Summary: one of the funniest movie ever
Review: I'm a very critical person. When my ex-boyfriend told me to rent this movie, I thought how funny could it be. It's probably another one of those funny, stupid movies that gets boring real fast. Boy was I wrong. When I started watching it from the beginning, I laughed to the end. It is that funny. Ice Cube was great as Craig. I thought he was very natural. He has great potential to be a good actor. Chris Tucker by far is the reason for the success of this movie. He was hilarious. All he does is smokes weed and altimately gets himself AND Craig in trouble by smoking all of big worms' weed. All I really got to say is that this movie is cracked up funny. Most definite buy.

Summary: Unemployment + Neighborhood Whackos = Reliable Humor
Review: This film is DAMN funny for two primary reasons: 1) Chris Tucker, a truly natural screen comic, and 2) John Witherspoon, whose presence in ANY movie makes it better. The plot of "Friday": The events of an entire day (Friday, of course) as experienced by the newly-unemployed Craig (Ice Cube), and his buddy Smokey (Tucker) in their urban neighborhood, pivoting around Smokey's involvement as a marijuana "dealer" for Big Worm, the local supplier. But forget story--it's characters that propel things here. And "Friday" revolves around one of the funniest collections of minor and incidental characters ever devised, all enacted with a comic charicature sincerity that most mass-released, "white" comedies (i.e., the endless profusion of "Saturday Night Live" skit-based features) lack. However, it's still Witherspoon--as Craig's dogcatching father--and Tucker's performances that are the core humor factors. The dialogue is definitely aimed at urban sensitivities, and as such, some of the best humor may be lost on older (and, in honesty, white) viewers--which is a shame, because in many cases it's the honest delivery of the dialogue that provides the most laughs. And while not exceptionally crass, there are moments of scatalogical/sexual humor that may offend the more sensitive viewers--not to mention those put off by (accurate) drug humor--but again, it's the honesty of those moments that furnish such an enjoyably (to those attuned) funny take on "everyday" life in the 'hood. The most serious aspect of the film involves Ice Cube portraying the modern, young, black urban "everyman" (essentially, himself) who struggles against the neighborhood adversities (drug dealers, bullies, etc.), only to find climactic redemption in true, old-time fiction fashion--without the overarching gun violence portrayed in such heavies as "Boyz in the Hood." And though the film's binding humor tends to pall a bit towards that climactic resolution, overall it is a genuinely funny film. If you're expecting more than a bevy of situational "bits" thinly strung together by the premise, you'll be disappointed. But I've watched "Friday" countless times by now, and I'll still rely on it as a light-hearted laugh generator (and movie quote provider) in the future. Besides, the soundtrack is KICKIN'.

Review: This is a look into life in a Southern California black neighborhood. Kind of scary if you're a white middle-to-upper class honky.

Summary: The unprecidented party movie
Review: I didn't think much of the movie at first. Then I saw it again and thought it was funnier. Then I saw it again and thought it was cooler. (This continues until I've watched it about seventy times now). But, you see, I'm not one of these people who can watch movies over and over. I don't like doing that, because normally I overkill on it and don't want to see the film ever again (Forrest Gump anyone?). But this film is silly and funny enough not to take itself too seriously. We know they (Ice Cube and Chris Tucker) get in trouble, and we know they'll get out. It's not the fact that the plot is all that amazing. It's the fact that the characters drive this film, and Smokey (Chris Tucker) is HILARIOUS. The guy redefines funny. Ice Cube also brings a great performance (as well as being a very good writer--he wrote half the script). another chameleon-like performance comes from the other co-writer of the film, DJ Pooh. Their antics never get old, and the misadventures just seem to get funnier. The extras are great, though the interview with the producer is kinda boring. Check out this DVD if your expecting something light and funny, that you don't have to pay attention to every little thing to enjoy it. It gets better every time you see it.

Summary: HELLA FUNNY MOVIE!
Review: This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen! Chris Tucker is the funniest damn man in the world! And AJ Johnson, Tiny "Zeus" Lister, and Faizon Love are great in this movie too! I can't explain in writing how funny this movie is so you'll just have to see it for yourself and then buy it!

Summary: ** Not the best **
Review: I love African American movies, however, this one wasn't too great. Yes, it had some good lines. However, it didn't laugh as much I wanted to.

The film is about a man named Craig (Ice Cube) and Smokey (Chris Tucker). They are two guys in Los Angeles hanging out on their porch on a Friday afternoon. They smoke, talk about girls, and are looing for something to do. Throughout the moive, they meet-up with their neighbors and friends. Each of them had a different personallity, that I admired. Then, Craig and Smokey smoke up some weed, it's not theirs. Now, they have to find a way to pay the dope dealer $200. They have till 10:00 P.M. If they don't pay the dope dealer in time, they will be killed.

Overall, it was well scripted. It shows how a teens life in the hood could be like. However, I stress this not as funny as it is said to be.

Summary: Tim Correll's Friday Review
Review: Whenever I watch this movie, I laugh constantly. Sometimes I laugh so hard I start choking! This is the funniest movie of it's type! Ice Cube is very talented as a rapper and as an actor. If any of you Ice Cube fans out there who read this review, his real name is O. J. Jackson. I heard it in song number 9 (---- 'em) off the Predator album released in 1992. I strongly urge comedy type movie goers and Ice Cube fans in particular to see this movie.

Summary: Good comedy, but gets old
Review: Friday is overall a funny comedy, in fact it's hilarious thefirst time you see it, but the more you watch it, the less funny itgets, so I wouldn't recommend buying it. The only other problem with the movie is that Cube and Tucker just sit on the porch all day. I thought they'd at least go out and try some funny stuff to get the money for Big Per - I mean Big Worm. END
