Summary: The best pixar film of all
Review: When we first went to see this movie, I laughed so hard I cried. It's got a great plot, and the voices to all the fish characters are superb, especially Ellen Degeneres as Dory.

When Marlin, an overprotective father clownfish loses his son, Nemo, to a dentist diver in the coral reef, he is determined to find him. A while back, he made a promise to never let anything happen to Nemo ever since his wife, and the rest of his unhatched children were eaten by a shameless Barracuda. On his adventure, he meets up with Dory, a forgetful blue tang who's forgetfulness may just help the both of them along the way. Meanwhile, Nemo is thrust into the Dentist' office tank, with a couple of fish who have been locked up in the tank so long, it's starting to get to them. Maybe Nemo, the smallest of them all, can somehow help them escape. And with the help of a bunch of other sea creature friends whose natural ways can be decieving, Marlin and Dory can find Nemo before he suffers a strange fate.

The visuals of the ocean are gorgeous, and kids find out wonderful information about the big blue on the DVD, and are having fun while doing it. The DVD has a lot of good special features on it, including a preview to the new movie from Pixar, "The Incredibles". They couldn't have done a better job making this film. Don't regret buying it. It's fun for the whole family.

Summary: How Nemo does it
Review: The issues revolving around a dead mother, a single father, and a handicapped son are treated with careful grace in this film. The adversity the characters triumph is more personal than the creatures of the deep. Learning to love as well as let a child live life despite the danger is powerfully difficult for many parents. I also enjoyed how DeGeneres' fish wasn't exclusively comic relief. The movie would have set a conflicting tone if the forgetful fish didn't find a way as well (I'm staying vague so as not to spoil the film).

The dangers of the deep are so well personified. I love when the movie is able to stop and let us get to know the sharks and the sea turtles yet still keep the feeling that the story is moving. The subtleties of plot are as beautiful as the scenery.

It's difficult to write happy stories. This is one of the best ones I've ever encountered.

Summary: Don't like animated movies, but....
Review: This movie was awesome. And I'm 47 yrs old. Simple: buy it, rent it, see it!!

Summary: Great movie
Review: This movie became my favorite animated film. I really just wanted to add a vote, so if you are looking for a review this is not it. However, I do want to say that as a 16 year old, I have told too many people to count to go see this movie, and even before I saw it, my friends, older cousins who took their kids to see it, and my younger cousins all were greatly impressed. It gained greater ground than even The Lion King, Monsters, Inc., and even Toy Story had gained. And that is saying alot.

Summary: WHALE OF A TALE
Review: What is so amazing about this film is that while obviously animated, there were times I forgot I was watching an animated film. This movie is visually awesome, with superior animation, and a fine cast of wonderful characters. Hats off to Ellen DeGeneres (whom I have never really liked) for her brilliant characterization of Dorrie. Also to Alexander Gould's innocence as Nemo and Albert Brooks wonderful voicing of Marlin. There are so many great vignettes in this movie, they are hard to single out; I loved the turtles; the shark and his "fish are not food" program, and the wonderfully funny members of the fish tank. Who thought Willem Dafoe could ever be so charming? And Geoffrey Rush is a hoot as Nigel. The "mine" sea gulls are also brilliant.
There's nothing wrong with this film. It's just a breath of fresh air and a certain winner for the Oscar for animated film this year!

Summary: My all-time favorite movie
Review: I really really love "Nemo" more than any other movie ever made in the whole entire world. I'm sure whoever hated that movie actually didn't see the movie, because that's not what kids are talking about. This is a really really outstanding movie and it is (I MEAN IT IS) the best movie ever made. My favorite movie use to be "Harry Potter 2 then I'm sure that "Nemo" will be better than this and I knew it was going to be.

Marlin (Albert Brooks) and his wife Coral (Elizabeth Perkins) at the very beginning of the movie go live at the drop-off to raise their kids. Marlin thought it was going to be an excellent neighborhood, but then a barracuda attacks his wife and his 399 babies and 1 was missing and Marlin decided to name this little son Nemo.

Nemo (Alexander Gould) goes on his first day to school and he meets his new friends. He decides to listen to his new friends instead of his dad on touching the boat. He gets kidnap by scuba-divers when he didn't listen to his dad and Nemo gets trapped in a fish tank in a dentist's office that is all the way in Sydney Australia. So Marlin and Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) go out of the Great Barrier Reef (their hometown) and go out to find Nemo.

Marlin and Dory go out to find Nemo but they get a meeting with the sharks and the leader Bruce (Barry Humphres). He runs out and then asks the School Fish (John Ratzenberg) for help and goes to the trench. Marlin ignores Dory and they land into a field of jellyfish. They meet Crush (Andrew Stanton) and Squirt (Nicholas Bird) and all of the dude sea turtles in the EAC and go out for a whale ride to find Nemo. Will Marlin and Dory ever find Nemo before Darla (Lulu Ebeling) kills him? Or will Darla kill Nemo? How old is Crush? Only one way to find out. WATCH THE MOVIE. (You will get a surprise shock on how old Crush is)

From some other Disney movies. For the 2D animated movies like "Piglet's Big Movie" which was so so so cute and Piglet is adorable. "Brother Bear" which was kind of like "The Lion King", but way better than "The Lion King" and "Brother Bear" was funny and wonderful. "The Lion King" is an average.

Some non-animated movies like Disney. "Freaky Friday" which was freaky funny and freaky excellent and "Freaky Friday" is just one of my favorite movies in between the "Toy Story" movies. "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" was a really good movie. "Holes" was a cool movie. However, "Miracle" was just awful.

Other Pixar movies: (only one of them isn't one of my favorite movies)

"Toy Story" was a classic. Like excellent and one of my favorite movies.

"A Bug's Life" wasn't the greatest movies. It would probably be the worst Pixar movie, but it was okay. It's not one of my favorite movies.

"Toy Story 2" was better than "Toy Story" and more cooler.

"Monsters, Inc." was outstanding and cool. It was an awesome movie.

I felt like though, that this movie ran the most outstanding story out of any other movie with a story it went. "Finding Nemo" also had lots of intellegence and lots of great humor. Don't go see awful movies instead of "Nemo" ("Gigli" e.g), because "Nemo" is way better. "Finding Nemo" had lots of realistic stuff and even more realistic than "SpongeBob SquarePants" (Nickelodeon's popular Nicktoon).

"Finding Nemo" is my favorite out of all of these Pixar movies and this movie is the best movie ever made. Everyone should go see "Finding Nemo". This is a treat for all ages. I, Nemo the Clownfish, 0% don't really care if you are turning 13 or if you are a growing up, or if you are a teenager, STILL, "Finding Nemo" is something you should see. My e-mail adress is nemofan517@aol.com, e-mail me if you have any acceptions, questions or comments.

This ran the best original screenplay, and had great music to it.

Summary: 4 and a half rating
Review: I will not go into the details and synopsis of the plot and characters, as other reviewers have summarized them eloquently.
Anyone-children as well as adults-that possesses a sense of humor will laugh out loud through out the whole movie-especially at Dori, the short-term memory disordered blue fish.
Besides the brilliant visual animation, halarity, and smart story-line, I especially admired Disney's first-time portrayel of characters that were not "perfect", wich had nothing to do with "magic spells"-as in Beauty and the Beast.
Nemo, Dori, and another character in the fish tank share a common characteristic: a flaw or handicap that is blatantly apparent to see or hear and they are justly portrayed as the strongest, most lovable characters that prevail in difficult situations with their optimism intact.
Because of the lack of theme songs, I did not give this Disney animation a 5-start rating. Where have all those beautiful theme songs gone?
I could understand not including them in Toy Story and Monster's inc-it would not have been conducive to their storylines- but not in Finding Nemo. This would have been an even more brilliant production if it incorporated one or two composed theme songs.
In short, an awsome animation that I loved better than Toy Story and Monster's inc put together.

Summary: Way too much Disney Influence
Review: With much expectation I waited to see this movie. Monsters Inc was my first Pixar movie and my entire family loved it so we naturally wanted to see their next movie especially after the previews on the Monsters Inc DVD. My six year old, four year old and myself and my husband all sat down to watch this. My youngest was in tears within five minutes of the movie and my six year old said "mommy this isn't very good" I have to agree. Disney has a tendency to stick a lot of death into its movies E.G. Bambi, Snow White, Lion King and others. While it has a "g" rating it doesn't have a "y" rating which means that it wouldn't be suitable for younger audiences say under seven or so.
This movie has a lot of grown up issues that it is dealing with including single parenting and learning to let go and move on. In spite of this I do think that older children will like it because Dory and the turtles are very funny. But as my children are testement I think it may be too much for kids under seven. From now on I will not trust Pixar on its name alone and will preview their films the same as I do Disney. Four year olds shouldn't have to watch a movie where the mommy and brothers and sisters all die in the first five minutes. The worst thing that happened to Pixar was to be combined the Walt Disney Productions

Summary: Outstanding achievement
Review: Being 19 years old you can imagine I received some ridicule for buying, watching and loving this movie. The fact is though, it is an amazing movie with jaw dropping visuals, hilarious jokes and a perfect cast. Despite that it is a "Children's movie", it is great for all ages.

Finding Nemo is about a paranoid clownfish named Marlin and his son Nemo who both have basically never left their home in Australia's Great Barrier Reef. After the death of Marlin's wife Coral, Marlin becomes overprotective of Nemo and when Nemo gets captured by a scuba diver, Marlin does everything he can to get him back.

For parents: This movie is actually the first to include blood in a computer animated feature. It's not gory, just a simple nosebleed. Plus there are some scary parts, but nothing to get worked up over. Also, I should note in the director's commentary, it sounds like there was a bleeped out "F word".

Extras:
The movie comes in 2 discs with a widescreen format on the first and a fullscreen format on the second. The fullscreen format is actually an *extended* version of the widescreen. It takes away the 2 black lines on the top and bottom and replaces it with footage that was removed for the feature film.

Other extras include a documentary on making Finding Nemo, a behind the scenes look into Pixar's studio, a Fisharades game(Charades with a school of fish), several easter eggs, the ability to turn some dvd menus into a virtual aquarium, a visual commentary that showcases some deleted scenes(sketches with voice overs)and in-depth looks on how particular scenes were made, a message from Jean-Michel Cousteau about caring for the environment(who gets a visit from the stars of the film), Mr.Ray's encyclopedia where you can learn about the fish species in the movie, a color script which is a set of beautiful pastel paintings which served as a storyboard of sorts, and much more artwork from the creation of the film.

Quite a lot of extras isn't it?

Finding Nemo is an amazing movie with a universal story, lovable characters, moments of hilarity and almost tear-inducing sadness. It's well worth the price of admission. I wouldn't be surprised if this movie receieved several Oscar nominations. It's that good.

Summary: Hilarious! Ten Stars!
Review: Finding Nemo is the greatest Disney movie of all time. I reccomend buying it, because you'll keep on laughing, no matter how many times you watch it. Dory, one of the main characters, really makes Finding Nemo sparkle. She's witty, hilarious, and her short term memory loss makes her really something to laugh about. From reading all of the other high rated reviews, you probably already know what the movie is about, I'm just here to tell you how great it is.
