Rating: Summary: More smutty than funny Review: I didn't like this as well as "Kings of Comedy" for one main reason: most of the comedians here are more smutty than funny. In fact, they seem to think that merely referring to a "...." is simply hysterical and a sure laff-getter. There are a few good jokes in the film, but it's not worth the money.
Rating: Summary: Pretty Good Review: When I first watched this movie I was expecting to see a show much like "The Original Kings Of Comedy." In many ways it was the same, but I don't think it was quite as funny. Don't get me wrong, these ladies really did a good job, but it just wasn't quite the same. I think my favorite performer in this film was S'more. She was hilarious! All in all, this wasn't a terrible comedy film, but it was missing the spark that the "Kings" had.
Rating: Summary: Better than Kings of Comedy Review: This has to be the best stand up comedy show I have ever seen. I've watched it aleast 5 times and I can't stop laughing each time. The ladies in this show are truely wonder ladies and I hope they don't stop doing the show. I would love to see them live.
Rating: Summary: GREAT!!! Review: It was the best comedy I have ever seen! I loved Adele and Sommore. ..... In all actuality they were the funniest! I have watched it like 6 times in the last two days. Its that funny! Everyone should watch it! I loved the bonus video inserts they had. It showed the Queens real sides. Mo'Nique was OFF DA HIZZY!
Rating: Summary: Ha.......... Review: This video wasn't as funny as I thought. A lot of swearing and loud talking about nothing from Mo'nique. Her stand up on BET's comic view was better than this. Adele Givens was the funniest of them all. Miss Laura wasn't very good either. Sommore, needed some more funny lines. She was better and funnier on BET's comic view also. Four women on the road, talking about silly stuff wasn't my idea of comedy. Two stars in zee formation.
Rating: Summary: Change of pants Review: Child be a SONG!! This movie will make you laugh till you burst. Instead of going out and buying one of those AB things that shock the heck out of you. Order this movie. Your abs will be hurtin' when this movie is through and the laughter doesn't fade after the 5oth time watching it.
Rating: Summary: Unfunny & Loud Review: I have to agree w/ some of the reviews here. This is the video/DVD to avoid. Besides just being too loud & too profane, "The Queens of COmedy" just wasnt that funny. There was nothing clever or thought-provoking (like "The Original Kings of Comedy") about most of the jokes. & I'm sorry but yes I am going to compare the 2 because they are very similar in title, in structure, in content & in set-up. & the "The Queens of COmedy" was sort of a sequel & wouldve never happened if it wasn't for "The Original Kings of Comedy" being a success in the first place, so how can you not compare the 2? Unfortunately there were way more misses than hits in this one. Toooooo many pointless sex jokes that went a bit far & told more than any person needed or wanted to know. The jokes were either dry, dull & unfunny or shrill, profane & unfunny. By the time Mo'Nique hit the stage w/ her loud-azz, my head was about to explode. She just seemed angry, obnoxious, in a rage, vulgar.....everything but funny. & what was with all the women reffering to themselves & each other as B's??? everything was "a 'B' this & a 'B' that". i didnt get that at all, especially coming from 4 sisters who I thought were trying to exude some unity. it was a HUGE step-down from the very funny & talented cast of "The Orginal Kings of Comedy." i was thouroughly disapointed by this one & a bit disgusted by the whole thing. This movie made "The Original Kings of Comedy" all that much more better.
Rating: Summary: Queens Of Comedy...and Raunch Review: I've heard a lot of bad reviews about this, and all I can say is just take the film for face value. It's all about having fun and just getting people to laugh, and that's exactly what this film does for me. As a matter of fact, I've been watching this regularly for the past year and I still love it, and it's one of the videos that I play at my parties and my guests love it. These ladies are just escaping from the seriousness of the world and just letting it all out and that's how people should accept this. Miss Laura Hayes is the emcee of this show, and I have to admit that a lot of the comedy she uses throughout the show is pretty dry but I've heard other stories (her diet plan being sidetracked by marijuana, her ex-room mate who was on crack), and maybe she was asked to tone it down since she was the emcee of the show, I'm not for sure. But I definitely have heard better from Miss Laura. Adele Givens gives a great show and she's probably one of the less profane ladies on the stage that night. Sommore also gives a great show and this lady definitely has showmanship, detailing her events with highly exaggerated facial expressions and just her body language from start to finish. Mo'Nique is the most outspoken of all the ladies onstage that night, and she basically said what was on her mind, no holds barred. And probably the loudest out of all the ladies as well. The little clips in between performances were pretty entertaining and fun to watch, and as I've read in some of these reviews, Mo'Nique DID pretty much steal the camera for the most part, but it was still pretty hilarious. Overall this show is fun to watch, it's off the hook, and as long as you find raunch, sex and just overall craziness as funny forms of comedy, then this is for you, and not to be missed. Just don't have a lot of expectations, but expect to laugh!
Rating: Summary: Ugh! Review: I hated this movie. I'm not prudish at all but I thought the Queens of Comedy was more vulgar than funny. I was inspired to watch this movie because I enjoyed the Kings of Comedy tremendously. I was deeply disappointed.
Rating: Summary: Queens Of Profanity Review: I think all of these ladies are Queens and true comedians but alot of the jokes was overshadowed and out done by all the unecessary vulgar language. We dont need to curse to prove that we are the sh!t. I think the material overall was real, down toearth and personal, meaning that most of us can relate. I enjoyed Sommore the most because the girl just has style and good stage presence and then I enjoyed Adele, then Monique and Miss Laura, well she was a bit dry, but in past performance she had me rolling so she still gets props. It's worth watching.
