Summary: Amazing Movie
Review: This movie is possibly the funniest movie I have ever seen. The archetype of dark comedy, Heathers will either shock you or make you laugh for a very, very long time. The one movie I would want to own.

Summary: Black comedy at it`s best
Review: 1988`s "Heathers" should be considered a classic. This extremely uncommon film satirises the dark side of adolesence, and intelligently uses scathing wit and twisted humour to express their serious message and to also entertain. The furthest things from a sunny, opitimist teenflick, "Heathers" plays more like a dark, cynical and perceptive observation of adolescents and the cruelty they embody. Winona Ryder plays Veronica, the fourth member of a powerful clique named the Heathers. They get their kicks by ruthlessly inflicting torment against others, but Veronica starts to get sickened by their ways. That is when she meets a bad-ass rebel named JD (Christian Slater). Veronica quickly falls for him, and confesses her bottled-up hate towards her clique. This unfortunately sets off JD`s insane plan of eliminating the popular crowd of their high school. With Veronica`s reluctant help, the two go on "Bonnie and Clyde" binge and hilariously pull the murders off as suicides. (May offend some, I know.) But Veronica starts to sees how the school is in a frenzy, idolizing the "suicide" victims and treating it like some sort of trend. She feels the violence has to stop, and tries to stop J.D. from turning his grande finale of a plan into a horrifying reality. The ending is a battle between the good and the evil, and one of them loses in every sense of the word. "Heathers" mocking of today`s media shamelessly exploiting serious issues is brilliant, but it also manifests the sad truth. On a lighter note, "Heathers" is an excellent film, packed with rare cleverness and startling orginality. Remarkable.

Summary: A brilliant satire on teen angst
Review: "Heathers" has got to be one of the best black comedies of our generation. This remarkably original film is packed with savage humour, razor sharp wit, and has a script that is ingeniously clever from beginning to end. Winona Ryder`s character, Veronica, is the main character of the film. She is the "outcast" of a four member clique called the Heathers. The ruintation and torment of other gives them a sadistic pleasure, but Veronica feels they are going to far. Finally, after the Heathers destroy her from the group, Veronica joins forces with a rebel named J.D (Christian Slater) and go on an act of rebellion, as the they kill off the popular people of their high school and hilariously pull them off as suicides. It may sound very dark, but the murders are actually more funny then morbid. Ultimately, Veronica realises the errors of her ways, and tries to stop J.D. from turning the student body into a horrifying blood bath, but sees her partner`s sanity is not very stable. The ending of the film is battle between the good and the evil, but one of them loses in every sense of the word. "Heathers" main point is to prove that today`s adolescent cruelty is dangerously edging severe violence and destruction. With a satire brillianty constructed with black comedy, "Heathers" main message is definitely expressed with entertainment and thought. A must-see!

Summary: A definite tension-reliever
Review: Heathers Heathers Heathers! It grabbed ahold of my attention with the girls in the skirts at the beginning and refused to let go as it gave me an emotional roller coaster ride. I peed in my pants laughing at the multiple one liners that you'll come to use daily like, "we can't do that man, we're seniors" and "MMM! MMM! I can't get enough of 'em!" There's a bit for everyone... Christian Slater for the girls and little skirts for the guys. It's a must see for anyone that is in high school and has ever dreamed about putting the popular famuli in their place. Just rent it and see for yourself. You won't regret it.

Summary: "Heathers" be thy name.
Review: I'm sorry, but something has to be said about one of the most disturbingly provocative movies of the 80's cult film era. It's not so much a 'black comedy' as it is (for lack of a better word) insane. However, it should be required viewing for pretty much everyone who has ever hated anybody, or anyone who has ever wanted to serve their best friend a wake-up cup of Liquid Drano. (I mean, we've all been there, right? Guys?) The movie examines the tortured existence of a member of 'the most powerful clique in school.' Veronica (Winona Ryder) wants nothing more than to kill her friends. Of course, she only ever scribbled her feelings to that end into a diary. That is, until she met J.D. (Christian Slater). Her thrilling, new 'Jack Nicholson protege' of a boyfriend seemed to be the ideal man...until Veronica discovered that he was a little too crazy. (Don't you just hate it when that happens?) She was faced with having to save the school and the people she hated from the one person who just may have hated her friends more than she did. (We are taking instant classic, aren't we folks? Did I hear Oscar?) "Heathers" is one film that should be watched over and over. And over. And over. If you think I'm exaggerating, you should know that I'm not. Director Michael Lehmann combined his gift for dark humor and satire with some classic dialogue from writer Daniel Waters (i.e. "I saw we just grow up, be adults and die," and, "She's my best friend. God, I hate her.") to make for the perfect psychotic comedy. You'll laugh. You'll laugh some more. You'll feel neurotic, compulsive, and above all, maniacal. But it's just like J.D. said: "The extreme always seems to make an impression." Buy this movie. Buy it now. (Warning: After watching "Heathers," you may unintentionally start quoting from the movie during normal conversations. The condition is unavoidable, irreversible and permanent.)

And now for some of those classic quotes:

- "People will look at the ashes of Westerburg and say, 'Now there's a school that self destructed, not because society didn't care, but because the school was society!' Now that's deep." (JD) - "This is Ohio. If you don't have a brewski in your hand you might as well be wearing a dress." (JD) - "I better motor, if I'm gonna make the funeral." (Veronica) - "I like it. It's got that it's-a-cruel-world-let's-throw-ourselves-in-the-abyss type ambience." (JD) - "Our love is God, let's go get a Slushie." (JD) - "If you were happy every day of your life you wouldn't be a human being. You'd be a game-show host." (Veronica) - (And my personal favorite) "I don't patronize bunny rabbits." (Dad)

Well? Did you buy the movie yet? What are you waiting for? Come on, people. You've got to help me out on this one. I can't very well buy the movie for you, now can I? I thought so.

Summary: "Heathers." Enough said.
Review: "Heathers" is one of my all time favorite movies! I recommend buying it for anyone who loves the darker side of the teen years, and also for anyone who loves some great one-liners. This movie defines the high school experience by subconsciously fulfilling the need for every teenager to be rid of that oh-so-annoying clique of snobs that is present in any high school in America. But besides that, "Heathers". Enough said.

Summary: You'll laugh. You'll laugh some more. You'll feel psychotic.
Review: What does that mean? This movie is insanely provocative, and makes a satirical statement that applies not only to the 80's cult film generation, but also to high school life today. You don't like your friends? Just kill them. Your boyfriend is a murderer? Just break up with him. This movie challenges the audience to examine life from the perspective of those outside the socially accepted circle, then decide who to kill to make things right. This movie is a classic, and the best thing Heathers has going for it is the fact that Molly Ringwald is not in it. Finally, and 80's movie with Christian Slater and (not) Molly Ringwald. Even if you hate it, you'll love this movie. What does that mean? you ask. I have no idea. Just buy it.

Summary: Heathers is one movie all teens should see again and again.
Review: In a nutshell, Veronica saw what her friends really were. Then she hooked up with the new bad boy,JD, and people started going down. Its satirically hilarious in a way, and scary in another. In my hay-day of high school, I probably watched it 300 times, and I'll watch it 300 more. Lastly, it stars Winona Ryder, Christian Slater, and Shannen Doherty before they knew what fame was. :o)

Summary: Charming, twisted, funny, twisted...
Review: This movie is just oh so twisted! If you're a fan of teen-age angst and who isn't, you'll just die for this movie! Veronica is very much like MTv's Daria, except Daria never killed anyone. Christian Slater, who plays J.D., resident bad-boy, lives up to his title as, "The Most F*cked Up Psycho Ever"; not to mention his hair looks good black. You'll learn to hate the "Heathers" and will want to kill them as much as I did. Draino anyone? Don't know if you want to see it still? Oh come on, splurge a little! At least you'll be learning a few good ways to off "the ones you love".
