Summary: Buy the original, this is terrible.
Review: The original starring Jack Lemmon is a truly brilliant film. I was ashamed for Steve Martin at this poor attempt.

Summary: Pretty Good
Review: This film is an attempt to revive the Goldie Hawn/Steve Martin 'House Sitter' magic, and it works quite well.

The nightmare trip to New York is great, and John Clesse, almost in Basil Fawlty mode,is a hoot as the high-class hotel manager by day,and a high-kicking transvestite by night! (Now what would Sybil say! )

Goldie is magic,as always and Steve his usual dead-pan self.

Worth a look if you are a fan of 'House Sitter','Fawlty Towers' or the original movie.

Summary: Another Hit For The Dynamic Duo!
Review: This is another hit for the Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin. They are a great team and seem to know what the other is thinking at all times. The scene from Central Park was hilarious. This movie can't be beat especially if you're a Goldie or Steve fan.

Summary: A well made comedy.
Review: A movie like this goes a long way to show that experience counts for a lot in acting business. What would normally have been a nothing-out-of-the-ordinary funny movie is elevated to unusual height by the excellent teamplay of the two leads, Martin and Hawn and Cless as the crossdressing hotel manager. Without ever trying to steal each others show they each contribute to what must rate as one of the most hiarious movies ever made. The story itself, elderly but still youthfull couple has finally time for each other and they don't really know what to do now is even preserved throughout the movie and doesn't get lost like it usually does in comedies. And a continues flow of jokes keeps the pace to the very end.

Summary: It is really a BAD joke...
Review: This remake will do absolutely nothing for the careers of Martin and Hawn, because they are the main responsables for dropping the ball in this lousy remake, that makes you wanna cry, not laugh, so bad directed it is!

Summary: The original was far better
Review: Steve Martin, Goldie Hawn and John Cleese. What could be a better cast for a comedic plot? Good question. Yet this film just never quite hits on all eight cylinders.

John Cleese and the running sex gag was pretty pitiful. He's got the talent to be really and truly funny. He doesn't need to rely on the sorry schtick (sp?) of being a guy dressed in lady's undergarments.

Hawn and Martin and the sex counseling scene was just embarrasing. This, sadly, is NOT a movie for the whole fam.

Yet it does have many funny moments. Just put the kids out of the room.

The original movie with Jack Lemmon was hilarious. No inappropos sex jokes, no drag queens - just good clean fun.

Skip the remake and watch the original.

Summary: The Out of Towners
Review: This movie was good for a few laughs, but eventually you notice that this is the type of plot which is very short yet is filled up with lots of crazy things just to make the time go bye. Quite good though, i guess it is worth seeing.

Summary: Hawn and Martin shine in this fun amusing flick
Review: I LOVE THE FILMS OF STEVE MARTIN AND GOLDIE HAWN! I've watched this movie 3 times and each time I noticed more things to love in it! I love Goldie's character. It is full of witty lines like, "you're just hungry. i'll find you a cracker and you'll be filled with hope again" Hawn and Martin just glow together, I first saw them paired in the hilarious movie Housesitter. I would highly recommend this film to anyone who likes the stars and fun comedies

Summary: Mediocrity in all it's glory!
Review: All I can say about this movie is that it's...mediocre. It's not really funny, with a couple chuckles and smiles here and there, and the actors play characters that you can't help but hate. Steve Martin is, okay, but I've seen him in funnier roles. Goldie Hawn's character was showered with so much stupidity and idiocy that she became annoying and at times, unbearable. John Cleese dancing in drag did nothing for me, and it wasn't funny. "The Out of Towners" is not a terrible movie, I just didn't really care enough about it to make a real judgement. My friend liked it and bought it, so I laughed sometimes for his benefit. I thought about how much money he spent on it too, $30 to be exact, and thought that this movie didn't deserve to have that much money shelled out on it. I can't come up with a real opinion of this movie, only that it should win an award for most mediocre film of the year!

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: No words to describe this utterly terrible movie.
Review: Like I said, no words to describe it. All I can come up with is that it stinks. It's terrible. Steve Martin can do better than this movie. Don't waste any time to see this movie. If you want laughs see Galaxy Quest.
