Summary: "Fast Times" anyone?
Review: There is something about this movie that immediately reminds me of Fast Times at Ridgemont High(1982, Sean Penn, et. al)...sort of a late 90's, perverted recreation of it. It blends the day-to-day culture and situations of typical American high school students with overwhelming hilarity; at the same time covering subject matter such as "commitment," "sex," and "true love." I have to say that American Pie was just a bit more hilarious than Fast Times at Ridgemont High, while at the same time putting old 80's social issues in the background (i.e. unwanted pregnancies, infidelity) and replacing it with "pseudo-serious" issues. It is a perfect reflection of direct and to-the-point 90's comedy and far-out fun.

Summary: Unrated!
Review: Don't believe the hype. The unrated version you couldn't see in theaters? Please! About 1 minute of 1 pair of breasts is the only nudity in this film. Funny at times, but if you think you're going to see something that wasn't in the theater you'll be really disappointed.

Summary: This is the best veiw
Review: Let me tell you, this movie is my bible. Me being a tennager, this movie definately portrays teens accurately, and oh yeah, it feels exactly like warm apple pie.

Summary: One of the best DVD in my collection . . .
Review: It's one of the coolest DVD in my collection, the movie is great, the bonus features are cool (Outtakes, Music Highlights, Previews of other movies). As a french canadian, I was also happy that they included a french audio track (but it's way better in english trust me!)

Summary: Unrated Version just doesn't score as high...
Review: Don't get me wrong- American Pie is a great movie...a perfect Porky's for the 90's...HOWEVER...the "Unrated Version" isn't worth the extra hype. It's supposedly "raunchier" than the original, but it's not. The only difference I found was a slight difference in the infamous "pie scene." I won't ruin it for you, but I will tell you that I liked to version that made the movie better than the supposed "raunchy" version. I still can't figure out what was "raunchier" about it. Do yourself a favor and get the rated version. Don't buy into the hype.

Summary: Yawn
Review: I don't see why people are raving about American Pie. It's pretty much a yawn. Add two stars if you are 15 years old, but then you shouldn't be watching it. So, I don't know for whom this movie was intended. It's an R-rated teen flick with a few sophomoric toilet gags. On the plus side, the movie did not try to preach moral values or the evils of sex; the situations were more true to life and the acting was pretty good. On the bad side, it lacked creativity and original humor except for a few chuckles here and there. It would have been funnier if they edited it down to half an hour.

Summary: Classic
Review: This is such a classic movie, it's definitely one of the best teen movies of the 90's, which is something considering the glut of teen movies during that time period. If you're a teenager with a pulse you'll love it.

Summary: Unrated/Rated - A Gimmick
Review: Sorry folks, the unrated version of the American Pie DVD is barely noticible. It is the same price as the rated version, so naturally you'd buy the unrated version. Well, it still didn't effect my viewing of one of the funniest teen comedies to date. We can all relate to the temptation of the pie. The cast remains likable although there are some questionable moments when they can be a little too crude. However, the comedic highjinks will be right up your alley. If you liked There's Something About Mary, then you'll want a piece of the Pie.

Summary: THE BEST MOVIE OF THE MILLENIUM!
Review: When I first bought this movie, I expected it to be all about a guy and his pie. But it was a lot more than that. It starts with a pact between four friends to get laid before prom, but evolves into a romantic comedy about relationships, love and yes, SEX. If you're girls, you'll love to see how the guys change into HOTTIES with a romantic approach, and if you're a guy, you'll love to see how the good looking girls finally put out in addition to the crude humor (not to mention the nude scene with Nadya). And if you're past your teens, you're going to love the trip down memory lane back to your high school life. If you're planning on watching this with your parents, think again. Like the actor says, high school is R rated, not G, so plan on watching this with your friends or by yourself, because there might be some akwardness with your parents. Overall, this movie gats five stars: five for the hilarious COMEDY, five for the creative PLOT, five for the perfectly shot SEX SCENES, and five for the sweet ROMANCE of it all. No matter who you are, I have to recommend this movie to you, it's a must have for everyone!
