Rating: Summary: Extras on another CD Review: I am looking forward to this DVD as well. On the southpark website they said that the company thats making the DVDs wouldn't let them put commentary on it becuase there was too much vulgar language. THey also said that after you buy the dvd you can send in a proof of purchase and they will send you the commentary on a seperate Cd for free. Its better than nothing I guess. Although, it might be easier to just play the commentary CD with the episodes you already bought.
Rating: Summary: COMMENTARY AT COMEDY CENTRAL Review: It is great to have all these episodes together in one set. However, apparently Trey and Matt's commentary was going to get edited for content. Rather than give us an edited version, they dropped the commentary from the DVDs and are offering them (unedited) on CDs through Comedy Central. See their website for more details. I saw this information at aintitcool.comSeason one has some of the greatest moments of South Park comedy. I only wish the extras had remained intact for this package deal.
Rating: Summary: Audio Commentaries Review: For those people complaining that there aren't enough extra features such as audio commentaries, I just heard about something that will make this set look better for you. Comedy Central is giving a set of 5 audio cds with episode commentaries and rare songs away for free with the DVD set. If you buy it at comedycentral.com they bundle the audio cds and DVDs together, but if you buy the DVD set here or somewhere else, you can send in a proof of purchase and the cost of shipping in for the audio cds. I reccommend buying it here because it's 10 bucks cheaper. If you want more info, or if you want the mail-in form for the audio cds, go to http://comedycentral.com/tv_shows/southpark/dvd/ You're welcome :)
Rating: Summary: Yes, there are extras. Review: The first season of South Park was a revelation -- these episodes are irreverent and hilarious, and it's good to see them being released on DVD. It's true that there are no extras included on these discs, but this is due to a difference of opinion between Warner Brothers and Parker and Stone. Their (uncensored) commentaries will be available to those who buy the set for the cost of shipping and handling when a proof of purchase is sent in.
Rating: Summary: South Park -CENSORED BY WARNER BROS- ... Review: Again, the censors at Warner Bros strike back at the consumers. They have deleted all the commentary by Matt & Trey, and deleted the intros to the episodes. This is a bare bones deal, censored for your viewing pleasure.
Rating: Summary: Audio Commentary Available Seprately Review: In regards to what gsuscryst has said about them taking off the audio commentary, I would like to point out that Comedy Central is offering this commentary on 5 audio CDs for free with the purchase of the DVD set. You can either purchase it from Comedycentral.com and get the 5 cd's free, or buy it somewhere else and send Comedy Central the proof of purchase to get a free copy of the 5 CD audio commentary. I know that sounds kind of lame, but Matt and Trey did this because Warner Brothers wanted to edit their audio commentary for content. I think it's sweet that their commentary won't be edited, but kind of bummed that I'll have to wait for the CDs to get to my house.
Rating: Summary: Warner Bros removed the audio commentary that was promised Review: I love South Park. I own all of the DVD's already produced for the first season. I WAS going to buy this set of DVD's as well because it included a NEW audio commentary by Trey Parker and Matt Stone--the co-creators of South Park. However, that commentary has been removed by Warner Brothers, who are the distributers of the DVD Box set. They wanted to censor it, but Parker and Stone would not allow that. The audio commentary is available on a separate CD that you can get IF you pay extra (the box DVD set w/CD is 40 dollars at the CC site plus shipping and handling) or buy it here and pay extra for shipping and handling for the CD when you send proof of purchase to Comedy Central. Just remember that it's Warner Bros. fault...and let them know how you feel about, mmmkay folks? And if you buy it HERE...as you probably should...remember to send your proof of purchase to Comedy Central to get the CD that YOU ARE ENTITLED TO!
Rating: Summary: Beware the bait and switch Review: Apparently all the extras have been dropped. No Commentary, nor Intros. This may not be that horrible of a thing for those who just want to have all the episodes, including myself, however where is the price reduction? Commentary for the whole season is dropped yet the price tag remains at a list of 40? I don't think so. Be wary.
Rating: Summary: It's finally coming! With such episodes as 'Cartman Gets An Anal Probe' and 'Mr. Hankey The Christmas Poo', you would be crazy not to get it. - Pez King
