement. Funny through and through with a unique style, pleasingly offbeat.

Summary: I may be a little biased but...
Review: A movie filmed in a small town gets phenomenal patronship from that town. Our town was home to Wilsons for a good two months while they filmed it. In fact, you might just be able to see me or one of my friends in a few scenes. Beside that, I loved the clever nuances, good timing, and overall obscurity that wasnt seen before its release and possibly marked a trend.

Martin Scorcese wasnt wrong when he put this in with this top 10 movies of the 90s.

Summary: Shouldn't you be in literature?
Review: I absolutely adore this movie. Maybe unhealthly so, but I can't help it.

I know the tendency here to give 5 stars to movies, I see it on all the reviews. But, I've seen many, many movies (though I wouldn't necessarily consider myself an "expert"), and I think this is one of the great ones, really. It's "The Graduate" for this generation, it's just as important, in my opinion.

Story of disillusionment, unhappiness, happiness, love, friendship, loyalty, etc. The list goes on. But it is also one of the funniest movies I've seen as well. Up there with "Big Lebowksi" for memorable lines. And it's subtle, lighthearted humor, jokes to really appreciate, not just humor arising out of the shear sense of shock, which is so prevalent these days.

My favorite minor character: tie between Kumar and Stacy Sinclair (Elizabeth's Sorority Sister). It was good to see Kumar (Mr. Littlejeans) back in Rushmore, by the way.

Summary: Brilliant
Review: This is old school Luke and Owen. You can't believe how hysterical the plot is and everything in between! The characters are a RIOT. I die for this movie.

Summary: A GREAT SUBTLE MOVIE!
Review: Someone said in their review this is "not a real ladies movie." What!?! I fell totally in love with Anthony and wanted to take Dignan home and just take care of him! This is a movie for ANYONE who appreciates subtle, intelligent humor and loves movies with great characters instead of movies with lots of explosions and fast cars.
