Summary: THE CLASSIC HIP HOP COMEDY
Review: IN THIS SLEEPER HIT, A TEENAGER PLANS TO GO TO A PARTY BEING THROWN AT HIS FRIEND'S HOUSE. BUT, JUST HOURS BEFORE THE PARTY, HE GETS IN TROUBLE AT SCHOOL WITH SOME TOUGH GUYS AND HIS FATHER FINDS OUT ABOUT IT AND GROUNDS HIM. VERY GOOD AND VERY FUNNY. THIS MOVIE IS A TRIP BACK TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS OF HIP HOP WHEN IT WASN'T ABOUT GUNS, DRUGS, HOODS, OR COLORS. THIS MOVIE SHOWS HOW RAP USED TO BE ALL ABOUT PARTYING, WHICH IS WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT SO MUCH. AND THE RHYME BATTLE BETWEEN KID AND PLAY IS ENTERTAINING TO WATCH TOO. FOLLOWED BY 3 SEQUELS [THE LAST ONE WENT DIRECT TO VIDEO].

Summary: "Beach Party" goes hiphop!
Review: Like the Beach Party flix of the 60s, this film is FUN FUN FUN! Prefect casting and not much of an attempt to take itself seriously (the bit about A.J. Johnson's home in the housing projects does provide a jolt of ugly reality, but this is not stressed for very long). But this film is filled with the best Black comic talent of the era. Particularly the late Robin Harris and his Popeye-style mutterings ("Every Little Step Ypu Take Will be in this room tonight.") The young Martin Lawrence as Bad Breath Bilal, and Full Force as the hiphop version of Erich Von Zipper and the Rats.(You stupids). All in all, an interesting and likebale cast of soon-to-be's. Too bad none of Kid and Play's other films were any good.

Summary: A comedy with an acquired taste.
Review: Oh yeah. This comedy has a lot of street and bathroom humor to it. Rappers Kid n Play are very natural in their roles. Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell and Robin Harris are wonderful in thier supporting roles.

Summary: Excellent film
Review: one of my favorite films of all time. Best Party film available. I would give it 6 stars if i could. Best one out the 4 house party films

Summary: Great chemistry between the actors!
Review: The chemistry between the principal actors was great! They were all hilarious, especially Martin Lawrence, who gave a very believable performance as the bald-headed stepchild homeboy of two popular teens. The dancing was incredible (especially Tisha). The only down side were the foul-mouthed performances of the villians (Full Force). Also of note: A. J., who appeared in "I got the hook-up" had his first speaking part in this film as the Jheri-Juice dripping dancer who went up against the late and great Robin Harris. (I was an extra on this film and the principal actors were all cool people!)

Summary: Its nothing like the First time around.
Review: The house party that started them all. And Is the better of the four. If I may say so. What some people won't do to go to the coolest house pary yet. Even if it means defying the parentals, and running into the school bullies. This is a movie filled with fun, energy and laughs. A must have movie from the 90's house party era.

Summary: Robin Harris, father of the year?
Review: The most interesting aspect of the energetic and funny HOUSE PARTY is the father-son relationship of Robin Harris and rapper "Kid." Watch it and you will see how, despite disobeying Dad's order to skip the party, Kid behaves responsibly when temptation would get the best of other teenagers. Unfortunately for Kid, before the youngster can tell his father about it, Dad first wants to "discuss" the fact that the boy went to the party!

Summary: Nice movie. Great acting from key actors.
Review: This is my favorite movie as of late, due to the fact that I can relate to every aspect of the movie. Kid N'Play give my favorite part of the movie: the battle (where Kid N'Play exchange verbal jabs). And Tisha Campbell (Martin), A.J. Johnson (Baby Boy) give a great dance scene. Buy it immediately.
