Summary: A funny movie
Review: The plot is weak but the movie is funny. Stupid, but funny. The last scene is the best in the whole movie. A nice addition to Super Troopers.

Summary: 5 stars for 5 funny guys
Review: This movie is the shiznit. I know everyone says Super Troopers was better, but that's because they didn't think this would be a different movie. I like the way they were able to make such big character transitions for this. It really amazes me how people didn't like it because it was also a horror movie. They stepped into a territory that many can unsuccessfully stay in, but I think they really pulled it off. The characters and dialogue were pretty funny, especially Machete Phil. That scene surprised me. I couldn't believe what I had seen. These guys are the funniest group since Kids in the Hall and Trey Parker and Matt Stone. No movie scares me much anymore so I watched this to laugh, see some gore, and also, unexpectedly, see the diversity of characters they can play. I'm really surprised with Kevin Heffernan. He seemed natural as Farva, and then he is very smart in this one. I liked Putman because his humor was more of a subtle thing than blatantly obvious like the others. Him and Jenny was a hilarious running joke. The killer surprised me. I didn't expect it to be him. He really creeped me out. This movie is definitely worth a purchase, and also people should watch it like they have never seen Super Troopers. It can still be very entertaining. I hope to work with Broken Lizard one day. They inspired me to pursue my dream of making movies, one I had been debating over for a long time. Thanx guys if u ever read this review. Keep up the good work and I hope to see your next movie pretty soon.

Summary: Club Dread is Noice
Review: This movie is the tops in the Broken Lizard family. While this movie may not apppeal to all age groups, and all critics of horror flicks, this is a downright funny movie, with some priceless scenes. The Pac Man drinking game is sure to become a classic!

Summary: Poor excuse for a movie.
Review: To the people giving this movie 5 stars; How are you Paul, Jay, Kevin, Erik, and Steve?. I can't say enough bad things about this movie. I had to watch Super Troopers to cleanse the palate afterwards. And I kept an open mind, mind you. The two stars are for the gratuitous nudity (Penelope especially) and Bill Paxton's hilarious turn as an angry phony.

Summary: A good version of the horror - comedy. Not a Scream, but...
Review: very much a quality Broken Lizard production. These guys know how to entertain.

There are the word jokes, cultural jokes (like playing Pac-Man in a maze), drug jokes and of course sex jokes. Plus, there is some splendid shots of gorgeous women in varying states. They cast Brittany Daniels and Jordan Ladd perfectly as new icons for a new generation of teens.

The only downside is that Jay Chandresekar's character isn't very entertaining and is a dull sad sack - unlike Heffernan's delightfully dull-witted Farva from Super Troopers. But, I guess he was directing etc.

A good movie. Def worth a rental and DVD buy. Go see it in the theatres if you're a fan of the light horror-comedy movies. It's not a Scream (or Stab!), or a Scary Movie, but it isn't meant to be. It's got a good end and it takes you on a funny and thrilling ride.

Broken Lizards makes a 2nd good movie. *3 stars* Worth a trip!

Summary: Club Dreadful
Review: Watching "Club Dread" I found it hard to believe that this movie was made by the same Broken Lizard comedy team that gave the world "Super Troopers."

While the latter film was one of the funniest comedies of the last five years, "Club Dread" is so spectacularly unfunny that it makes you wonder if "Super Troopers" was a fluke.

At its core, "Dread" seems a parody of slasher flicks in general and of "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer" in particular. The killer on the loose at a tropical resort plotline is lifted directly from that earlier film.

But the movie fails to elicit even a single chuckle. Part of the problem is that many scenes are way too violent for a comedy. In fact, the killings are generally played straight and are bloody enough to fit right into any modern slasher film. At the same time, all the lame jokes keep things from getting too serious.

The end result is a movie that is schizophrenic in that it seems to want to work as a horror film AND as a comedy. Ultimately, "Club Dread" is too violent to be funny and too much of a wanna-be yukfest to be truly frightening.

In trying to achieve two goals, the movie fails at both.

The performances of actor/director Jay Chandrasekhar and the other members of Broken Lizard lack the anarchic glee and razor sharp wit that made "Super Troopers" a "must see and then see again" classic. Bill Paxton plays an always-sloshed Jimmy Buffet-style singer whose resort is the center of the action. One wonders if he wasn't drunk out of his mind, when he agreed to this role.

I have high hopes for Broken Lizard and hopefully their third film outing will see them on surer footing. As for this movie, a better title would be "Club Dreadful."

Summary: Very excited...
Review: When I first heard of Super Troopers I just wrote it off as another slapstick comedy. Although I enjoy slapstick, I forgot about it and didn't bother to see it in theatres. Oh how wrong I was. When I finally did see it on video I was amazed at how funny these guys were. The work so well together and I don't think I have ever laughed that much during a movie. These guys are some of the funniest men to ever be on screen. Even the commentary on the DVD is hilarious. I watched the movie three times in a row just to hear all the commentaries. That being said, I am very excited for Club Dread and hope I can laugh just as much as I did during Super Troopers. Even if the movie is crap (doubtful since Jay C. is running the show again) these guys are comic geniuses and will still be some of my favorites. As long as they (Broken Lizard) stay indie and don't let anyone take over, Broken Lizard will continue to entertain us for years.

Summary: AHAHAHAHH This is Super troopers mixed with scary movie
Review: wow this movie is the best and most funny movie i have ever seen. The characters are all halarius, every single one of them. The certain lines they say are funny. This is like scary movie, but alot more funny and has more hot chicks. YOu should see super troopers before you see this because you can see the outrageous difference in the characters. Farva is a nice, and hip guy, with long hair. The characters are so funny. SEE THIS MOVIE, IT IS SO HALARIUS.
