Summary: Good Flick
Review: This movie was good. I liked it very much. It was about some kids who wanted to, you know, do it, because if you don't do it then you're not cool. There were lots of scenes in it that would be extremely amusing to third graders. That's very funny. A guy tries to do a pie. That's also funny. But this movie is also about wholesome values and the youthful spirit that causes kids to waste their money on pathetic trash made by people who have the same kind of respect for them that a crack pimp feels for a ten dollar ho. That's also very funny.

Summary: Boring
Review: I like to see films that are shocking, insightful, new, genuinly funny or beautiful. This film is neither. I have seen both the R-rated version and the Unrated version (the fact that the latter was rated NC-17 is further proof of the MPAA's ineptitude) and both are tiresome. This being Hollywood, even the "nerds" are "hot". There are no imperfect people in this world. The film tries be offensive and gross you out; and then at the end the producers try add some morality into the film. If your going to make a film about bad-taste - have the balls to go all the way. If you are looking for gross-out comedy, try picking up a film by John Waters or Peter Jackson.

Summary: Pure boring crap at its best
Review: this has to be the most boring & predictible movie of the 20th century, and I thought "Something About Mary" was terrible, but "Pie" beat it out. It's nothing but cheap jokes, gratutitous oral sex and is demeaning towards teenage women. Doesnt compare to "Animal House" or "Porky's"

Summary: Finally, the real thing
Review: Over the years there have been dozens, maybe hundreds of high school hijinks films, most of which are sophomoric caricatures which try to outdo each other in the grossness of their cliches. American Pie has run away from its pubescent pack by capturing high school the way it really is. Four years of frustrated preoccupation with sex; what it is, who's done it and how to get it. This movie is hilarious, mostly because it depicts the essence of what it is like to be wrestling with the confusion of emerging sexuality while trying to convince everyone else that you are cool.

Director Chris Weitz has found the right balance between sexual obsession and teenage self consciousness. The fact is no-one is as experienced as they pretend, and they're scared to death of the embarrassment it would cause if everyone knew.

The skits are mostly funny, sometimes raunchy, sometimes touching, but always right on the mark emotionally for that age group.

Jason Biggs (Jim) takes the cake (pie) when it comes to comic prowess in this film. Alyson Hannigan is priceless as the nerd girl refugee from band camp.

This film is a must see good time. Check your maturity at the front door and just enjoy.

Summary: "Porky's" for the nineties
Review: Rented this movie for the heck of it and was genuinely surprised at how funny it was. In these politically correct times, I was also surprised at the depths to which this movie plunged (and I'm not talking about the pie, either). The movie tries a little too hard at times, particularly towards the end, but if you have an open mind you will laugh extremely hard at a lot of this. God bless the Internet!

Summary: Best movie I ever saw
Review: I'm from Germany and I saw American Pie in the US last summer 4 times. I don't want to say more than that this is the best movie I ever saw! These different people with the same problem - I think anybody can identify himself with one of them. To all of you thinking about buying this tape: BUY IT!

Summary: Pure, unadulterated band camp
Review: potty brained swill. Perhaps I am being too kind. OK, I rate it two stars because I actually laughed a few times. But it's not funny, it's really sad. Predictable, gratuitous pubescent trash. But I am wasting my typing because it's obviously the level of much of the American pubic . . er. .public.

Summary: Unrated? Sure, like deez nutz are unrated!
Review: First off, this movie does NOT stand up to repeat viewings like Election or even Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Some funny parts, but it's just a mindless sex comedy (and no Fast Times encapsulated a time, and packaged it with teenage sex...two completely different things).

Second, unrated? Umm, no. You get a whole EXTRA thirty seconds or so of footage! Let me tell you, that is not worth renting this or even buying it. Of course DVD's are cool, so if you REALLY liked this movie, then buy it anyway, as you'll want to see the extra stuff. Otherwise, buy the other movies I mentioned instead.

BUYER BEWARE: Like I said, not really that much EXTRA footage.

cheers...

Summary: Pastry Fun!
Review: The definitive "Porky's" of the 1990s. Everyone can surely identify with at least one character in the movie. I have never met anyone who has done the infamous pie gymnastics......yet.

Buy it without regrets!

Summary: And one time in band camp......
Review: Man o' man, this is funny. This is the kind of movie that you get the gang over, order a pizza, and just let it loose laughing. A sure crowd pleaser. The plot of high school boys trying to get laid is great. Funny scenes and characters. Great for the collection!
