Rating: Summary: Perfect for children and grown ups Review: As I have no children of my own, I must admit I love kids movies. I buy them all the time, possibly I'm trying to recapture my childhood. Well this movie certainly accomplished that. It was cute, funny, delightful etc. With a nice smattering of "grown-up" humor, so parents won't lose their minds after little Billy asks to watch it for the 100th time. Being a Pixar film the animation was top notch, spectacular really. Very life like while still maintaining that charm animated films have. The voice acting was perfect, and very suited to the characters, and by using recognizable voices, it succeeded in humanizing the monsters further. The story, while predictable was well written. The script flawless. The bad guys were very bad, but at the same time like any good villian you can sympathize with them. This is a great movie for children and grown up children like myself. Buy it. Rent it. Just see it.
Rating: Summary: Go get it!! Review: This animation is very well done! Great graphics, cute characters and nice story plot. The extras in this dvd are very good too. Nice picture and sound quality. This should be in your dvd collection!!!
Rating: Summary: Adorable Review: Perfect for parents who want to sit thru their kids' movies without throwing up. A visual and aural treat for everyone. Visit a world where monsters are just as scared of kids, and are just trying to keep the lights on in their world by eliciting screams from the little ones. clocks in at a brief 1:25, but has nearly three hours of special features. You people who want to be critical of this movie and others of its kind should go soak your heads-you watch too many movies, and it's getting to you. Find another hobby.
Rating: Summary: best movie EVER Review: This is the best movie for kids along with ice age and I would recomend it to anyone.
Rating: Summary: very entertaining Review: will keep the kids or grandkids busy for a couple hours
Rating: Summary: All DVDs should be like this Review: I'm not going to say much about the film itself because basically if you dig on computer animated films, you'll like this one. Instead I'd like to comment on the DVD. It is an empirical fact, proven in many Digital Video Disc labratories, that this DVD is flawless. It comes in both Widescreen and Pan&Scan, on the same disc and side. You just stick it in and pick the format. And the picture and sound quality are crisp whatever way you view it, although DTS 5.1 is only available in widescreen. The second disc has plenty of nice features: - The outtakes are very clever and funny. - The company play is great too. - The short film "For the Birds"' is nice though the birds can get annoying. Thank goodness it was only 10 minutes. - "Mikes New Car" is basically a 4 minute scene where Mike and Sulley sit in a car with too many confusing, and punishing features, mostly animated slapstick. - Boo's Door Game takes you threw 6 rooms looking for pieces of her door. In each room there are various objects you can highlight using the DVD arrows. Some objects have pieces of the door behind them, others Mike comments on. I think it's aimed at young children, but I doubt a kid could operate the DVD remote in order to play. - The behind the scenes stuff is really interesting. It gives an overview of all the different parts of making a computer animated film and also shows some early screen tests with various Sulley and Mike models doing a variety of movements. Really neat stuff. - And much more, but nothing that really amazed If you want to see what a good DVD is like, get this one.
Rating: Summary: Another great movie from Pixar! Review: I thought the story line was excellent. A very different and very clever view of the monster in the closet that scares most every child. This movie has a few scary moments, but for the most part it is just funny with a few sad moments. You have your choice of Widescreen or Full screen plus 2 animated short films, games, and behind the scenes stuff that give hours of entertainment for all. I believe John Goodman (the voice of James P Sulivan) should lend his voice to more of these animated films as he does such a good job. He is able give the right tone for whatever the situtation calls for, whetther happy or sad. Billy Crystal also did a great job as Mike Wazoski. It totally cracks me up when the little girl (Boo) keeps saying his name. And James Colburn was excellent as Henry Waternoose who is the boss. Without a doubt, just a well put together movie for the whole family to enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Pixar Does It Again Review: Disney & Pixar have done it again. Imaginative story (bottling up kid's screams for energy), neat and likeable characters, amazing computer animation. Hollywood voice talents of John Goodman (Sully), Billy Crystal (Wazowski) and Steve Buscemi (Randall). Nice extras: funny outtakes, short cartoons "Mike's New Car" and unrelated (Oscar winning) Pixar "For The Birds", making of Monsters Inc documentaries. 93 minutes of pure entertainment. I watched this movie 3x the first week I owned it. The computer animated movies keep getting better. From "Toy Story", to "Ants" and "A Bug's Life", "Shrek"... and now "Monsters Inc". I can't wait to see what's next! A great family movie for the parents AND their kids.
Rating: Summary: Great script, incredible 3D graphics modeling Review: Top storytelling Top graphics modeling of Sulley's hair
Rating: Summary: Another Pixar hit! Review: Monsters Inc. is by far one of the best films in many years for the entire family. The animation is top notch and the story is well done. My kids just absolutely love it. Best of all, are the cartoon shorts which are included in the 2nd DVD. "For the Birds" played with the film when it was in theaters, but my children can watch the new "Mike's New Car" over and over again and never tire of it. I cannot say enough good about this film. This is a must add to your DVD collection
