Summary: Clouseau must find the Pink Panther again.
Review: Peter Sellers returns as "Inspector Clouseau", 11 years later since 1964. This is the fourth "Pink Panther" film, the third with Peter Sellers. Herbert Lom and Burt Kwouk return as well. If you have seen the first film "The Pink Panther" (1964), you already know what the "Pink Panther" is and if your child says the Pink Panther in the cartoons he would also be right. too.
In this film, someone very clever (like the first film) is trying to steal the valuable "The Pink Panther" jewel from the museum. Can Inspector Clouseau find the crook?
Where is Cato hiding this time to horseplay with Clouseau?
*** Intersting note: In the later film "Trail of the Pink Panther" (1982) through ingenious use of unused footage, we really see who the crook really was that wanted to steal the jewel.

Review: Has there ever been a more catchy theme than Mancini's "Pink Panther?" I can't think of any off hand, and in this third entry in the Clouseau series, the music and the animated panther are back in fine form.
Mainly a vehicle for the superb Peter Sellers, this sequel is tired in plot, and struggles for some of its laughs, but one cannot deny the superlative hijinks of Sellers as the impossibly inept Inspector Clouseau. He has so many brilliant moments, it's hard to think of them all, but Sellers is in top form. Christopher Plummer and Catherine Schell do okay, but Herbert Lom and Burt Kwouk as Dreyfuss and Kato are outstanding in their supporting roles. Lom's slow decline into mental illness is hilarious in its cartoonish way, and Kato's fights with Sellers are priceless.
It's an entertaining if inconsequential movie, but I had lots of fun watching it!!

Review: No need to comment on the plot which is hilarious, just the DVD picture quality.
While it's in letterbox, the image is slightly fuzzy (as in VHS quality). I suspect that instead of using 35mm film, Artisan Entertainment may have pulled this from a laserdisc and burned it down to DVD. Still, it's worth owning.....
