Rating: Summary: This movie is what good film making is all about. Review: Hollywood has a tendancie to play it safe. They want to go for the quick and easy way to score a buck. Most of the movies out there are rehashed crap fests with unintresting charcaters. "Very Bad Things", however, is not. It starts off with letting you get to know the characters and their personalities. So, when everything begins to get out of control, you're not left thinking, "he wouldn't do that." The movie spins off into frantic oblivion dragging the cast further and further into the hell in which the created. The acting is flawless. The directing impeccable. The script (written by Peter Berg) is psychotic and at the same time hilarous. This film was one of the best films of 1999. I recommend it to any one who has a sharp sense of humor and a strong stomach. It's one of those rare movies that doesn't try to by another hollywood turd. It just tries to tell an intresting tale of very good people doing very bad things.
Rating: Summary: Violent & Disgusting, a complete waste of time. Review: I believe this movie will be in the "comedy" section of video stores,( at least Blockbuster) WHY? In the first 45 minutes you get to see drug and alchol abuse, prostitution, and two violent murders. It just gets worse from there! Its a shame that such a group of actors would put out such garbage!
Rating: Summary: CRAZY Review: I DON'T HAVE ANY WORD TO EXPLAIN FOR IT. IT'S REALLY HATEFUL AND CRAZY. YOU BETTER STOP SELLING IT.
Rating: Summary: Very Bad Things Was a Very Good Thing Review: This was the darkest of black comedies and by far the funniest. The cast was perfectly matched to the characters. The story begins with a obsessed bride to-be and an equally obessed group of friends of the groom to party till you die, literally. This is one of the best movies I've seen but you have to always remember it's a movie, or you'll miss the joke.If you can laugh at life's ironies (O.J Simpson getting mugged) then you'll love it
Rating: Summary: BEST MOVIE EVER!!! Review: This is my favorite dark comedy of them all. Up until Very Bad Things came out, Heathers used to be one of my favorite dark comedies. Very Bad Things beats it. I admit I'm a huge fanatic of this movie. I bought the poster, buying the DVD, but I want the soundtrack bad. Very Bad Things is a dark comedy for those to the extreme. If you liked Heathers, you'll probably like this one.
Rating: Summary: This is one of the very best films ever!!!! Review: This movie is just......Brilliant! It is hilarious, just f!*cking good!!! The actors were ALL wicked and acted very well!! Much better than "There's Something about Mary!' It is a Tarantino Style movie that will have you thinking for a while....... It could happen to you.....what would YOU DO!!???????
Rating: Summary: Peter Berg is a God Review: This is the best film of the year and the funniest film of the 90s - hands down!
Rating: Summary: Very Bad Things is a Very Bad Movie Review: The poster says "If you didn't like There's Something About Mary, you'll hate Very Bad Things". I did like There's Something About Mary, and I still hated Very Bad Things. This is without a doubt, THE worst movie I have ever seen (even worse than Van Damme's Streetfighter). Christian Slater was annoying in Robin Hood, brilliant in True Romance, and quite good in Broken Arrow and Hard Rain, but this is his worst performance ever! Cameron Diaz is a pathetic drip in this movie (who I think I was supposed to feel sorry for, but didn't). Doesn't give you anyone to go for, but gives you too many people to hate. Complete garbage!
Rating: Summary: It's the Funnest Movie of the Year! Review: Everyone loves to see the sanity of our fellow man crumble, and Very Bad Things does nothing but display this in action. Show it to the kids. Teach 'em a lesson.
Rating: Summary: Watch out for this director Review: This movie still lingers on my retina after many months. That is a accomplishment itself. The movie is dark, very dark, and not for the faint of heart. Its characters are extreme, yet somehow believeable - Christian Slater is evil, Cameron Diaz is a b*tch, and the rest of the cast does a good job as well. This movie also challenges what is considered funny. I laughed, and yet - it was a guilty feeling, for you could not help but question how you could laugh at this gruesome scenario. And in the end, I left the theatre quietly - disgusted and in awe.
