Review: After the colossal flop of "0SCAR" Sly Stallone didn't fare much better in this sophmore efoort "STOP! OR MY MOM WILL SHOOT" Stallone plays a burned out cop who can't seem to keep a woman has the burden of putting up with his nosey mother when she makes a surprise visit. Stallone's testosterone was raging out of control here when he should of added more humor to it, insted of using the usual cliches that comes along with films like this. Estelle Getty from the t.v sereis GOLDEN GIRLS puts in a genuine funny effort and may have saved the film if it had a better script. Sylvester Stallone isn't one for comedy. And if you see this film you'll know why. ROCKY anyone?

Review: I can not tell you how much this movie has changed my life. Just when my life couldn't get any worse, I saw "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot". Sylvester Stallone is the savior for mankind. When you think armageddon is upon us, just watch Stallone in this uplifting, spiritual movie. The relationship with his mother is unbelievable and touching. This motion picture deserves to be recognized and to be viewed by the world. Universal Pictures needs to release this movie on DVD, not for me, but for the human race.

Just because Estelle Getty is famous for the Golden Gertrudes...haha..girls....is that all she can do...is TRY to be funny? I've got a gun...like my son....MAKE MY DAY>....hehe...How pathetic. And i wish Stallone was shot by his mom.....the worst movie he's ever done.......

Summary: A classic that excretes patriotism from every orifice
Review: In an era inspired by the likes of Pat Tillman, John McCain and Ryan Seacrest, Sylvester Stallone's 1992 Gulf War opus "Stop! or My Mom Will Shoot!" is still as powerful during today's troubled global situation as it was during the senior Bush's initial campaign to liberate the noble god-fearing folks of Kuwait. Inspired by her son's decision to enlist in the military to eliminate the obvious nuclear threat residing in Iraq, Tutti Bomowski (Estelle Getty) decides to re-enlist herself. Having been the first female Navy Seal in U.S. history, and a decorated war hero in Korea, the one condition of her military service is to be assigned to the same elite fighting squadron as her son Joe (Stallone). Their top-secret operation carries them right into the fringes of Baghdad where they uncover Saddam's diabolical plan to blow up the ocean. Despite their combined lethal skills, one of them won't make it out alive. Teeming with realistic wartime violence, this is not everyone's cup of tea. However, if you're a fan of Sam Peckinpah's bloody cinematic ballet, you will find much to appreciate in Stallone's work. In fact, as a moving tribute to the motherly tone of this epic, Stallone was assisted by Peckinpah's 93-year old mother Myrtle in helping choreograph many of the action sequences, most notably the legendary bungee-jumping battle scenes. Sly showed that he's a master of many crafts in "Stop! or My Mom Will Shoot!" Not only did he write, produce, direct, and star in this film, but he also wrote and performed the amazing musical score as well. "Over The Top" and "Cobra" may have introduced the world to the possible talents that Stallone possesses, but it was this film that truly made him a legend that will live on for several weeks to come.

Summary: A "COMEDY" THAT NAVIGATES UNDER THE FLAG OF MEDIOCRITY.
Review: In the early 1990s someone made a huge mistake: someone told Sylvester Stallone that he was a funny guy, someone dare to say that Rambo could make a modern Cary Grant, someone told him that Rocky reminded him / her the lovable, funny Tramp character that Charlie Chaplin portrayed in his glorious comedies. So Sylvester believed that awful lie, and he immediately tried to act "funny". "Oscar" was his first infamous "comedy" movie, and then he tried again with "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot".
"Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot" is a collection of cliches, stereotypes, unfunny performances, boring jokes, and a 10 page script. I think the movie produced in me a chuckle, but I'm not sure, perhaps Estelle Getty did something worthy of a giggle.
Anyway, "Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot" is not a funny movie, the action sequences are poor, the comedic sequences are not funny at all. I don't know what is funnier: Sylvester Stallone trying to be funny, or the fact that Universal dare to release this movie on DVD.
