Review: Of course, this is sickeningly pale in comparison to the big screen experience but if you need an experience that is close enough, pick up this DVD. The extra scenes (most of which occured in the book, although some of them weren't really necessary) are great. The sharp detail of the DVD makes all the visual effects look that much more stunning and uncomfortably real. Pick this up if you're a big fan of the movie. You will not be disappointed.

Review: The reviews I've read only confirm my belief that most great works are either adored or loathed. Either you got the whole message and loved every minute or you couldn't wait for it to be over. It would definitly help to read and enjoy the book before watching the movie. I doubt anyone could have hoped for a better transfer from book to screen. There is so much energy in this movie if your eyes are pointed the right way.Some fans only seem to appreciate F&L as a drug-culture flick, but it really goes alot deeper than that. It's about two guys desperatly searching for the world they once knew and attempts to tear down alot of the "hippie" ideologies that many were stuck with after the summer of love. A real masterpiece from both Thompson and Gilliam.

Review: One word: briliant. This is the funniest movie in the history of film making. It has a certain appeal to it, one which has me watching it over and over and over. But dont get caught up in trying to figure out what the movie is about....that is the biggest mistake made by the people who didnt like it. Why does a movie need a plot? IT DOESNT this movie is funny as hell and has quotes in it that will go down as some of the best ever....oH GeeZ DiD i JuST SaY THaT oR THiNK iT?? WaS i TaLKiNG?? DiD THeY HeaR Me??

Summary: Midgets and American Flags
Review: I love this movie. It rabidly displays the true world of a drug addict with such detailed animosity unlike any other movie I've ever witnessed. Every time I see it (next time will be sixty or something like that) I pick up another massive symbol, metaphor, or satire of anything from the cowboy on the phone talking about pituitary glands to all of the stereotypes of the people in this crazy world, like the lizard scene in the hotel bar, satirizing the desperate sexual inuendos of people in Las Vegas and people in general. Done with such intellegence and wit, Fear And Loathing slams you into a world of white rabbits and circus clowns from all walks of life. If you don't have the brain for the depth of this movie, I suggest you watch something buy that Disney guy or some other mindless drable to eat away your free time. To all those who're not experienced in the light of this grand movie: sink to the level of a dumb beast sometime and find what cannot be found on your straight and narrow path. Purple Haze and Insurrectos Forever.

Review: Thompson was indead a pro at what he did. The sick and twisted world that he lived was portrayed by Depp in a sort of masterful way. But besides Depp the very intricate cinematography in this film was amazing. I first saw the movie and loved it, but didn't know what it was really all about. After watching the film a few more times and also watching "Where the Buffalo Roam" I obtained a greater sense of Thompson. Now, in the middle of "The Great Shark Hunt" I still find myself renting the movie that I love so much and just waitin until the damn price goes down!

Review: This movie was horrible. It was just like being around really annoying drunk people for too long. There was no point to this movie and nothing happened at all. Only for those people who do hardcore drugs. Very dissappointing.
