Summary: Chris Tucker stole the show
Review: This is THE funniest comedy I have ever seen. I agree with another reviewer: I can watch this movie a million times and never tire of it. It gets funnier and funnier each time.

Tucker stole the show as Smokey, who sells pot but who also smokes it and it's that love that causes him trouble in the middle of the film. But it's his lines and his mannerisms as Smokey that make him hilarious.

One of my favorite parts is where Rita pulls up to meet Smokey for a blind date. Rita, who said she looked like Janet Jackson but weighed a good 250 pounds says lustfully, "Ooo, what's up?" The expression on Tucker's face made me cry, I was laughing so hard: It immediately dropped as he gets an eyeful of her and says, "Not a damn thing!"

The movie is chock full of goodies. The delivery of the script is what makes this movie and everyone was cast perfectly for their parts.

Sequels were unnecessary because this stands out by itself.

Summary: Good acted, refreshingly written comedy
Review: Though Friday wasn't exactly on American film critics' top 10 lists, that didn't stop those who actually MATTER (average moviegoers) from flocking to the theater to see this suprisingly stylish, witty comedy which sky-rocketed Chris Tucker's career and welded some of its one-liners into teenagers' everyday vocabulary. ("And you know this... MAN").

This is the kind of movie anyone could like if they would just give it a shot. As far as any neighborhood is concerned, most people would be able to relate to the wacky stuff that goes down in this film. Every character has his or her own little humor going for them, but the highlight of this film for me is John Witherspoon, who plays Craig's dad ("... just BAM! BAM! BAM! all day long, my foot up a dog's .... That's my PLEASURE!").

While Friday isn't my favorite movie, it's one of the few movies that I'll probably never get tired of. It's the perfect film to just kick back and watch when you have nothing particuarly important to do. I haven't seen the sequel yet for reasons unknown to me. Besides, I doubt I'll enjoy it as highly as I enjoyed this one. Don't analyze it or pick it apart. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

Summary: Classic Ghetto Comedy
Review: Ice Cube pulls off a great performance as Craig, who is the straight-laced guy who recently got fired from his job and he has a lot of crazy friends, his best friend 'Smokey' (Chris Tucker) is a pothead who is smoking the weed that he was suppose to be selling for 'Big Worm'. Later we meet the street thug Deebo who is a huge guy and he's the kind of guy who'll mess with you if you ever step in his way and the situations that Craig and Smokey get into are hilarious, Meanwhile Big Worm is getting fed up with Smokey playing with his money and he tells Smokey that if he doesn't have his money by 10:00, he's killing to kill him and Craig and together they try to come up with ideas on how to come up with the money, later on we get to the highlight of the movie when Craig beats the living ... out of Deebo.

If you love gangster comedies, then you'll love Friday, also recommended are Don't Be a Menace and Friday After Next.

Summary: A Weekend Classic (5 Stars)
Review: You can't go wrong with this movie. While there wasn't much of a plot, the action and the humor made you forget about all that. The cast alone makes this the best out of the entire series of movies, but what really makes this movie stand out from the other three was the impact it had. Ice Cube was brilliant as Craig, Chris Tucker stole the show as Smokey, and Tiny Lister became America's favorite bully (and in some places, his name is slang for bully now) as Deebo. And the rest of the lineup was perfect too. You had John Witherspoon (Mr. Jones), Bernie Mac (The Reverend), Faizon Love (Big Perm, I mean, Big Worm), and who could forget the hilarious A.J. Johnson (Ezell)? You can sift through the entire movie and find one liners and dialogue that people STILL use today. You can't say that about the other two movies. Even though Next Friday and Friday After Next are funny in their own way, they will never come close to the original. When I first saw it, I laughed so hard that I started crying. Even the opening scene was hilarious (when the Jehovah's Witnesses get the door slammed in their faces). I can watch this movie everyday for a week and still find it just as funny as the first time I saw it. If you haven't seen it by now, then you must not want to see it. Go out and get it, you'll love it. Trust me.

Summary: Can't have a Friday collection without the first one
Review: This is the movie that started the friday series and the first one still turned out to be the best one. This is one of those rare movies where you laugh from when the movie starts to when it is officially over. Ice Cube's "Craig" got fired on his day off from work for supposedly stealing boxes. However, that wasn't the only problem that await him on a Friday that changed his life and was almost his last day living. Craig friend Smokey(Chris Tucker) has a bad habit of smoking dope and his supplier Big Worm wants him to sell the dope, but smokey's addiction didn't allow that to happen. Craig ends up being involved when he actually smoked a joint with smokey and if neither one came up $200 before 10:00 they would both be died. If this wasn't bad enough, you had esiel(I think I spelled that right) who went around stealing from everybody, Deebo the neighbor bully who go around doing whatever he wanted to anyone at their expense. Craig thinks about using a gun to save he and smokey's life until his father encourages him to use his fist instead because it was more manly. Luckily, both men were able to escape when Worm boys came by and starting shooting at him rapidly. A few minutes later Craig becomes the 1st person to stand up to Deebo and fights him. Craig won the fight, smokey gets his $200 to pay big worm, and red the guy who had his gold chain stolen from Deebo got it back. The movie had many hilarous moments from at the beginning when a few Jevoah's witness knocked on the door to tell Craig the good news of the lord, Craig slams the door and one of the ladies screamed F--- you to where Deebo knocked Red into another planet with a deadly punch and smokey stands over top of him and says you got knocked the f--- out! I can't give you much more details, but it is a funny movie.

Summary: ONE OF THE GREATEST MOVIES OF ALL TIME!
Review: Hilarious!!! This movie cheers me up everytime I pop it in to my DVD player. Chris Tucker and Ice Cube are brilliant together. Smokey(Tucker) is my favorite character. He's just plain hilarious in this movie and alls he does is smoke weed..."That's alright, dont worry about what the F*** I be doin" LOL. My fav line is..."I know you dont smoke weed, I know this, but its friday, you aint got no job, and you aint got S*** to do". I love watchin this on a hot summer day, sippin on lemonade and chillin. BUY THIS DVD.

Summary: The only really good one of the whole series (admit it)
Review: While each Next Friday and Friday After Next may have had their moments, when it comes to overall greatness, you just can't beat the original Friday. Ice Cube did a good job portraying Craig Jones, and of course, Chris Tucker was HILARIOUS as Craig's best friend Smokey. In fact, people were still repeating Smokey's lines years after the movie came out, like: "When you gonna let me F, Ms. Parker?" or "And you know this...MAN!" or everyone's favorite: "You got knocked the F out!" (That even made me laugh when I wrote it.) It was also good to enjoy John Witherspoon as Craig's father, especially because that was before he became overexposed by being thrown into practically every bad Black movie (Soul Plane, anyone?).

I only gave this four stars because of two things: 1) although the movie is funny, there really isn't much of a plot, and 2) now that I think about it, the scene with Mr. Jones in the bathroom WAS kind of disgusting. But Friday is still a great movie, and it's a lot better than either of the sequels -- and it doesn't help that most of the main characters from this movie aren't even in the other movies (Mike Epps is funny, but let's face it; he's no Chris Tucker). If you're one of the few people who haven't seen this movie yet, grab some snacks, a nice seat of the couch, and pop it in.

Summary: Funny As Hell
Review: I'm a huge fan of the first "Friday" movie and I thought that the perfomances were very fuuny, especially Chris Tucker as Smokey(of which my favorite scene is when after Deebo punched someone, he gone over to him and said "You got knocked out"[slightly parapharing]) and Ice Cube also proved that he can act in this movie.

Overall, I think that it's a very funny and good movie and I would definitely recommend it.
