Summary: "I'm in a box, and I can't get out"
Review: Parker Posey was once quoted as wanting to stay in the independent film genre and not moving into the big budget films, and I say "Thank God!" We want her here! She is probably one of the smartest actors of our time, and this is probably one of the most brilliant scripts we may encounter. The fact that this movie relies on dialogue, and not sinking ships or laser wars, makes me think that there is hope for the cinema. I finished watching this film, rewound and watched it again, but not before shuddering at the fact that I found a movie that showcased incest so incredibly funny. Get this movie if you are interested in the fine art of acting because movies like this are what make it still an art.

Summary: Excellent, original, freakin' weird!
Review: This film is absolutely wonderful! The dialog is outstanding, and the one-liners are plentiful enough to let you watch the movie over and over and still laugh. Each person cast to play each character is perfect for the part (and yes, that includes Tori Spelling (she plays a bit of an air-headed naive girl)). Each performance is great. The movie just doesn't stop getting more and more weird even up to its strange and unexpected ending. Absolutely fabulous. And don't listen to the people who gave it a low rating, Look at how many more great ratings this movie has, and then realize that the people who didn't like it just aren't ready for this type of great cinema, and can always look back at Party Girl for regular indie comedy.

Summary: Smartest dark comedy ever
Review: Those who give it 1 star are out of their minds. Parker Posey's insanely deadon "acting" (I don't know whether she is or not) is worth 5 by itself. She makes incest seem almost ok. The script/screenplay is amazing, and the choreography and music matches the mood perfectly, as a tongue-in-cheek dark comedy telling an involving story breaking all reservations and paying off in a spectacular ending.Parker Posey.....worth the price of admission.

Summary: JUST SAY NO!
Review: I love Parker Posey, but this is bad. I remember feeling real uncomfortable watching this and wondering, "was it because of the taboo subject matter (incest)?" And then I realized that it was primarily the poor writing and directing. It wasn't provacative, just stupid. Parker fans will always be there for her in Party Girl, Clockwatchers, and even Waiting for Guffman.

Review: parker posey is a sweetheart in the movie, an elegant perfect Jackie-O. Her acting, along with the rest of the cast's is superb. And poor tori spelling, well, no one likes her anyway. there are some slightly disturbing screnes, however. but a good watch.

Review: As a major Parker Posey fan I cannot begin to describe how profoundly disappointing this horrible, wretched movie is. Incompetent, inept, and unwatchable, it is the contrived story of one thoroughly dysfunctional family on Thanksgiving of 1983. While the presence of Tori Spelling should be a tip off, I never thought Parker would wind up in a mess of this sort.

Review: GREAT movie. This and 'Party Girl' (another Parker Posey film) are two of my favorite movies. Let's see... well, I guess I like this film because it's unique, and there is a lot of very very good dialuoge. Dialouge. Dialog. That was wise. ;) Yeah well, it would help if I could spell or if this box had a spell check. Hehe. Not a comb, a brush! A brush you brush your hair with! Anyway where was I... Oh yeah! House of yes. I have seen this movie a zillion times and never get sick of it. Pretend he's not my brother, I do. :) [you have to be able to see past the incest-theme throughout the movie] And although I do not condone the use of Tori Spelling in movies (I have no doubt her Daddy was the only reason she got this role), I have made an exception for this fine film. I guess now on her resume, she can put that she was the Doughnut Queen in House Of Yes. Haha. So if you enjoy black comedies, plays, Parker Posey, good DIALOGUE (see, I can spell after all! I had a short memory lapse there...it is 17 minutes (and exactly 37 seconds) after 4am right now you know...give me a break!). Or if you enjoy independent films of any sort, I would tell you to watch this movie. But I'm just some crazy person, so you don't have to listen to me... I'm just throwing this review out there incase anyone is interested. Bubbles! No bubbles! Stop Giving me the 3rd Degree!! Hehehehe.... "You be him... and I'll be her." - Jackie-O
