Rating: Summary: cute Review: I'm one of those pathetic star wars fans who was motivated to see this movie in theaters (I would have probably waited to rent it or watch it on ppv otherwise) because of the ep 2 teaser trailer. This movie is great. :) Very cute. I loved Boo. She was absolutely adorable. This movie is very original and is great for kids. I still think TS2 is better, but I don't know. Also I found it great that Boo had a doll in her room from TS2. I love how pixar is always combining their movies together.
Rating: Summary: The Movie of the year Review: The movie I saw in the theater was a blast because it had a lot of parts in it that was funny to me and to all of the people who were on the same movie as me at the same time as me and who thought the movie was a blast.
Rating: Summary: PLEASANTLY SURPRISED! Review: I must admit I wasn't too excited when my girlfriend insisted I go see a cartoon however I must admit - she was right when she told me I'd like it. The movie was incredible. What can I say - not to mention just how amazing how smooth all of the cartoon graphics were, etc. but it actually had a plot and a climax, etc. I sincerely enjoyed it and it's a great movie for all ages. I *highly* recommend it!
Rating: Summary: Overshadowed by Potter but not outdone by it Review: This movie in terms of bucks has the poor fortune to be released two weeks before Harry Potter. That is the only thing not going for it. Monsters Inc is a winnner on almost every level. In terms of computer graphics and display it is just wonderful. Rich and visual. In terms of cast and performances we have two big winners. Crystal & Goodman deciding to be together for the filming paid off as they bring themselves into the role, (not an easy task when you can't even leave the eyes to act from.) Jennifer Tilly and James Colburn were credible but their roles could have been read by anyone. In terms of Plot and entertainment it was very funny. Crystal's character and Goodman's play off each other perfectly, kudos to the writers. I particularly loved at the end when Crystal is doing the standup for the kid who doesn't get it. That scene shows comedy as a non intelectual excersize and is a triumph for all of us who laugh louder at the stooges than at Frazier or Ellen. It was unclear at least to me what the villians actual plot was. (Kidnap and torture for the maximum terror?) The plot device seemed weak but kids would get it on the gut level. Finally as a kids movie it is just plain fun. Lots of visual jokes for the youngest and plenty of fast one liners that work for the slightly older one. Mike's excitement at even his totally blocked picture is the same joy I see when my son has a picture on the wall of his classroom. It is understood and enjoyed by kids and is clean. That makes it worth the investment.
Rating: Summary: MONSTERS INC. SHOWS HUMOR IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN FEAR Review: I'm not gonna give the ending away, but this is one of the most touching PIXAR films there are, child or adult. You'll feel good at the ending. Guaranteed. The storyline begins as all the creatures each go through a door leading to a child's closet to scare the tar out of them ... for ENERGY?? Then this child appears in the port and becomes stimulated to Sully, but he uses all his effort with his one-eyed pal to bring her home, but not without a few bumps on the road ahead. Monstropolis changes for the better at the touching film finale. What's it like? We'll just let you discover that. This film should take the fear of monsters out of every child today.
Rating: Summary: KITTY!!! Review: PIXAR has raised the hurdle of animation again. I didn't think they could outdo their Toy Story series, but Monsters, Inc. has done it. The animation, colors, casting, direction are all aces. More important than the technical aspects, this movie runs on heart. Since we saw this fine film, everytime I see the poster or TV trailer, 'Kitty !!' automatically pops into my head. 'Kitty' is the petname that the little girl (Boo) assigns to Sully, the lead monster character. Nobody could've portrayed Sully but John Goodman. The story follows Sully and his sidekick Mike as they evolve from uncaring monsters into loving friends of the little girl who was being used by another sinister monster in his attempt to take over the scream factory. I won't give away anything else, but this is a film for the whole family. The kids will love it, without the parents being bored. Our kids are grown up, but we went to see it anyway and totally enjoyed it.
Rating: Summary: Monsters Inc. Review: I saw this movie with my 13 year old brother. He enjoyed it more than me, but I'm more of a critizizer honestly. It was a cute little movie I may buy it but it's only a slim chance. It was okay and the little girl was funny. Kitty! was her main line, you'll find out what she means. Go see it I recomened it.
Rating: Summary: Meaningful, but not funny. Review: The story was innovative, and it did very well teach kids a great lesson that Making people happy is better than making people angry or sad. The blowing of the monster's fur was very detailed and inpressive, my favorite graphic part of the movie only second to the door storage hall with all the convey belts.I did not however like the setting of the story; the range of the story was too limited. I would have liked to see more of what happened in the human world, and better showing of Monster world's society and so on. Shrek was much better, funnier I mean.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: Fantastic visual effects. The cartoon characters have hair which moves, same animation quality as in Final Fantasy. Great story line. Well worth the ticket price and I can't wait until it comes out on DVD.
Rating: Summary: Pretty Good Review: I saw this movie thinking it was going to be like the greatest movie ever.I was a little upset that the movie didn't have much comedy.Even though this isn't very funny it's like a drama played with cartoon characters. The movie makes you understand the value of love. Here are a few reasons to see the movie: Made by the great movie company,PIXAR. Has well-played characters in the movie. Great graphical, music and special effects. So overall go see it you won't be sorry.
