Summary: Good Movie
Review: This is a real Tim Burton style comedy, even though he had nothing what so ever to do with this movie. See this, you'll like it.

A Short and Crappy Review by dylan.

Summary: MEMORABLE AND TIMELESS CLASSIC
Review: This is an absolutely brilliant camp classic. The characters are charming and memorable, especially the understated Morticia, the swashbuckling Gomez, the stone-faced Wednesday and the villain, Dr Greta Penterschloss. The double entendres and ironic lines have since become part of the vocab of lovers of the Addams Family movies. Other interesting characters include the helpful "Thing," the weird butler and Fester, of course, while at the family ball Cousin It and the twins Flora and Fauna really impressed. The funniest scenes include the school play, the séance, the first visit of Fester to the vaults (where they watch an old home movie) and the psychotherapy session: "love, hate, hate, love - ze thoughts they bubble und collide." I have made a habit of watching this one at least once a year. It's a timeless classic, with great gags, excellent acting and a culture of its own. No wonder it has become a cult classic.

Summary: Did you love the TV series? You'll love the movie!
Review: This is one of those rare movies with perfect casting! The movie stays true to the spirit of the TV show. The only complaint (though it's not really a complaint....), this is one of those movies that just screams to have lots of outtakes included on the DVD!

Summary: a good comedy with a small twist of horror
Review: This movie is a classic. The acting along with everything else is good. The film is a little dark but overall is worth viewing or even owning for that matter.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Goulish and Funny at the same time
Review: This movie is fairly faithful to the Adams Family comic strip and esacpes the more camppy elements that the television show had. Look closely at the next door neighbor who lives across the street from the Adams Mansion. The actor is Paul Benedict, who played Mr. Bentley on the Jeffersons.

Summary: This Movie Rules (Not Unlike Anjelica Huston's Preformance)
Review: this movie roxx my soxx! its so funny!! anjelica huston and raul julia make a stunning pair as gomez and morticia. its so funny seeing the to totally in love, they can barely keep their hands off each other. wednesday and pugsley have balls torturing each other, which is half the fun. this movie will have you laughing your pants off.
personally, i think wednesday stole the show. the fight scene in the play had me laughing for eternity. the blood kept gooshing out and spraying the front row...lol.
mind you, this movie was originally based for the original cartoons mde by charles addams, which is why the movie's a bit darker. but, they still kept some elements from the 1960s tv show. the french, the passion, and cousin itt. but, fester becomes gomez's brother (he was originally morticia's uncle). although it can never rekindle the flame between carolyn jones and jown astin, i still loved the movie. in a different sense, its still funny. u gotta see this!!

Summary: Tim Burton did an excellent job with this one
Review: Tim burton's vision of the characters from the old-monied, aristocratic family was superb and hit it right on the spot. Not continuing the original metaphors these characters played would be a dissapointment. The most recent TV series flopped because they failed to capture the character of the family. In the most recent TV series, Gomez was made into a bungling idiot and so was everyone else, but Tim Burton's version made Gomez the a man of the world, a careless aristocrat and a charming debonaire, sort of a dark version of Red Butler from Gone with the Wind, Morticia, the mysterious seductress, a classier version of Elvira. Wendy was the silent misunderstood psycho, and pugsley, the simplistic sadist who always gets outwitted by his deep and sinister sister. Lurch plays the ever faithful and dutiful butler and the architecture and the richness of the Victorian house they lived in was a character in the movie in itself. My suggestion is to buy the movie not just for its entertainment value but also for the amount of depth and vision the director put into creating this masterpiece. A good comparison would be the superman movie. Christopher Reeve played the best superman and after him, no one could live up to it anymore. Just like the Addams family, remaking it with different character personalities would be a complete and utter failure.

Summary: THE ADDAMS FAMILY!
Review: TIRED of movies based on old television shows being bombs? Well, weep no more my lady! "The Addams Family" is not only better than the television show, it is also almost as good as the original Chas. Addams cartoons from the New Yorker! And that is PRETTY GOOD, people! See RAUL JULIA as Gomez! See ANJELICA HUSTON as Morticia! THRILL as CHRISTINA RICCI steals every scene as Wednesday! And then there is CHRISTOPHER LLOYD! Is he Uncle Fester, or is he not? That is the question! Clearly somebody wants to get their hands on the fabulous Addams family fortune! Not only that, but the SEQUEL is pretty good too! FUN for the WHOLE FAMILY and you do not even need to wait for Halloween to enjoy it!
