Review: Saving Silverman is one of the funniest movies ever made! Don't listen to critics who said this was a waste of time. Obviously this movie wasn't meant to be classic cinema. It was meant to be funny. It tells the story of Darren Silverman and his two friends, Wayne and J.D, played to perfection by Steve Zahn and Jack Black. Darren meets Judith(Amanda Peet) who instantly destroys their friendship. His two buddies then hatch a crazy plan to break them up. There are some truly hilarious scenes in this movie. Jack Black and Steve Zahn steal many scenes with their antics throughout the movie. The whole solution to their problem is incredibly moronic, but that's what makes it funny. DVD is awesome with outtakes reel, good commentary and trailers from numerous movies. Do not miss this hilarious movie!

Review: If you want to watch a movie and laugh so hard that at the end your face hurts, then Saving Silverman is the movie for you. Steve Zahn and Jack Black play Silverman's hilarious best friends. These guys are so funny you'll laugh just watching them run. Amanda Peet provides the cynical humor as playing Darren Silverman's (Jason Biggs) girlfriend. The movie is worth watching just to stare at Peet and Amanda Detmer. The movie has a pretty original story and wity comedy. Get the R-rated version. I went to SU...Subway Univesity.

Review: This movie is excellent. It's true that the writing is not possibly the best, but there are so many slapstick stunts, and people doing stupid things, that this movie is hilarious. It is funny from beginning to end, and it is fast paced. Excellent acting, excellent directing, funny characters. A must see!!

Review: You may have seen the horrible reviews given to this movie when it was released in theaters. Well, don't pay attention to them. After seeing this movie, I felt bad that not enough credit was given to the people who made this movie. I laughed so hard during some scenes that I started crying! Jack Black, Steve Zahn, Jason Biggs, and Amanda Peete are all wonderful actors who portray hilarious characters I will never forget. As soon as the DVD comes out, I'm buying it! This movie is hilarious! If you don't want to buy it, at least rent it and give it a try. If you're a fan of crazy comedies, I definitely suggest you see this awesome film!!!

Review: In 2001, this little-known comedy film known as Saving Silverman was released. Unfortunately, the film did very poorly do to the fact that critics disliked it. I can't believe how underrated this film is - it's one of the funniest movies I've ever seen! Here's the basic story. Darren (Jason Biggs), J.D (Jack Black), and Wayne (Steve Zahn) have been friends since elementary school. Now they are in their thirties. Darren works in an old folks home, J.D. works at Subway, and Wayne started a pest control business. Though the guys are quite different in many ways, they have one major thing in common - Their love for Neil Diamond. They even started their own Neil Diamond tribute band! Unforutnately, Darren becomes depressed when a woman turns him down for a mime (I'm not making this up), and he thinks he'll never meet the right woman. But through an odd twist of fate that night in a bar, he meets Judith (Amanda Peet.) Unfortunately, Judith is downright rude and forbids Darren to see his friends. Darren doesn't know any better because he feels if he breaks up with Judith, he may never love again. Of course, Wayne and J.D. aren't gonna take this. They stage Judith's death, lock her in their garage, and make every attempt possible to reunite Darren with his high school sweetheart, Sandy (Amanda Detmer.) I won't say anything else, because I don't want to spoil any surprises. But I'll say this - R. Lee Ermey, everyone's favorite drill sergeant turned actor, makes an appearance as the boys' high school coach, and I almost guarantee he'll make you laugh. Even Neil Diamond makes a cameo! The R rated version of the movie is NOT the one that was released in theatres. It features several dialogue and footage changes, plus it adds in two deleted scenes. If you get the DVD, make sure it's the version you buy (the cover for the R rated one is white, not green, and it says that it is the R rated version.) If you've seen any other comedy film with Jason Biggs, Steve Zahn, and/or Jack Black, you know these guys are funny, AND THIS MOVIE BRINGS THEM, THREE OF THE FUNNIEST ACTORS AROUND, TOGETHER! Take my advice - Ignore the critics and see this movie if you're looking for a good comedy.

Summary: WORTH SAVING A COPY FOR YOURSELF!!
Review: With all the 20 something comedies out there to choose from, Saving Silverman is a laugh riot from beginning to end to beat all the others. Darren Silverman, played by Jason Biggs of American Pie fame, is adorable here as a sensitive guy who believes his one and only love Sandy (Amanda Detmer)was the answer until she went off and joined the family freak show at the circus. Darren has two best friends. There is Wayne the exterminator known as "Cowboy Wayne", in a really likeable role played by Steve Zahn. Then there is JD, the slovenly Jack Black more recently known as Shallow Hal. The three have been friends since public school, and even formed a Neil Diamond cover band as a tribute to their hero. In fact, the cameo appearances of Neil Diamond himself are wonderfully peppered all over the film, which is something you don't see too often. All is well until Darren gets depressed that his heartlight will never be turned on again after being rejected by a mime-dating girl post concert. While sitting at a bar, JD and Wayne spy Judith (Amanda Peet) sauntering into the bar. After rejecting Waynes approach Darren is forced to say hello by Wayne who lies and tells Darren that Judith wants to meet him. After being rejected also, Judith changes her mind when a far more repulsive male tries to pick her up. They start to date, and Judith takes over everything about Darren, even the shape of his behind! Amanda Peet plays this role superbly as the cold and calculating control freak who takes over Darrens life. He is the puppet, and she, the puppet master as she tells Wayne and JD who try to reason her away from Darren. After all, they are losing their best friend, AND THE BAND! Yes, no more Neil for Darren, and no more Wayne or JD as Judith tries to see to it. After seeing their friend slipping away, Wayne gets the idea to Kidnap Judith and fake her death to get Darren back to normal, and maybe fix him up with Sandy who they try to reunite him with his one and only true love. How does this all go? For a truly hilarious non-stop entertaining film, you need to watch for yourself. This is a superb ensemble cast and they work perfectly together. The dialogue is sharp and witty, and the slapstick foibles are side-splittingly funny. Amanda Peet cannnot be beat as the Martial Arts expert girlfriend from hell, Zahn as Wayne and Black as JD make a great team in their united effort to "save" Darren from his current brainwashed by female oblivion. Just a wonderful mixture of Stun guns, chains, nuns who pump iron, a brand new use for mail, and a real chemistry between Peet and Zahn in a surpsrisingly sexy but unfortunately fleeting scene that leaves you wanting more make Saving Silverman, one of the finest comedies that I have enjoyed more than any I have seen in a long time. Don't miss it.

Summary: Not the best, but not the worst
Review: Darren Silverman (Jason Biggs) and his Neil Diamond obssessed best friends J.D. (the hilarious Jack Black) and Wayne (the even funnier Steve Zahn)are inseperable- that is, until Darren becomes engaged to Uber-Wench Judith (Amanda Peet). In order to save Silverman (hence the title), J.D. and Wayne kidnap Judith and stage her death by robbing a grave, putting the stiff in Judith's BMW, and pushing it over a cliff. They figure if they reunite Darren with his high school sweetheart Sandra, the sparks will ignite and Darren will be with the "right" woman. Judith has other plans, though, and after using her "smarts" to escape twice (Did I tell you she also knows martial arts? Big surprise.), she intends to break the whole Darren/Sandra thing up. This script was probably meant to be hilarious, but merely came off as strange- from the H.S. football coach on trial for murder, to J.D. and Wayne kidnapping Neil Diamond (yes, he has a cameo)so as to convince Darren to marry Sandra. I gave the movie 3 stars, though, for the excellent comic performance of Jack Black ("High Fidelity", "The Cable Guy") and Steve Zahn ("Reality Bites", "That Thing You Do!", "Riding in Cars With Boys"). If the director had cast other comedic actors in their place, the movie would not have been worth watching due to a weak script. Definitely one to catch on cable before you decide to buy.

Review: I liked this comedy since it is well-done, although the writing is only C+. The characters are not my favorites, but they do an OK job. The nuns are especially funny. It is far better than American Pie and worlds better than There's Something About Mary. For those into this kind of teen humor, it is a good comedy that moves along very well.

Review: I laughed a lot in this movie. Yes, sometimes the screenplay is ludicrous, but not ludicrous and disgusting in the style of "Scary Movie 2". After all, Black and Zahn are top of the game, and everytime they're on screen they're great, even when the writers and director give them low quality material. I think this is a good comedy, evenmore if you compare it with stupid and bad taste comedies that comes to the market daily.

Review: This movie has no real meaning, but nevertheless I was laughing all the way through. The scenes were so random that you didn't know what is next. If you enjoy American Pie, you will probably enjoy this movie. Jason Biggs plays a "nice" and "respectful" guy, while his friends are immature and disrespectful. The movie (as you probably figure) revolves around women. If you are looking for something funny to watch, check this movie out.
