Summary: Falls Short....
Review: A mob movie for non-mobsters, this film involves two amateurs sent to NYC to do a money 'drop'. Written and Directed by Jon Farveau (Swingers) and also strarring Vince Vaughn, Peter Falk and Famke Janssen. Things get complicated when Vaughn's character flaws 'kick in' and piss everybody off. The best part of the film is Vaughn. Athough Farveau and the rest of the cast play their parts well, Vaughn is right on target. You can't help but want to bound and gag him all through the film. Production value is good but there isn't anything particular that would shoot this film through the top. It's a well written story and decently acted. Made is entertaining for those who like 'fish out of water' pictures.

Summary: Vaughn is hilarious
Review: this is about Bobby(Jon Favreau) and he is a wanna be boxer who also does construction work..so is his friend Ricky(Vince Vaughn)..Bobby has a girlfriend who is a stripper named Jessica(a sexy Famke Janssen)....Favreau and Vaughn are assigned a job by Max(Peter Falk)...so he sends the 2 away with the help of Ruis(SEan Combs), his right hand man (Faison Love) and a limo driver(Vincent Pastore)....very funny due to teh chemistry of Favreau and Vaughn...bringing their Swingers chemistry to the picture..especially Vaughn..he gets all the highlights..beeping the stewardess on the plane...annoying Falk and Combs..and the chuckie cheese part at the end...very good and worth it if your fans of the Swingers cast

Summary: Not a forgone conclusion
Review: I assumed that just because I loved "Swingers" I would love "Made." Not so. And don't believe the reviews you read telling you that if you like one you'll like the other."Made" is John Farvreau's attempt at a crime film, not exactly a spoof on one. The only spoof aspect of it is Ricky, played by Vince Vaughn. Otherwise it seems like a pretty straightforward, somewhat realistic crime movie. Bobby (Favreau) and Ricky are amateur boxers, pretty bad ones at that, who end up doing a job for their boss (played by Peter Falk) which takes them from their native LA to New York. There they meet Ruiz who is, believe it or not, played by P. Diddy. They bumble their way through the operation, finally returning to LA where Bobby wraps things up with his girlfriend and her child. The main problem to me was Vince Vaughn. His character (Ricky) has absolutely no redeeming qualities. He is one of the most irritating, idiotic, annoying characters I've ever seen portrayed on film. The character he played in "Swingers" was similar - a loud-mouth know-it-all - but he had some redeeming qualities. He obviously cared about his friends, he did know when to draw the line, he wasn't all talk - women did like him, etc. In "Made" none of these qualities exist. He's just the self-centered loud-mouth who doesn't know when to quit and seems intent on getting himself and everyone around him killed. While this is funny at times, it ends up just getting old and almost uncomfortable to watch. It's not entirely fair to compare this movie to "Swingers," but that seems unavoidable and its only saving grace. I don't think this movie would have had any success at all were it not for its predecessor, because it's just not that fun watching Vince Vaughn be an idiot in this one because there's nothing to redeem him. I'd say rent it before buying to make sure you like it - don't assume you'll like it because you liked "Swingers." They are two totally different films.

Summary: MADE - Jon Favreau & Vince Vaughn back to greatness!
Review: Swingers was one of my favorite movies the year it came out. Jon Favreau wrote a very clever screenplay with cool fresh dialogue about the L.A. club and bar scene that any man 21 or over could relate to. Made is Jon Favreau's second movie and is every bit as clever as its predecessor with a little drama thrown into the mix. Jon stars once again with buddy Vince Vaughn as two friends (and I use the term loosely) who are making a run in the world of organized crime. Favreau who is trying to repay his debt to mob boss Peter Falk and Vaughn a screw-up, who just wants to become a made man for the glamourous prestige it will give him. Once again Favreau plays the straight man to Vaughn's comedic character and the formula is brought to life by these two solid actors. Favreau's screenplay proves that this man is not a one trick pony, he could have easily borrowed from Swingers and did lots of niteclub type jokes again but instead has created a really solid mob-type buddy comedy. The movie also features Famke Jansen (who's always great) as Favreau's stripper girlfriend, Sean "Puffy" Combs (surprisingly really good) as a mobster, and even a funny cameo from Dustin Diamond (Screech). The movie starts to feel a little long towards the end but I gladly sat through the rest of it waiting for the outcome. I wish Jon Favreau would start to write movies more frequently because good comedies like these are sorely missed at the megaplexes.

Summary: Favreau strikes again....
Review: As a fan of the Vince and Jon duo, I was going to enjoy this film no matter what. The way that they play off of one another is hysterical. I would relate their roles in Made to the roles that Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker have in Rush Hour 2. Favreau is the quiet-serious type like Chan while Vaughn resembles the motor mouthed Tucker. Vaughn comes off as annoying in this movie because he is suppose to be that way. He thinks and believes he is a hotshot mob type. Instead, he is that ridiculous friend that always says the wrong thing at the wrong time. Vaughn is able to play the Sopranos wanna-be to perfection. Favreau is the classic "oh no not again" kind of guy. The scene with Favreau and Vaughn riding with the motorcycle gang is absolutely hilarious! P. Diddy does a good job of being himself in the film. There isn't any slow in chemistry when he enters the mayhem. Cmon, who is more mafioso than Vincent Pastore? The various cameos (one in particular from a Saved by the Bell castmember) are funny as well. Favreau and Vaughn are normal guys entering a world that they have no experience with. They represent those of us that are not associated with the mob in any way. We would probably do the same thing as these two "amateurs" if put in the same position. "Well I saw them do this on the Sopranos once..." Funny movie for us regular people. This movie is not suppose to be another Snatch like one reviewer said. The people in that film were not regular people with regular lives. Furthermore, this is not Swingers 2. Enjoy the film for what it is, a regular guy meets Tony Soprano comedy. Plus a comedic duo of this kind is hard to find.

Summary: I Liked The Movie But It Is Not For Everyone
Review: Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn don't make your standard cookie-cutter type movies like a Clint Eastwood. The movie, "Made", will not be enjoyed by everyone and it will never gross 200 million. It's an off-beat, quirky kind of movie about two friends hired by a 'wise guy' to do some funny business. Vince Vaughn plays Ricky, an eccentric screw-up that can't keep his mouth shut. Jon Favreau's character, Bobby is a boxer who is in love with a prostitute. She has a wonderful little girl who becomes attached to Bobby. He takes this job with Ricky in order to score some cash so he can secure his girl friend's future and get her off of prostitution. Ricky's over-the-top behavior almost screws up the 'drop' but he pulls off a surprise. The movie is funny, interesting and entertaining. However, it's is not as good as the one that made Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn famous, i.e. "Swingers". As a big fan of Favreau and Vaughn my opinion is biased. I loved this movie but it is not for everyone!

Summary: not my favorite
Review: i like vince vaughn and jon favreau, which makes this hard to do. i'll try to be objective in pointing out the strong points and the weak points, but we'll see. the first thing i have to say is that this is the first movie i've watched in a long, long time that i almost turned off in the middle. i understand that vaughn's character is supposed to be a total irritating moron, but after a while i could hardly bare it. there didn't seem to be many (if any) funny parts in my opinion, and i also thought the plot was rather weak. however, i thought that the acting was pretty good. it would be hard for me to believe that anyone could do an annoying person better than vaughn did in this film. and puffy got ripped on plenty in the reviews i saw, but in my opinion, he did pretty well. i'm not sure he was terribly convincing, but he certainly didn't embarrass himself. the ending was more bearable than most of the movie, but it seemed out of place. overall, this is my recommendation: i think most people will not like this movie, so i think you should avoid it (especially if you don't like irritating, dumb-head characters). however, if you really like vaughn and favreau AND aren't too turned off by a character that does some ridiculously dumb things, then maybe it's worth seeing for you.

Summary: Can't stop watching this one!
Review: This is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Not a real "slapstick" type of comedy, the humor lies within the dialogue, and mannerisms of the characters. If you liked "Swingers", you'll definitely like this one. Every time Vaughns character opens his mouth, you'll end up laughing. I've seen it eight times, and it get funnier every time.

Summary: One of the worst movies ever seen
Review: What "Made" means in the mobster circle? It usually means that you start as a small potato in the mafia, then certain condition and situation occured that guys as Lieutenants with higher seniority tell you to ice somebody either in the same organization or on the outside, a traitor, snitch, or somebody refuse to pay the so-called debt. If you do the job perfectly without leaving any trace or evidence, then you'd be taken into the inner circle to become a "Made" guy. But this pathetic movie only gave you a two pathetic do-no-gooders, one is totally a jerk with wisecracking loudmouth, the other is a wimp with some principles but still could not shake off as a loser. The whole movie we got is a low budget going nowhere purposeless one, with all the characters shot their mouths off with the repeating resentful fxxxxxx word in any dialogue or conversation to represent as toughness. This disgusting pair always quarrel, fight each other no matter what, just like two 8 years bullies trying to look tough. I really don't know what this movie should have been put into production and use the "Made" as a word to bait viewers to waste money and time on it. We have already had enough of this kind of movies, players or actors with the earpopping soreness of the Bronx accent. Enough is enough, please spare us with no further eyesore movies, if you could call them movies.

Summary: Wanted to like it....hated it.
Review: I am really mad at Vince Vaughn and his buddy, Favreau. This was one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time, and I try to be selective about my choices. Sean Combs is an absolute embarrassment to the field of acting. There were some Sopranos cameos which served as a distraction for this sad piece of celluloid. Terrible. Awful. I want my money back.
