Summary: Could be an episode of "Before They Were Stars"
Review: It was all about flash and glitz during the 80s, which makes me wonder why there simply weren't more musicals. Well, at least there was this one. Earth Girls Are Easy is a silly, kitschy romp with songs that are as fun as the goofy storyline.

Valerie (Geena Davis) is a manicurist at a styling salon in "The Valley" called Curl Up & Dye. She's engaged to a philandering doctor (Charles Rocket), and looks forward to the day that she'll be a bride. Life is confusing, but headed in the right direction, Valerie thinks. Until the fateful day when an alien spaceship crash-lands in her swimming pool.

The brains behind Earth Girls Are Easy is Julie Brown, who takes part of the credit for writing the script and the songs, who sang several of the songs, and who also co-stars as Valerie's best friend, Candy. Before this movie, really the only thing Brown had been known for was serving as a vee-jay on MTV. Likewise, two of the aliens who at the time were unknowns would later become comedic powerhouses, Jim Carrey and Damon Wayons. Rounding out the trio of aliens was Jeff Goldblum, who was Geena Davis' real-life boyfriend at the time and who, not surprisingly, plays her character's love interest in this film.

Mostly the movie is a series of setups for each of the songs, as well as some great comedy skits. Keep your eyes peeled during the "Cause I'm A Blond" sequence for uncredited dancer Robia LaMorte, who would later become well known to fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer as computer science teacher Jenny Calendar - she becomes de-throned as "this month's Miss August" by Julie Brown when she's exposed as really being a brunette.

There's also a great turn here by Michael McKean as over-the-hill surfer Woody.

If you enjoy a good, goofy musical-comedy, you don't want to miss Earth Girls Are Easy.

Summary: YEAH SURE. 5 STARS, WHATEVER
Review: Its really a "satire" like movie with some funny scenes. I dident mind those dumb songs either. The songs passed the time quicker for the film to be shorter. Earth Girls makes no sense and is just silly from start to finish. I love Geena Davis's creepy and scary neighbor. She freaks me out.

Summary: Funny laughs are in store
Review: Jeff golblum. Genna davis, Jim carrey. and Damon wayans: four great actors packed into a comedy movie. This movie has some cheesy points but has lots of jokes and funny moments. this movie just show's a bit of their acting ability and gives them a lead way into the acting business. But how else do you make it unless you have some non- major movie experience first? If you want laughs, check out this movie.

Summary: Freeway of luv, laughter and aliens
Review: Julien Temple (the Director) is a Brit and apparantly quite impressed with the California landscape and The Valley in particular (quite understandable as this turf is God's gift to earth!) and it shows in his movie. The panoramic shots, the freeway, the strip malls, the ocean, the beach bunnies, you get the picture. This is the part of the movie I like! Actually, I also like the characters (the aliens), and the dance scenes, but the story is thin, way thin. It's almost like a series of video CD's clipped together - well, that's Temple's background, he's done the Rolling Stones and like, and here he is making a movie! Monty Python it's not, but it's a laugh, sometimes a good laugh!

Summary: My Review...
Review: One word comes to mind when I think of the movie: "Right"-Dr. Evil of Austin Powers. {The joke is, it is sarcastic}.

The movie is about 3 "blown-up Furby's" aliens, played by Jeff Goldbloom, Damon Wayans and Jim Carrey who come in search of women on our planet. They land in Geena Davis' pool and they are instant friends.

The movie is a typical one and you knew what was going to happen at the end, "Will she stay with Ted or will she go with the blue Furby guy?" What a question, huh?

Damon and Jim played my favorite characters in the film. The dancing scene with Damon, not always him of corse was pretty good. The Jim Carrey scenes were all great. Micheal McKean was really funny as Woody.

Geena Davis, like always gets annoying quickly, and nearly ruins the movie. A question that remains in my mind, how could they learn to talk English so easily? Normaly alien movies already have the knowledge.

It was an "OK" movie, I bought it on DVD brand new for... so I guess I did not waste my money...

Summary: the BEST after-finals, brain-death movie!
Review: The first time I saw this movie (waaaaay back when), I wasn't sure I liked it much. Then I saw it again right after finals... LOVE! This movie doesn't have a lot in story, but that's what makes it wonderful - You can turn off the brain for a moment & just enjoy. I've always liked Geena Davis better than Julie Brown, but can never stop singing those songs: "The perfect man for me? Superman with a lobotomy!" Still ROFL after all these years!
