Summary: It is so "very"
Review: I love this flick!! My best friend and I used to watch it together all of the time when we were kids. They don't make great movies like this anymore! I love the characters in the movie. It is your typical Look-what-society-has-lowered-us-to-now, Swatch wearing Diet coke heads. My favorite line is..f&^% me gently with a chainsaw. :) movie is a must have!!!!! RENT IT! SEE IT! LOVE IT! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPOINTED!!!!

Summary: Obsessed, Cynical, Cornuts: A Lethal Combination!
Review: Heathers is the most incredibly evil, funny, psychotic movie I have ever seen and then seen again and again. The way the teen queens of Westerburg high are brought down by Veronica and her deranged boyfriend allows us to live out our sick fantasies without having to get in trouble for it! Heather Chandler and Veronica Sawyer are the two most complete, enchanting charachters I have ever witnessed on the big screen and the rivalry between them, which they try to disguise as friendship, is something to savor. I'd give it 100 stars if I could! Wouldn't you hate to have "Cornuts" as your last words?

Summary: Too close to home?
Review: I am surprised that Heathers has not been mentioned in the media frenzy surrounding the Littleton tragedy. The parallels are rather striking, and might prompt one to suggest that the real cause of these school shootings is being is school and having access to guns.

Summary: Big Studio Tries A Cult Movie
Review: Why is this movie always so highly rated? Well, why did everyone act like "Forrest Gump" was the second coming?

"Heathers" is a slick attempt at the "cult movie" format without the imagination and internal logic that make real cult movies so compelling. The dialog is annoyingly ornate, but never witty. Christian Slater's Jack Nicholson impression became so grating I wanted to lobotomize the freak. And besides the general implausibility (Ryder is supposed to be dumb enough to think this is all a game, so we can still like her?!), there were a lot of pretentious scenes stuck in just to be arty.

Besides the Ryder character and its smirky "'tude," this film was interchangable with "Massacre at Central High" from, like, 1980. And if we're supposed to hate the Heathers, why does the movie join them in lampooning geeks and fat girls? Just to nose-dive into repellent sentimentality in time for the fade-out?

Get a friend with two VCR's to compile all the good jokes for you on a blank tape. Then it'll only suck away about two minutes of your time instead of two hours.

Summary: The Best Black Comedy in Ages
Review: Winona Ryders gives the best performance of her career as Veronica, the only member of a powerful high-school clique not named Heather. Christian Slater plays J.D., the new kid in town who is a rebel with a cause. Together, they go on a killing spree, eliminating the most popular kids at school, only seeing their plans backfire, when the most hated kids at school become the most-loved. Slater does a wicked Jack Nicholson performance, and the scripts wit and slang only help this film to become a true classic.

Summary: This is a movie that every teen can identify with
Review: This is a movie that would make any popular person step back and take a look at their actions. The dialogue is wonderful, the extreme actions are riotous, and the acting is superb. This is my favorite Winona Ryder movie, and it still gives me much respect for the abilities of Christian Slater. The abilities of these two actors really make up for the fact that Shannon Doughrty is in the film. The cinematography is excellent, the set designs are believeable, and the whole movie is so terrific that it puts all current films to shame. The realistic design of the sets only adds to the extraordinary circumstances it profiles. If you do not enjoy this coming of age/murder all your best friends movie, and laugh out loud at a rousing game of strip croquet, then I suggest that you check your pulse.

Summary: A Must-Have for the Collection
Review: Along with "Raising Arizona", you should not consider your video library complete without this one. Ryder and Slater are the perfect pair to reflect teenage angst in all of its glory from a decidedly teenaged point of view. It's terrific!

Summary: What's your damage, did you eat a brain tumor for breakfast?
Review: An unbelievably witty movie with some of the best lines ever to be heard. If it weren't for Heathers, Shannon Dougherty would never have seen Beverly Hills 90210. I find that in every situation in life that a line from Heathers aptly applies. Well I better shut up before people think Miss Phlegm is on one of her crusades again.

Great paté, but I'm gonna have to motor if I want to make that funeral.

Summary: Better then Clueless!
Review: This is the real Indie style of filmaking. It is a story of some poor little rich girls and how they all make things go there way. Christian Slater plays his best role ever as a teen doing his own thing in his bizarre ways. You will notice a young Jack Nicholson in him.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Queen of the 80s Teen Movies
Review: A sparkling script which plunges its claws firmly into every teen movie cliche, stellar performances from Slater and Ryder, and a brilliant encapsulation of some of the worst of 1980s "style" make this one of my favourite movies of all time. The story revolves around a pair of teen killers who make Mickey & Mallory look like slow-moving dullards. Their quest to make their high school "a nicer place" incorporates strip croquet, cow tipping, murder-by-Dran-O and some of the best one liners this side of "This Is Spinal Tap...". A glorious hymn to all those who didn't even make the reserves list for Most Popular Person in High School: do see.
