Summary: As Fresh and Lively as Ever. Pure 5 Star Entertainment.
Review: "Some Like It Hot" has Everything Going for it, Hilarious Performances by Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis, who are Both in their Prime, a Cheerfully Cute Performance by Marilyn Monroe, in the Best Performace of her Career, Top Notch Directing by Billy Wilder, who Hurdled the Production problems (Famous Fueds between the Cast and Crew) and Created one of the Greatest Examples of Spot on Comedic Film-making in History.

Every Performance, every Production Number, Set, Costume.. Everything Clicks, Even Wilder's use of Black and White Photography is Fitting. (I'd Usually take Colour over B and W any day, but Not Here) The Screenplay gets Maximum Mileage out of it's Cross-Dressing Gimmick and Wilder never lets the film get Silly, or Boring. The Pacing is Perfect, Supporting Performances are Wonderful. (Especially George Raft and Joe E Brown)

I Cannot Speak Highly Enough of this Landmark Film, It's Pure Movie Magic, from Start to Finish.

Summary: Definitely one of the funniest films ever
Review: Some Like It Hot is definitely one of the funniest films in movie history. The actors perfectly fit the characters, and Marilyn Monroe is adorable. She plays her part unbelievably well. I like it hot and this DVD is such!

Summary: Transvestites, yipes!
Review: This one shows up on Turner Classics every once in a while, but I hadn't focused till the other night. There's something creepy about dressing like a woman. Some burly men may have no qualms, but I find transvestites, ahh, uncomfortable. I know. It's me and there's nothing wrong with that. In Some Like It Hot, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon are cross-dressing to escape some killers. They're not very attractive as women, which allowed me to enjoy the sex identity farce. Farce in America means screwball comedy. If Monroe crawled into my Pullman berth to sleep, hmm -- Lemmon pops one no doubt, and I'm not sure it was in the script if you know what I mean. Then he's swarmed by bunches of scantily clad ladies and the fun escalates. Monroe wears two dresses that give an interesting illusion. What a bod.

Summary: Hot Comedy, Hot Action, Hot Actress, Hot Jazz, Hot Movie
Review: too Hot to be true, Marilyn Monroe,Tony Curtis,Jack Lemmon star in one of the greatest and funniest comedy classics of all time. The 1959 farse about the two musicians Joe and Jerry, who disquise themselves as women under the names Josephine and Daphne to land jobs as the sax and bow fidle in an all girls jazz band.Where they meet gorgeous songbird Sugar Kane. Also where Daphne meets womanizer Osgood Fielding III.When Daphne is stuck with that "dirty old man" Joe(Curtis) borrows a cup of that sugar(Monroe)as the millionare of Sugar's dreams "Shell Oil Junior". If Your looking for a classic comedy this is a good one. It's AFI's number 1 laugh, or if you want more marilyn, you love her in this one and if your looking for more Curtis and Lemmon they're hysterical in this one. See this classic comedy and you'll get "the sweet end of the lolly pop". As Osgood said at the end "nobody's perfect" well thats true ,but Some like it Hot may be a perfect comedy and as Sugar sang "I'm through with love, well she's not through for long ,but We are not through with this movie, because we love this film so much and we all want to "borrow a cup of that sugar" every time we watch it, "ZOWIE" "Yeah real hot"

Summary: Legendary movie, but...
Review: Gone With The Wind, Casablanca, The Wizard Of Oz and Some Like it Hot are all landmark films.
But unlike the others, Some Like It Hot suffers because it fails to stay funny for almost two hours. There are compensations in the funny lines, Marilyn and Tony & Jack. And the last line is worth the wait, but it DOES drag(hehehe) at times. George Raft is wonderful in his selfparody, but though it is a great film with magic momements - as a whole; a classic it ain`t.

Summary: The Funniest Comedy Ever Made
Review: This is one of my all-time favorite movies. The acting and story are absolutely wonderful and the film is a barrel of laughs all the way through. I can never get tired of it. It was a treat when I purchased this because for the first time I saw it on DVD and on a large screen television! Jack Lemmon has never made a bad film and will always be one of the greatest actors ever but for me he really shines in this one. Priceless.

Summary: Classic American Comedy...Classic American Bad Taste
Review: This film is a five star classic. I remember watching it as a ten year old on Saturday Afternoon Theatre or the like on T.V. and it was a pleasure to see it without commercials for aluminum siding and the transfer seems great to my eye. My objection is with the special features included. The interview with Tony Curtis contains off-color remarks that could have easily been left on the cutting room floor. I'm not a parent myself, but it's seems a shame that a parent couldn't feel comfortable giving a "tweener" this DVD to watch and exposing them to a monumental film instead of just more of the same old language and crap that they could see everyday on daytime TV. I guess the ten year olds are now producing the DVDs instead of watching them.

Summary: One of the best comedies of all-time
Review: Some Like it Hot is a classic comedy that fully deserved the nod as the #1 comedy of all-time according to the American Film Institute. Joe and Jerry are two down on their luck musicians in Chicago who cannot find a job. When they accidentally witness a gangland murder, the St. Valentine's Day Massacre, the musicians must find a way out of town. Disguised as women, Josephine and Daphne, the two join an all-girl band heading to Florida. Joe takes a liking to one of the band members, Sugar, and Jerry must deal with an old millionaire who falls in love with him. What follows is some of the funniest stuff ever put on the screen. With a great cast, a perfect script, and a jazzy musical score, Some Like it Hot is a can't miss movie. If you haven't seen it, buy this movie. It will keep you rolling around on the ground throughout.

Marilyn Monroe shows some of her comedic ability, along with other abilities, as Sugar Kane, a ukelele-playing singer in the band searching for a young millionaire to marry. Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon are perfectly cast as Joe, "Josephine," and Jerry, "Daphne," two musicians who must disguise themselves as women to escape the wrath of the mob. The chemistry and dialogue between Curtis and Lemmon is the high point of the movie. Joe E. Brown is excellent as Osgood Fielding III, a persistent millionaire who takes a liking to Daphne. George Raft plays mob boss Spats Colombo with Mike Mazurki and Harry Wilson as his henchmen. The movie also stars Pat O'Brien, Nehemiah Persoff, Joan Shawlee, and Dave Barry. The Special Edition DVD offers widescreen presentation, "A Nostalgic Look Back" a great 30-minute interview with Tony Curtis and Leonard Maltin, "The Sweet Sues" a featurette with interviews from members of the all-girl band, an extensive interactive photo gallery, a pressbook gallery, a Some Like it Hot trailer, and trailers from six other Billy Wilder movies. For the greatest comedy with a hilarious cast, excellent dialogue, and so much more, check out Some Like it Hot!

Summary: Best Marilyn Movie
Review: I adore this film and own the Special Edition DVD (Reigon 2 edition). What's not to love about it? It's not particularly corny and is still as appealing to contemporary audiences as it ever was. It was shot deliberatly in black and white, so as not to portray any sense of Curtis and Lemmon's characters in the style of drag queens, and I feel that it allows people to focus on the storyline and timelessness of the piece. Marilyn is, as usual, a captivating presence, and although the chemistry on set between her and Tony Curtis was non existant during filming, their acting capabilities more than make up for what was lost in mutual attraction. I own the 2003 edition of Time Out film guide, and Some Like It Hot takes the prime place of number 1 in the top 100 films of all time. I think that speaks for itself.

Summary: Witty and Humorous
Review: I adore this movie. It is well written, well directed and a well paced story. Billy Wilder writes a very funny script, and gives a brilliant direction in this wonderful screwball comedy. With their energetic yet contrasting personas, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis make an ideal leading pair for a movie of this nature. Joe and Jerry are musicians trying to make a living taking in many jobs throughout Chicago. When they witness a mob hit, they dress up as women and join a women's jazz band headed for Miami. In the band, they meet Sugar, a girl trying to find a nice millionaire to marry. Joe then decides to dress as a millionaire to impress her, but this doesn't impress Jerry who has a real millionaire going after him. When the mob arrives in Miami, madcap mayhem ensures. Tony Curtis, Jack Lemmon, and Marilyn Monroe are all wonderful in possibly their best performances.
