Summary: Absolutley bloody mental !
Review: long live Hunter S.Thompson origonator of Gonzo journalism whilst back in the U.K. this year I bought another copy of the book after having read the book 10 years ago I allways hoped a film would be made and i'll be danged what a a completely intense movie made to shock and entertain you to the upmost .Johnny Depp - top bloke! and having hung around with thompson for a while driving the big red shark , he has got his character down to a tee. I would only say that one would enjoy this film if they have experienced acid beforehand. so go ahead , do some and watch the movie and you will pickle yourself laughing , thats for sure !!

Summary: Once the tape stops, ya feel like you're fryin' again
Review: I like another reviewer missed this movie in the theatres, and I now kick myself for not being able to experience it larger than life. Nevertheless, what an awesome portrail of an acid trip. Tweaking all night, laughing at sober people as the drug shows you the dramatic scenes of melting carpets creeping slowly up the walls. My favorite scene without a doubt is Raul Duke, slinking up to the hotel check in counter and loudly blurts, "Hi there!" SO TRUE! Your mind even plays trick on our vocal volume levels...have ya noticed? Grasping the rim of the counter, sinking lower towards the floor as the hostess' face almost reaches a three-sixty he mutters "What's next.....whats the score here?" CLASSIC!

Summary: Visual Assault at it's best!
Review: Never heard of Hunter Thompson - never heard of the movie either until I saw it on the video store wall. One of the most mentally stimulating movies I have seen in a long time! The scenes drip of an acid trip while the dialogue speaks from a mushroom haze. Don't miss this movie!

Summary: This should be a one-line summary of my review.
Review: I must say that I get angry whenever I hear people bash a movie simply because the filmmaker failed to take a 300 page book and tell it's story within 2 hours (it can't be easy). Along with feeling angry, I feel pity twords those of you who complain because you usually end up missing a great movie simply because you expect to see the book come to life. I used to be the same way and I have come to realize that all it does is ruin the movie for me. Here's a word of advice to all of you - don't go in to a movie and expect a book, dont expect anything. Just watch the movie.

Summary: The critics were wrong
Review: Terry Giliam's vision is brought to life in this stunning film. From the first scene to the last it's nothing but pure entertainment. Johnny Depp gives his best performance as Raul Duke and Benicio Del Toro (Excellent as usual)is great as Dr. Gonzo. But the real winner here is Gilliam himself. He goes beyond anything he's ever done before and shows more originality than any Michael Bay in the business. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is funny as hell and just as trippy.

Summary: I read the book about a year ago upon
Review: a tip from my dad, who love Hunter. I was 20 then, and still have to rake his freakin yard! Ok, anyhow, I was quite amazed by Hunter's memiors, It had the kind of enterprising spirit of recklessness that I hardly ever see by ANYBODY. So I found out the movie maybe 1 month later, being done by Cox, who I think would be great for doing the job. then Gilliam takes the helm... I knew it was going bad after that news, not exactly because gilliam did it, but because it was getting ripped out of somebody's hands and being put into another's in midstream. I think the book could easily be adapted, and possibly Cox's adaptation was more insightful, but the film was bad, very in my opinion... First off, Where was sypathy for the devil????????????? Then the movie went into a complete misadventure about the two being juked on a cabinet of drugs. Only about 3 minutes in the whole film have Hunter's introspection about the sour reminants of the 60's, and it's brought to us as if we already knew about the whole LSD scene. I know very little, I wanted some history. Ok, maybe that isn't a necessity, but the movie was mainly a report of what they did on their vacation to LV. In fact, 95% was. It's really a shame, I like Depp and the other guy was pretty cool too. I think the main problem was that the writer(s) of the final script felt some need to keep it authentic, hence, putting in every event that happens. He would have been better off just making some changes. Anyhow, One star at best

Summary: I was on drugs...AND LOVED IT!
Review: This is the perfect movie to watch in any altered state, high, tripping, drunk, overly tired after staying up for three days straight to find out what effects you'll get, or speeded up. Fact of the matter is that this movei, the book, and the entire genre under which this is aimed at is a drug-crazed society looking to see how hard someone can stick it to the man. For a younger person such as myself, this is a great way to see what was going on in the 70's besides war and protest. There were good things happening in the decade in which I was born, and Fear and Loathing explains them to me. Terry Gilliam did a superb job with this adaptation, realizing what the audience wanted to see, and giving it to us in heapfulls Almost like a funny and non-violent "Natural Born Killers," this is a great movie about the ultimate roadtrip as an exploration of freedom and independance, much like Easy Rider, but without the hardship. Johnny Depp was brilliant and convincing as always, able to morph into any role he's given, and DelTorro was fabulous as his attorney, dispencing more hallucinagenic's than legal advice. A great buddy movie, and the perfect way to describe What Could Be Done back when freedom was the in thing.

Summary: the best movie ive ever seen
Review: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is by far the best and funniest movie I have ever seen. I dunno how many times I've seen it now, but I do suggest watching it on a trip :)

Summary: Pretty darn cool
Review: The strange thing is that when I first viewed this DVD it was difficult sitting through it, but afterwards while away on vacation I couldn't wait to get back home to see it again. It sort of has to sink in and I'm going to watch it again right after I finish typing this. I wonder what its like to see it stoned, hmm... :-)
