Summary: The Money Hungry Bruce Willis.
Review: I can't believe all the great reviews I've read on Amazon.com about this movie. Didn't anyone notice the mediocre acting, the poorly written, cliched script? Didn't anyone see that this film was nothing more than ordinary? I was surprised that Bruce Willis did this film, but only slightly. Willis has often done great films like "Die Hard", "Pulp Fiction" and "The Sixth Sense" followed by true garbage like "The Color Of Night", "Mercury Rising", "Sunset", "Last Man Standing", "In Country" and "Armageddon". I like Bruce Willis as an actor. I never have a problem with his acting, but I do when it comes to the scripts he decides to accept. "The Whole Nine Yards" has the type of story that's been done over and over and this time around there is very little that's new or original. Rosanna Arquette was horrible with her poor French-Canadian accent and lack of comedic presence or talent. Matthew Perry's acting was only average, limited to a kind of comic schtick. Kevin Pollack was horrible as a mafioso. I'd say that Amanda Peet and Bruce Willis were the only saving graces and even they couldn't make up for a dull, dimwitted script. How is this movie funny? There are a few laughs to be sure, but this isn't "A Fish Called Wanda", "Vacation", "Caddyshack", "Groundhog Day", "Seems Like Old Times", "Arthur", "Galaxy Quest", "The Princess Bride", "The Odd Couple", "Tootsie", "Some Like It Hot", "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" or countless other comedies that were far superior to this one. I'll even give this movie a break by adding that I thought the underrated "Hudson Hawk" was funnier than this film. You want to see Rosanna Arquette in better form? See Martin Scorsese's 1985 film noir comedy "After Hours". You want to see Bruce Willis do a better comedy go see "Disney's The Kid". You want to see Michael Clark Duncan in a better role go see "The Green Mile". You want to see Matthew Perry in better form, keep watching "Friends". I can't express how inane "The Whole Nine Yards" truly is. It's not even worth a video rental. I could rattle off hundreds of better comedies to recommend than this one. Rent a Dudley Moore, Tom Hanks, Steve Martin, Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, John Candy, Mike Meyers, Robin Williams, Kevin Kline, Monty Python, Goldie Hawn, Eddie Murphy, Martin Lawrence, or Jackie Chan comedy before renting this one. Certainly not one to get on DVD. To be fair, comedy is a matter of opinion and taste, and not everyone laughs at the same joke. I can see that some people thought this movie was funny, but there are only about 40 reviews written at this time, and, in my book, 40 people isn't much.

Summary: Avoid at all costs
Review: This simply an awful movie. The script is paper thin and completely unbelievable. Nearly all the gags fall short and the characters are all generally unlikable. I can't think of one redeeming quality. This movie is an undoubtedly a huge waste of time.

Summary: Not nearly as bad I thought.
Review: This movie got an unfair rap. I heard some really bad things about this movie. I, personally thought this movie wasn't too bad. It's got an OK script, but a great cast. I'm a big fan of Bruce Willis (although I think The Sixth Sence is a film), I'm a huge fan of Micheal Clark Duncan after The Green Mile, which was also a much better film. And -oh my God- I could actually stomach Matthew Perry! I should add that I HATE Friends.

The DVD is pretty good. It's got all the usual extra goodies. (Trailers, director's commentary, etc.) The picture and sound is very quality, espeacially the picture. And Amanda Peet looks great naked. :)

Summary: Good movie, worth watching
Review: This is a good movie. Good story, funny and a pretty good cast. While the plot was a bit twisted and Perry had a lot of physical comedy, the humor itself was not ha ha funny, but more subtle funny, almost dark even. As I said it is a good movie though, well worth watching. I would watch it again, but I don't know if I would buy it.

Summary: You`ll laugh if you want to. It`s a funny movie.
Review: I went into it expecting nothing, and I laughed a lot. Everyone seemed well cast in this film. If you look for holes, you`ll find them. Go in willing to have a blast watching silly people do silly things, and you`ll have a good time. I spend the whole movie wishing Oz`s wife would be shot soon. The comedy is very well timed, making the most out of each scene without getting exhausting. This allows for watching it over again. Leave your logic at the door.

Summary: Close, but no cigar.
Review: This movie was great except for Mathew Perry. His "i'm permanantly on speed" type of character made me want to rip off his head and pull out his soul. Other than that this is a great movie, although unrealistic at points. Bruce Willis was excellent, and saved the movie from being horse puckey.

Summary: A rating of 3 but picture and sound quality of 5
Review: On a high end rig, you won't find a better picture. The sound quality is great, but very limited due to it being a comedy. Film is entertaining at best.

Summary: Good Comedy turned Bad!
Review: This movie started off with great laughs and decent acting, but after the first half an hour it went downhill. I would maybe rent this, but do not buy this movie. You have been warned!

Summary: Life's too short, avoid this trash
Review: I rented this video after reading the many glowing 4 & 5 star ratings given here at Amazon. One may notice after browsing the site, virtually everything rated gets a 4 or 5 star.

As much as I wanted to experience some form of comedic relief from the project - I was forced to eject this refuse from my player midway due to complete boredom and lack of concern for the films characters. Maybe there is a moment in one's life when this film has appeal, obviously (thankfully) the moment has past in my life.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: O.K., but not the best
Review: I am a huge fan of both Willis and Perry, but I'm not the biggest fan of this movie. While there are quite a few funny moments, they are few and far between. It seemed as though the writers had written some funny stuff, and then came up with some boring lines to act as filler. The instant love between Perry and the blond woman, wasn't believable. Rosanna Arquette's accent was absolutely hideous. The only redeemable quality, was Amanda Peet as the hygienist turned hit man. She was very funny. This movie is o.k. I wouldn't buy it, if you want to see it, rent it, or wait for it to come on t.v.
