Rating: Summary: We love Boo Review: I never thought an animated character could be as absolutely adorable as Boo is...as an adult, I was hooked from the moment I saw Sully's animated fur blowing back and forth as he snored. As a parent, I just had to see Boo's eyes. My daughter is 3 1/2 and loves this movie. She gets a little scared at times, but the movie is done in a way that she realizes it is all in good fun.
Rating: Summary: Monster fun for the whole family Review: Here is a fun animated feature sure to appeal to the kid in us all. Furry Sully and his one-eyed friend Mike work at Monsters Inc, a company devoted to scaring the lving daylights out of humans. One day a little girl named Boo manages to enter their world through her closet, and it is up to Mike and Sully to find the correct door in the factory to return her home. The only problem is Sully finds himself becoming very attached to her. Features terrific voice performances by Billy Crystal as Mike and John Goodman as Sully, some of it may be a bit scary for very young kids, but MONSTERS INC is perfect family entertainment, with humor that will appeal to adults as well.
Rating: Summary: Pixar does it again Review: I anxiously awaited Monsters, Inc. I have loved everything they have done so far, and I loved this movie.I must add though, that it is my least favorite of Pixars feature films, but I still give it 5 stars. The reason I like it less is that there was less character development. In Toy Story 1 and 2, and A Bug's Life, I thought the characters were deeper, richer, and I was deeply engaged in caring about how things turned out for them. With Monsters, Inc. I liked the characters, but they had little depth, so I didn't care as much what happened to them. This probably has a bit to do with the fact that the characters were Monsters, and were more 'cartoony' than other characters. Also, the humor was a bit more sparse. In Pixar's previous efforts, it seemed lit every other line was filled with sharp, witty, humorous lines. In Monsters, it was a bit thinner. Overall, I loved the movie. The only complaints are relative to the near perfection if its predecessors.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding! Review: This movie is a technological marvel. Pixar uses computer animation to create a movie that is both enjoyable and interesting. Many people were once afraid of (or still are) monsters in the closet, but what if the monsters were more scared of us than we were of them? What if they were just doing their job? The movie is sure to entertain and delight viewers of all ages, and the DVD quality is very good. I am not so impressed by the special features. I would've expected more on a two DVD set, although there are a few really neat things on the second disc. Overall, I would definitely take a look at Monsters, Inc.
Rating: Summary: 5 stars at the least!!!! Review: I bought this the day it came out for my sister and ever scince she has watched it 2 times a day at least. You can't sit through this movie without laughing out loud. It is a good movie for humans (and monsters) of all ages!
Rating: Summary: Monsters Unite for this wonderful DVD Review: Did you ever wonder what the Monsters do when they are not waiting to bound out from under your bed, clawing at the air? With the release of "Monsters, Inc.", the secret is out! This is a wonderful film for kids age 3 to 103. People over 103 will probably get antsy during the last 20 minutes or so. It was knocked down from the first animated feature Oscar by SHREK. And although SHREK was far 'hipper' and trendy, the Monsters have a clearer storyline that results in a child's understanding without boring the adults. And this new Double DVD set makes it an even greater treat. Disney re-teamed with PIXAR, who created and continually redefine the computer-generated film. Their TOY STORY and the sequel were both ingenious. Pixar's other offering A BUG'S LIFE was also a very well done film but it did aim for a younger audience. But, the monsters hit with a theme similar to the Toy Story films. The film has phenomenal computer art and character design, both creative and easy to understand. But with all these simple concepts, there are a couple whopper surprises in storytelling, especially the concept and execution of the 'flying doors'. Bill Crystal and John Goodman are natural voice artists as the two main characters, Mike Wazowski and James Sullivan. Jennifer Tilly, James Coburn and Steve Buscemi round out the main character pool. The whole thing supported by a bouncy musical score by Randy Newman. The DVD itself is a treat, from the widescreen version of the film prepared for 16by9 screens (There is also a pan & scan version on the same disc) with commentary by the creators. The second disc is devoted to the filmmaking process and includes Pixar's classic "film outtakes", the Academy Award winning short "For the Birds" and a new short about Mike's car appropriately called "Mike's new car." There is literally hours worth of material to peruse. Disney has again raised the bar on DVD content and packaging.
Rating: Summary: 23-19!!! Review: The World of monsters is powered by children's screams and Sully (John Goodman) is the top scarer of them all. Sully is aided by an one-eyed monster called Mike (Billy Crystal). If a human child (or any item owned by a human child) enters the world of monsters, 23-19 is yelled and the CDA comes along and takes care of it. A good and funny movie!
Rating: Summary: One of the best! Review: This is a great addition to any kids collection. This has all of the charm of older animated features, but the spunk of today's youth is evident throughout.
Rating: Summary: Awesome Movie and DVD package Review: The movie is great...whoever came up with the story line has quite the imagination. My nephew (11 years old) loves this movie and so does my neice (7 years old). The DVD has 2 discs. One has the movie in wide screen or full screen. It also has the out takes like the other Pixar movies have had. The 2nd disc has the "extra's" including short animations "Mike's New Car" and 2 others (can't remember the names). It also has games that can be played right on the dvd player with the remote. It has a CD/ROM section that I have not investigated. There are two sections labeled "for humans only" and "for monsters only" on the 2nd disc also which has the play that Mike monster talks about in the actual movie. There is also a music video and sneek peeks at new movies coming out for Disney in theatres and for sale. This is a great addition to your collection and is well worth the price for all the extra's that are on the 2 disc set.
Rating: Summary: Great move for all ages. Review: Before Lilo and Stich came out I thought this was the only good movie Disney released in years. Funny, but not funny as to insult your I.Q. Good movie I felt.
