Summary: Hideously stupid comedy
Review: Big waste of time for all the talent involved here. Liv Tyler gives a very sexy performance in the best tradition of film noir goddesses as a double-crossing vixen who always gets her way. Paul Reiser, Matt Dillon and John Goodman are the seemingly innocent men who cross her path and fall instantly for her. The plot weaves and weaves like a spider spinning a very complicated web, convincing you that it will end up in a very clever and surprising way. However, a very violent and simplistic ending that seems to have been written by a grade-schooler is the outcome, leaving the audience angry for having been cheated into such an empty experience. It is, however, the first film I've ever seen to mention the inherent value of a DVD player. Michael Douglas (who also co-produced) absolutely steals the show as the hired hit man with a walking carpet on his head.

Summary: A nice try - but Zwartz doesn't quite make it!
Review: This is the Norwegian director Harald Zwartz Hollywood debut. I have seen music videos, commercials and movies he produced before McCools so I know that Harald Zwartz has a big potentialas a director. In One Night at McCools i think he tries a little to hard. The movie is very funny, but it seems like Harald thinks that the movie has to be funny every single second. This does that the movie gets a little flustered.The casting in this movie is just great. Liv Tyler, Matt Dillon, John Goodman and Michael Douglas gives this movie an extra edge. John Goodman is just fantastic in this movie. The casting alone should be reason good enough to see this movie. But overall it is a good film, and I recommend people to see it. My guess is that we will se more and better movies from Harald Zwartz in the future. This is just the beginning....

Review: One night at mcCool's is a good movie and funny. But when the movie was over I thought to myself it was kinda like Theres something about Mary but crazier!!

Summary: Not So Cool At McCool's
Review: "McCools" was a rubbish movie, weak in every department, and one of the poorest films I have ever seen. It would seem that the producers were undecided as to whether they were making a porn film or a screwball comedy, and succeeded in doing neither. Their only gameplan was to finish the film with a spoof on The Village People; what an awful lot of effort for one joke! I had only gone to see the film because I am a fan of Reba McEntire, not knowing what to expect. In common with the ethos behind the production, her role as a confessor figure to Paul Reisner, was irrelevant and utterly superfluous. After she had spent a couple of days filming her short sequences, she was called back for post-production work and as a consequence had to cancel some scheduled concerts - what a waste of time! Judging from the length of time they took to release the film, the producers probably realised that they had produced a turkey.

Review: While moderately entertaining, McCools didn't have very clean edges. Where a movie like "Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?" was obviously well crafted, this movie had a McFeel (as in McDonalds) of being an immature work that could have used a bit more editing. There are three or four nice jokes, and this is certainly an interesting take on Liv Tyler. Matt Dillon has played this role before, as has John Goodman, but who really wants to see Paul Reiser and his tighty whities (sic)? Go ahead. Watch it once. But if this movie became a cult favourite, it would be more of a comment on a paucity of cult-worthy movies than anything else.

Review: When I first saw the preview for One Night at McCool's I thought "There Something About Mary" cloned. I was totally mistaken. One Night at McCool's offers manipulation, deception and candid comedy among other treats. The real stars of this movie are Liv Tyler (best seductive performance ever) Paul Reiser (best scummy uncle performance) and Andrew (Dice Clay) Silverstein (best bad guy/bad guys twin brother performance). A couple of notes: If you have not seen the movie FALLING DOWN see it before One Night at McCool's for a great spoof involving Andrew (Dice Clay) Silverstein and Michael Douglas. It's a few seconds of a spoof but worth it for Michael Douglas and Andrew (Dice Clay) Silverstein fans. One more thing: Pay attention to the Indian!

Review: This is one of the funniest films I have seen in ages. Liv Tyler is brilliant and its great to see she doesn't take her self too seriously - this is proof that she is one of the brightest young stars around. Matt Dillon is on top form again, following on from his great performances in There's Something About Mary and Wild Things, John Goodman maintains his excellent standards, and Steve Zahn also excels. Michael Douglas' cameo is alone worth paying for to see - especially with that quiff - and overall the endless one-liners and sharp soundtrack - plus the fact that the movie's ending is probably the funniest I've ever seen - make it an unmissable hit! Top marks!!!

Summary: Good idea, soso execution.
Review: This movie had some flashy trailers, but it's not just about sex, it is focused on a very innovative story. The story is about one bar tender, an attorney, and a cop, all been seduced by a pretty angel who turned into demon. They each went to a helper to tell them their story with that girl. Those three stories is actually one story, but told from three view points.This idea was very interesting, but the three stories were not very even, especially at the beginning, and didn't reach their full potential. But the ending was very good. The three actors did a terrific job, while Liv Tyler was just OK. This movie had many fun moments, though at the begginning I felt the movie was going too slow. Anyway, don't buy it if you just wanted to watch the girl.

Summary: Hilarious!
Review: One Night at McCool's explores the different worlds and perspectives of three men attracted to Liv Tyler's character, Jewel. Their different views of her (and each other) are incredibly funny. The end is an unexpected twist that is memorable. Even my niece who hates everything had to have this movie!
