Rating: Summary: Indeed it is The Most Underrated Comedy Ever Review: I was never a fan of Bobcat's stand up comedy. In fact, he used to irritate the heck out of me. I had to be tricked into watching this video by a friend and I am glad that he did.The concept of this movie is brilliant. An alternative world full of different types of clowns who live a twisted life. I was laughing out loud from beginning to end. The film is full of some great cameos as well. If you like twisted, dark humor see this film as soon as possible. I am not kidding. Forego all else and see this film.
Rating: Summary: but that ain't 'lady of Spain" is it Ty?.... Review: Adding to what others have already said would be superfluous. Get it and laugh your azz off!!!
Rating: Summary: Leonard Maltin and Binky club members. Review: Like Binky, Leonard must belong to the "Not-Funny Diarrhea Club". This movie WAS meant to be crude. If you ever wanted to hear Aunt Esther from "Sanford and Son" utter THE classic line (About a little dog), get this movie!!!
Rating: Summary: Painfully funny, great cast... and quite filthy, too! Review: It's nice to see that so many people out there have finally "gotten" this movie (it's belly-flopped when originally released). It has an incredibly flimsy story and no real depth of character but, guess what? Some movies just don't need strong story and characterization. Especially, when it's filled with such talented comedians as Goldthwait, Julie Brown, Adam Sandler (before he became huge), Kathy Griffin, Tom Kenny (from "Mr. Show" who steals every scene he's in), SNL's Tim Kazurinsky, and the legendary Paul Dooley ("Say, you clowns are on dope!"). The language throughout is so blue it's almost aquamarine, and yet it doesn't pander to the depths of gross-out humor that some comedies have (though there are scenes of vomit and urination played for laughs, the jokes are actually FUNNY). Man, this film is funny, funny, funny. See it! A cult classic.
Rating: Summary: King klutz clown shocker! Review: A marvelous achievemennt, and one which should hold water for decades, STC is one of the funniest, most perverse comedies it's been my pleasure to witness. From the first minute sttream of pee that hits Bobcat's head, you know it's all gloriously downhill. This should be on every Friday at midnights with free Thunderbird wine to help things along. Frankly it makes you feel sleazy and filthy watching it...great stuff. When will the DVD arrive, and will we be treated to extra scenes?
Rating: Summary: great Review: The drunken rampage at the childrens party is this movie it is a beutifulllllll creation and the world is better for it. This is the perfect part for Bobcat. He has fallen short many, many times but this is it.
Rating: Summary: Surreal, funny, and well worth watching Review: I had to be dragged into watching this movie, convinced it was going to be awful. My friend Mike won me over with the argument that it was really surrealist humor, not slapstick. He was right, and I was floored. What makes this movie work is the fact that everyone takes the clown life seriously. If Goldthwait's character, Shakes the Clown, was an incompetent clown, the movie would have been pathetic. Because his life is portrayed as a surrealist lifestyle, with clown bars and clown sex, the humor works. Many of the jokes are funny on multiple levels, including the classic: "Hey! You clowns are on dope!" Ignore the critics. Watch this movie.
Rating: Summary: Not to be taken seriously Review: I couldn't help it...I tried not too...but I am weak! I laughed like a maniac in this film. I know it's basic and 'slap-stick' - but so is life! I hate clowns - mimes are just as bad - so this movie was every thing I expected and more. Life is one big laugh - and so is this film! Don't take it too seriously!
Rating: Summary: IF YOU DO ONE THING, PURCHASE THIS MOVIE!!!!!! Review: EASILY THE FUNNIEST MOVIE I'VE EVER VIEWED. I'VE WATCHED IT OVER 30 TIMES AND IT NEVER GETS OLD. I KNOW ALL THE TRIVIA AND STRONGLY SUGGEST THIS MOVIE TO OTHERS!!! SHAKES AND BINKY ARE A RIOT!!
Rating: Summary: If you hate clowns as much as I do, you'll love this movie! Review: It's just something about this movie that makes me laugh everytime I see it. I've showed it to a few of my friends and they feel the same way.
