Summary: Great movie , really refreshing
Review:
What starts out as a simple and innocent drive to white castle ends up being a real-life sort of TRIP? (kind of like some lsd tripping, it seems at times). But what really made this movie were the two princeton chicks who appear out of nowhere and have a diarreah competition in the ladies restroom of princeton with harold & kumar hiding out in one of the toilet rooms while all of this is happening. Another fabulous part is the pot-dealer which is very funny as he can't seem to remember which room he's supposed to show up to get laid with these chicks (besides the fact he wasn't really invited). Another part where neal patrick harris looks like some crazed sex maniac stealing harolds car and using it as a automobile-skateboard? while snorting cocaine off of the butts of 2 hot naked chicks, while harold & kumar watches and wonders if this is really happening, which he then meets a gay? racist jersey cop which takes them both in. Ofcourse the BEST part of the movie is this guy called 'freakshow' an evangical? jesus loving man who seems to be obsessed with jesus and wanting a 4-some with harold kumar and his wife. Great movie!

Summary: You sank my battles***!
Review: When I saw the commerical for "Harold and Kumar" this past year on tv i thought to myself "Ughhhhhh what is this CRAP?" Well, looks can defintely be deceiving! Upon renting it I found this to be the BEST humor of its kind since Cheech and Chong! Yes that's right 25 years and counting! Pot humor is the big winner here but it is so much than that. As accurate as it is to call "Rold and Kumar the new Cheech and Chong( 2 ethnic, pot smoking kilutzes ) they are truly the next step. After all, you think chong could ever perform surgery or Calculus? Maybe weighing a oz is about as mathematical as C&C would get, Rold and Kumar are your modern smart stoners. The battles***& scene is worht the movie alone! 2 fine British gals having a poop contest? It is as funny and funky as it sounds trust me! There are some cornball moments sure but this is comedy right and proper. The nods towards popular culture are evident in the White Castle title alone, but you have the XTREME jocks( so true, so true!) the idiotic Princeton hippie weed dealer and of course...those tiny, scrumptous White Castle burgers! With the exception of Elf this blows away anything the current "comedy king" Will Ferrell has done in a good long while! I didn't even know this was so called "pot humor" until my pop told me I HAD To watch it, as he is a lifelong Deadhead and I a former "love child." And realistic this is as I've known some serious Korean and Indian stoners in my time, John Cho and Kal Penn do it dead on! They ARE Harold and Kumar not to mention up n commers that I'm sure will keep the funny bone in action. People will call this just another "Dude Wheres my Car" but ohhh how they are wrong, Ashton and Scott could only WISh to be so humorous
without having to resort to tired skits and the such. I would call this the funniest( being stoned helps yes!) movie to come out in awhile! It's the "Up in Smoke" of this generation, no ifs ands or blunts about it!

Summary: Do you really want a White Castle burger? Yes!
Review: As soon as you load the DVD, John Cho and Kal Penn are driving in the car talking to each other about this DVD waiting for you to select in option. But wait! It's fun to watch the next five minutes play out before you make an option.
Nice gimmick: White Castle Hambergers is a restaurant as successful as McDonald's, but only found back east in the USA. There are no White Castle Restaurants in the West or Mid-West. Briefly there was one in Hollywood, California as recent as 2004. But now the closest restaurant is in Louisville, Kentucky.
Harold (John Cho) and Kumar (Kal Penn) are pals who live together. They get the munchies and then they both see a White House Hamburger commercial. Immediatly, they decide to drive all the way to New Brunswick to the White Castle. This is just the beginning of a late night adventure. Harold could eat 20 White Castle hamburgers right now. He hasn't been to a White Castle in ages. They finally make it to New Brunswick. Kumar knows if the mega-plex is there, the little White Castle must be across the street. Well, it is now a Burger Shack. So now they agree to drive to Cherry Hill to a White Castle, however there are a few unexpected stops along the way. Will these guys ever make it to White Castle?
I think Hollywood has a brand new comedy team. I would love to see John Cho and Kal Penn make more movies together.
I think Neil Patrick Harris has demolished his "Doogie Howser" image forever.
That was Christopher Meloni (HBO, "OZ", NBC, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) as "Freakshow".
DVD includes a 12-minute "John Cho & Kal Penn: The Backseat Interview with Bobby Lee". A 10-minute explaination of "The Art of the Fart" and looking for fart recordings, including at a truck stop.
Dang! I can not use the DVD-ROM/online features, but I bet they are funny.
Three audio commentaries: Director with John Cho and Kal Penn, Writers Commentary, and "Extreme" Commentary with Danny Bochart.
John Cho and Kal Penn were also in G-PHORIA (2004-TV).

Summary: stupid stupid stupid stupid but I laughed anyway
Review: I am embarrassed to admit that I enjoyed this truly stupid movie. Forced by courtesy to sit and watch it, I found myself, at first grudgingly, laughing till I cried. Of course, there is a long history of "road" stories (think about all the old picaresque stuff), and this one ties right in. Two roomies, who have smoked pot, start a road trip to get the perfect burger at Whitecastle. This was made all the more enjoyable for us in that we used to live in Whitecastle territory, and when we were young, my husband would indeed eat them by the dozen (I could never handle more than 2 because of all the onions -- and we were indeed impressed that the girl kisses Harold when he has all that infamous Whitecastle breath). All the folks they meet on the way, all the adventures, are really funny, if you are not offended by the scatological. Neal Patrick Harris does a good job playing a very delusional version of himself. If you are feeling very low, and want some very broad humor, this is the film for you.

Summary: Super movie - great movie to watch while getting drunk.
Review: I was laughing all throughout the movie. Not only that, the movie is quite intelligent too, the stupid cops, typical Kwikie mart owner, typical asian are all quite funny. Unlike other high budget BS movies that advertise the heck out of a movie and then fall awfully short, this movie delivers more than enough bang for the buck. I think everyone needs more brainless movies such as this one.

Summary: FINALLY! A COMEDY WITH STONERS!
Review: It's about time a movie is made with stoners, white castle, lots of pot, adventure, and main characters that are NOT white for once. It's a feel good movie that anyone can watch (well, not everyone) whether drunk, stoned, tripping, sober or whatever state of mind you are in. It's been a long time since I laughed so hard at a movie.

Harold & Kumar (John Cho & Kal Penn) are 2 of the most unique characters I've ever seen on film. They're whole life revolves around 2 things: getting stoned and eating fast food. While they go on an adventure to White Castle, the scenarios that they encounter on the way seem to bond them closer and make them into stronger individuals instead of the dumb stoner image that people imagine when they hear "pothead" or "stoner". They are probably the two smartest and intelligent stoners I've ever seen on film. Who woulda thought that Harold has a real job, a decent car, and can be responsible while Kumar can do anything involving medical situations? Simply brillant.

Do not miss this film. You will certainly find something to laugh at while watching it. Sure, the plot is stupid and couldn't get any more bland. But it's clever how it's pulled off. Recommended to anyone

Summary: funny and a good time
Review: my movie reviews from theBijou.net
movie reviews by a fan, not a critic!

if you forget what its like to have a crazy weekend, or even if you dont, you should watch herald and kumar go to white castle. but its not for the uptight. there is drug use, sexual situations, and nudity. 2 guys on a quest. A quest to go to White Castle and satisfy their late night hunger. On the way they have to find the place, put up with the local jerks, meet girls, find an escaped cheetah, and avoid the cops....sound like fun?
it is. rent or buy

Summary: DON'T PASS ON THIS ONE! SNATCH IT UP TODAY!
Review: One of the funniest movies I've seen in recent memory. HAROLD & KUMAR GO TO WHITE CASTLE is one few and far between comedy in which you actually laugh out loud, several times even. There are many classic moments like "battle sh*ts", "riding the cheetah" and "Neil Patrick Harris snorting cocaine off a hot babes @ss" ..among others. John Cho & Kal Penn have more chemistry than a chemistry set. They are hilarious together. I hope that director Danny Leiner is planning a HAROLD & KUMAR GO TO AMSTERDAM sequal. It's a must! The DVD features some interesting extras. "The Art of Fart" follows one of the films sound effects members around in truck stops hoping to record the perfect farts and diarrhea sounds for the "battle sh*ts" scene. Also there are some deleted scenes & outtakes. Plus interviews with the films two leads Cho & Penn. Beyond an R rating this DVD is the EXTREME UNRATED version. Check it out, it's a real good time.

Summary: "Way better than I thought it would be"
Review: That is what almost everybody who sees this movie says. Yes, there is a link to "Dude, Where's My Car", but it is actually funny. First off you, you will actually like the characters and feel for them. Some of the jokes are very "Half Baked" like. There are so many quotes and memorable scenes in this movie. Lots of cameos, best of which is Neil Patrick Harris (Doogie Houser) playing himself. The best part about that is he is making fun of himself the entire time.

Easily as funny as the first American Pie.

Summary: GOOD FOR ONE THING
Review: This movie is good for selling White Castle burgers,
and that's it. A couple of parts were funny, but
most of it sucked! (Not recommended!)
