Summary: relaxing
Review: I first watched this movie with the insistence of my husband. Although I like Bruce Willis' starring, except moonlighting I've not watched him before in a movie. But I think this movie has a special sense of humour and also it's relaxing. you don't think much about anything but everytime you watch you realize something special about the movie. The names of the chracters are all inspired by something like Hudson Hawk and Butterfinger, and funny. And also the relevance to Da Vinci makes movie artistic. The outcome is a joyful and relaxing movie.

Summary: Hudson Hawk
Review: This is hands down the funniest movies I have every seen. I was in a room of five people and only one didn't get the humor. Not to say this person didn't like it they just were a little to slow to get the jokes, and believe me this movie is all about the humor. You have to keep on your toes to get the entire plot and to get the really subtle jokes, but they are worth paying attention.

This movie brings back some of the best Moonlighting Humor, and I really wish Bruce Willis would do more humor movies then blow me up action.

Summary: Not for so, so many people
Review: This is one of the best movies I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot of movies. It is the only movie that I own (VHS when first released). At the theater, not everyone laughed, but those that did, did so uncontrollably. This movie isn't for everyone, but those that can follow the quick and subtle humor, it will be a film you will cherish forever.

Summary: Ahead of It's Time
Review: I, too, was one who saw this movie when it was first released (right after "Die Hard") and fell to the original disappointment. Recently, I decided I had to buy the DVD to add to my Bruce Willis movie collection because I knew it was an important movie to this artist (he created it, helped write it, etc) and I am such a fan of his talent. You can't imagine my surprise to find that watching it now, years later, I thought the movie was hilarious! It is the kind of movie that is best described as "just plain fun". My jaw hurt from laughing so hard for so long! The only explanation I have for not liking it when it first came out...but, loving it years later is that the type of humor that was in "Hudson Hawk" (Bruce Willis humor) was simply ahead of it's time! I am glad I finally caught up! Buy the DVD if possible and listen to the director's commentary to find hidden humor that surely passed by you unnoticed when you watched the movie. If you only like movie's that have twisted plots and make you think...then, this movie is not for you. But, If you like to kick back and just get lost in the fun...you'll enjoy this movie tremendously!

Summary: Hawk, you're the best...
Review: Although many a critic has dubbed this film a 'vanity job' I believe it to be Bruce Willis' best work to date. Even Bruce himself has been known to denounce it as a failure. But who says that ticket sales equate to film's quality anyhow? If you want to see Bruce Willis in top form this movie is for you. The smirks and ultra cool one-liners are all here. The style of the film is very toungue-in-cheek; the story is fast and the constant quips even faster. Watch it once, you'll wonder what just happened; watch it twice and you'll be caught by the Hawk...

Summary: Pass the Cheese
Review: Ok yes this is a cheesy love or hate movie, but the one thing that I will mention that I hadnt seen in another review was of the audio commentay track by the director. Listenting to him discuss many of the choices both from a plot standpoint as well as an editorial standpoint was very entertaining. Without it i would say just rent the video to get it out of your system but he commentary actually makes this worth owning and watching more than once.

Summary: what d'ya mean it sucked?
Review: This is by far the best Bruce Willis movie I've seen. Why nobody really liked it, I'm not sure. My sister even liked it and she hates Bruce Willis. Anyways, back to the movie...I thought the storyline was great, a little boring in some spots but it kept me on my toes. My favorite parts were when the dog "Bunnie" (my nickname at school) goes flying out the window and when Bruce gets out of jail throws the keys in the mop thing and adjusts his hat. He had me try some cappuccino and it's pretty good. I think this is one of Bruce's best movies even if he doesn't think so.

Summary: Every bit as bad as you've heard!
Review: There are some all time classic bombs that really are not as bad as the critics would have you believe. Then there are some films that are so awful that no review could ever tell you how bad they are! Hudson Hawk is one of those films. It starts well but soon it's downhill at the way. The incoherent plot centers on Willis trying to steal several artifacts a bunch of crooks, while being pursued by the CIA and undercover nun MacDowell the but soon we don't know who's doing what to whom, why they are doing it and why we should care. The script is a weak as they get, but it could have been made bearable if the actors had played it straight. Instead they clearly think it's Monty Python and act as if they're having the time of their life. Willis is the chief offender. He wrote the story and by all accounts improvised most of his dialogue to truly illustrate his "rare sense of humour". I'd hate to go to one of his parties. True, the special effects are excellent and director Lehmann puts together some impressive action set pieces, but halfway through the film, all the noise, the explosions, the punches, the bad jokes deaden our senses and nothing seems to register. Soon your clap wearily when people start to die, because the fewer people involved in this mess the better. And by the end you need a stiff drink and a lie down. That how exhausting Hudson Hawk is! It also contains the worst one liner in film history: after Willis cuts a bad guy's head off he quips, "You won't be attending that hat convention in July!" To end on a personal note, Hudson Hawk has sealed my fate as a lover of bad films. After seeing it I had the same feeling I had after seeing masterpieces like Blade Runner, The Sixth Sense and Death in Venice, except it was truly awful! With a film like Hudson Hawk you don't watch it. You survive it.

Summary: A cult classic, and a hilarious comedy.
Review: I first saw this film the day it was released in the theatre, and laughed the whole way through. I think the movie got slammed because people were expecting Die Hard 2, and this is not an edge-of-your-seat thriller. It is more a laugh-your-head off comedy with some great cartoon violence and even better one liners... Catholic Bishop:"The pope told me never to trust the CIA." Richard E. Grant and Sandra Bernhard are also highlights, but they didn't steal the whole show...

Summary: Unreal, Surreal... I love it!
Review: I seriously don't understand why this movie got any bad reviews at all! I was histerical with laughter almost all the way through. Bruce Willis and Danny Aiello where sensational together as was Sandra Bernhard, Richard E. Grant, and Andie MacDowell. If anything, I would like to see more of Bruce Willis in this sort of role, obviously having fun, and transmitting that fun onto the screen. Loved it. Get it. Enjoy.
