Summary: Jerry O'Connell let my kids down
Review: Jerry O'Connell, what happened? You have always been my kids' favorite Hollywood star and a great role model for all - until Kangaroo Jack, that is. Your disingenuous attempt at children's cinema has gone unfulfilled, to put it mildly. As a strong and unyielding proponent of nonviolent and pure children's entertainment, I came away highly revolted and infinitely appalled at the depths of utter debauchery to which Jerry O'Connell has plunged with Kangaroo Jack.The violence(with and without the kangaroo) coupled with the inexcusable lewd and lascivious abundance of sexual innuendos(with and without the kangaroo) left me with an incurable case of nausea and vomiting. I am demonstrably mortified by O'Connell and his reprobate dereliction of moral decency. My kids loved him in Scream 2, but I won't let them watch Kangaroo Jack - no,sir - not my kids! I almost gave it 1 star - but then I remembered one thing - it's Jerry O'Connell.

Summary: Welcome back, zany adventure!
Review: Here's one of those special movies that remind us of the better old-time adventure films, where everything fits together to give us just the right level of enjoyment, suspense, and humor. Many a modern "action" film depends on pushing the action to ever more extreme levels to entertain us with something new. But all too often that is symptomatic of a void in what else the movie has to offer. But this movie doesn't need that. It keeps us entertained because the protagonists are likeable, never boring, and they have adventures that are funny to boot. A stepson of a mob figure is sent with his buddy to Australia, to deliver a payment for a routine mob transaction, or, so he and his buddy think. But there are surprises awaiting them there, and the plot will keep you wondering as it plays out, as they encounter one misadventure after another, from a kangaroo they run over and presume to have killed, to a plane ride they won't soon forget. But I'll say no more. See and enjoy to find out how it all plays out in the land down under.

Summary: How Low Can Bruckheimer Go?
Review: Jerry Bruckheimer has always been known for his bombastic touch in action films. So the fact that he's helming a comedy this time around may come as a little of a shock to some people (even though he produced THE REF in 1994). But some people may be really shocked at how bad KANGAROO JACK is. Like any of Bruckheimer's films, KANGAROO JACK adds absolutely nothing to its genre; instead, it just simply recycles segments used in other comedies, making the movie uncoincidentally feel like a holdover from the 1990s. That wouldn't be so much of a problem if the movie actually recycled those segments well, but there is barely a fine moment in this movie. First off, it is never a good sign when a Bruckheimer movie is promoted as a "family movie" (because its rated PG, innit?), for regardless of the type of movie he's tackled over the years, Bruckheimer just can't help himself from adding his bombastic and bloated touches to the entire formula (and yes, that includes REMEMBER THE TITANS). And KANGAROO JACK is certainly no exception, as it includes such Bruckheimer essentials as chases, the sexy standout woman (played by Estella Warren), and the bad guys who are up to no good. None of these elements work, as the chases are never thrilling whether they involve human or kangaroo, and the sexy woman and the bad guys are played conventionally and featured as stereotypes. (And don't get me started about the love bond that creeps its way in the movie.) But worst of all, the comedy simply isn't funny. The computerized kangaroo culprit never arouses up any real interest, and it's not because he never talks (outside of a character's dream and the ridiculous ending, that is), it's because he is not presented in a manner convincing enough that proves his apparent mischief over "stealing" money. And the entire project is often way too formulaic and predictable, from the setup of the plot to the establishment of the characters- especially the leading two, played by Jerry O'Connell as the half-bright straight man Charlie and Anthony Anderson as the half-bright hilarious Louis (really, does the apparent sidekick always have to be a whiny black man?). And even though O'Connell and Anderson apparently love getting into trouble and creating problems throughout the movie, their antics get old and repetitious very quickly. So, to make the long story short, KANGAROO JACK is a recycled, formulaic comedy that is simply not funny. You can't really blame Bruckheimer for making a comedy, but you can blame him for failing to deliver a good one, which is exactly what he did here. But as Bruckheimer movies tend to go, the movie still did reasonably well in the box office, largely because of its pre-adolescent audience (who tend to give all hilarious things a good laugh anyway). And the very fact that KANGAROO JACK did well in theatres is especially sad, leaving one to wonder how low Bruckheimer's quality can get...while still making profit.

Review: Personaly, I DID NOT like this movie. Even though most of it takes place in Australia, the plot is thin, there is some sensual content, and plenty of nasty language. The Kangaroo gave it some redeeming value, (I like kangaroos) But not enough for 2 stars. I don't recommend it, but if you DO go see it, I can almost bet you wont see it twice!

Summary: Funny!
Review: This is a funny movie, why I even liked the time where Charlie (Jerry O'Connell), touches Jessie's (Estella Warren's) breast, and the part where they went in the bath, and Anthony Anderson is funny too, and what a great cast: Jerry O'Connell, Anthony Anderson, Estella Warren, Meryl Streep, Bill Hunter, Adam Garcia (the voice of Kangaroo Jack), and Christopher Walken. I give it 5 stars.

Summary: Ok for some people
Review: I went to see this movie thinking it would be really stupid according to the ads but it wasn't at all what i expected. It's was so funny i really liked it. It was stupid in parts but they were stupid funny not just stupid which i thought it would be. When i saw it i thought it really should have been rated PG-13 because there were some parts that really weren't good for kids i would recommened it to people around 11 and up but not necasarly adults.

Review: It completely eludes me why this piece of (edited for innappropriate content) known as "Kangaroo Jack" made it to number 1 at the box office. This is by far one of the worst movies that I've seen in years, if not in my entire life! Everyone character is unbelievably stupid and the plot is just unbelievably abominable. This movie is a complete and burning pile of sheer [edited for innappropriate content] on virtually all fronts. What really made me fume with anger was not simply the fact that a stupid and abominable movie went to number one at the box office but the charachters laugh at someone who came down with an epileptic seizure!! How dare they make jokes out of epileptic people!! Epileptic episodes are not a pretty sight at all and I am appalled that a number 1 movie would actually make a comedic joke out of such handicaps. How dare they!! This movie was rated PG but this movie deserves a PG 13 rating because of the heavier content than what you'd see on a PG movie. Stay as far away from this [edited for innappropriate content] as possible. I just hope that VHSs and DVDs are recyclable.

Review: Epilepsy isn't something to make fun of. Children shouldn't be taught to make fun of epilepsy. Ill informed adults have made a 'sick' movie. Everyone who cares should [not go to] this film. Let the studio's know that children with epilepsy will have a hard enough time dealing with seizures they don't need so-called 'adults' teaching children to ridicule epileptics. I speak from experience. Growing up is hard, growing up with epilepsy is harder, don't let people help to make it impossible.
