Summary: For Chris Farley Fans Only.
Review: A Klutzy Overweight Orphan (Chris Farley) with a Soft heart is Raised by a Ninja Clan. When he meets a Attractive Mystery Woman (Nicolette Sheridan), hired him to Spy on her Corrupted Boyfriend (Mathaniel Parker), who is actually a Counterfeiter and a Murderer. The Overweight Ninja goes to America to Protect the Mystery Woman with the Help, which he`s doesn`t know by his Step-Brother (Robin Shou).

Directed by Dennis Dugan (Problem Child, Happy Gilmore, Saving Silverman) made a Clumsy and Lousy Comedy but at times, it`s Very Funny. Chris Rock has a Supporting Role as a Bellboy, who befriend with the Clumsy Ninja. This was a Box Office Hit in Theaters and Also a Hit on Video. This was Chris Farley`s Thrid Lead Role, his last was the Underrated Almost Heroes. Fans of Farley and young Teens will enjoy this more than Modern Audiences. Grade:B.

Summary: Farley is "The Great White Ninja"
Review: A white baby was found on the shores of Japan and raised by ninjas. They thought he was special because of a legend about "The Great White Ninja". Boy, were they wrong. Haru (Chris Farley) grew up to be the most clumsy person in Japan and caused lots of trouble. When the dojo was empty one evening, Haru was in charge to guard the place. A simple task, yes, but no, he fouled it up by breaking walls, burning scrolls and meeting Sally, a mysterious woman who needed a ninja. Haru helped this Sally and traveled to Beverly Hills where he disguised himself as a pimp and helped Sally. Gobei (Robin Shou) went to Beverly Hills as well to keep an eye out for the goofball. Haru lost many shoes and caused lots of damage. He also tried cooking Japanese food, but failed miserably. I was ashamed to have witnessed men getting beat up with fish. Oh yeah, when Haru gained some confidence, he swung his samurai swords blocking machine gun bullets. It was a no-brainer! However, the film does provide enough slapstick for any physical comedy fan to enjoy.

Review: Because this movie deserves it. It was so bad I popped it out of the VCR without finishing it, the ONLY time that's ever happened. Chris Farley as a ninja sounds like a sure fire hit, but Beverly Hills Ninja does nothing with this incredible premise. The funniest moment was when Farley ran into the back of a bus at top speed, and it became apparent after only a few moments that the only humor to be derived from this movie would be watching Farley hurt himself; it appeared as if he was intentionally slamming into various objects in order to destroy them, not because he was an awkward but gentle soul. This movie was spectacularly awful.

Summary: A Fitting Coda....
Review: Beverly Hills Ninja is NOT the best DVD you will ever own. it is not meant to be. It isn't even Farley's TRUE last movie. But it IS his final film as a lone star, and his star shines brightly.

The story is simple enough. Legend states that a "Great White Ninja" will come to a Ninja Clan and bring Greatness. When a young baby washes ashore..it is assumed it is the Great White Ninja of Legend. It's not.

From there on out, the plot is a haphazard mix of action, jokes, and some pieces of 'story'. The plot is admittedlty thin, but it serves its due just fine.

Chris Rock is notable, but underused. This movie also provides a good showcase for Robin Shou, better known for 'Mortal Kombat'. His action scenes are fantastic.

The best jokes seem to come the most natural...Farley with nunchuks, Farley in 'disguise', Farley's Spiritual 'Levitation'..and the Ninja Training sequence is a highlight of slapstick fun that previews what COULD have been.

On the technical side, the DVD is Anamorphic, and has a helpful Spanish alternate language dub that is a GREAT feature. The rest of the disc is sadly 'Bare Bones'..just a trailer, and the obligatory 'Talent Files'.

I DO wish there had been some deleted scenes, or even a commentary.

The picture, as stated, is Anamorphic,it is in both widescreen(1:85) and pan&scan and displays very little grain. It is amazingly sharp and pleasant.

Viewing this disc is a pure pleasure..and the sound, while not too active in surround, is rich and bold.

I highly recommend this as a purchase. It can be viewed multiple times, and is never wearing enough to get 'old', thus upping its value as a purchase.

This may be the last true "Chris Farley" film..he may have left us, but he left us laughing.

Summary: Chris Farley rules in all his movies that are hilarious!
Review: Chris Farley in this film is also one of my favorites playing the role as a ninja warrior karate fighter raised by chinese villagers is sent to america in beverly hills, california. To save a distressed woman in trouble by oriental mobsters trying to kidnap her. So Farley must fight and defend himself after these bad guys. Also co-starring is Chris Rock a comedian and an alumni from Saturday Night Live who's Farley sidekick helps him battle to get these gangsters with Farley's only plan!

Summary: Downright Silly, Not Funny
Review: Chris Farley plays the role of a clumsy ninja, ridiculous to the extent that I feel that it is an insult to ninjas. The movie is plain silly, not funny. This guy is worse than Jar-Jar Binks.

Hard to imagine anybody could find this show funny.

This is the worst comedy that I come across so far.

Summary: A great pairing of comedian & topic...
Review: Chris Farley was a very funny comedian in various roles on Saturday Night Live. Part of the humor is that he would play characters that were inherently humorous due to his weight. Casting him as a Chippendale dancer is a good example of this.

This same comedy ploy is used in this movie, with the overweight Farley portraying the "Great White Ninja". Of course, the humor comes not that the ninja is white, but that the ninja is bumbling and very overweight.

The plot is good for a Farley movie, and most of the laughs are from physical and slapstick comedy as Farley attempts to work his ninja magic. Chris Rock has a great role as Joey, a man looking up to Farley in his ninja role.

I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a light hearted laugh and who isn't in the mood for dissecting a plot.
