Rating: Summary: LOL ... just LOL :) Review: This movie has been an old family favourite for as long as I can remember - well since 1986 at least! If you're not too good with complex storylines, "re-LAX" :) This story line is about as simple as writing your own name - a kid and his mates take the day off from school. With that unravels a series of HALARIOUS sequences, and for Formulae 1 fans - there's a Firarri! The most amusing aspect of the film in my opinion, is probably the facial expressions - they are FANTASTIC! And the one-liners are classic - beeting the tooshes off these other so-called comedies. Yeah, it's alot of fun, a lot of mischief and alot of laughs - a great night in! "OOooh YEEEAH"! :)
Rating: Summary: Very Funny and Very Entertaining. Review: One of the best teen movies of the eighties. Ferris Bueller's Day Off is definately everything you want out of a teen flick. Matthew Broderick is not one of my favorite actors but he definately delivers the smooth slacker role like no other in this movie. Jennifer Grey does really good as the P.O'd sister. The movie always makes me laugh and that is how I rate comedies. One of the best. I highly reccomend it.
Rating: Summary: "Oh Yeah..." Review: While an older movie filmed in the mid 80's, Ferris Beuller's Day Off is still a classic and a favorite by many to this day. Featuring stars like Mattew Broderick, Alan Ruck and Jennifer Grey, the storyline is one that any teen can relate to. Skipping school, being cool and living a leisurely life are the motto's of this dream come true movie for any high school student. By far one of Matthew Broderick's best movies, not only does this movie that show class skipping highschoolers how it's done, the music is great too. Be sure to check out the movie and its soundtrack. Five very big stars for this classic film.
Rating: Summary: BULLER STANDS THE TEST OF TIME Review: Like a soda pop left open all night, Bueller seems to have lost its effervescence over time. Sure, Matthew Broderick is still appealing as the perennial truant, Ferris, who fakes his parents out and takes one memorable day off from school. Jeffrey Jones is nasty and scheming as the principal who's out to catch him. Jennifer Grey is winning as Ferris's sister (who ends up making out in the police station with a prophetic vision of Charlie Sheen). But there's a definite sense that this film was of a particular time frame: the '80s. It's still fun, though. There's Ferris singing "Twist and Shout" during a Chicago parade, and a lovely sequence in the Art Institute. But don't get it and expect your kids to love it the way you did. Like it or not, it's yours alone. --Keith Simanton SHUT UP KEITH BULLER STANDS THE TEST OF TIME
Rating: Summary: Ferris Day Review: This is the movie that covers that one day you would love to skip school. Ferris takes a day off a school and makes every one believe that he is horribly ill. He takes with him his girl friend and his best friend through an insane one day adventure breaking all of the rules. Humorous one liners and some great moments in this movie.
Rating: Summary: Ferris Buller's day off is a films you remeber forever Review: John Huges is a kind of man child. They way he makes teen movies you would think he was one. In the 80's Huges invented the "teen" movie with films such as Breakfast Club, Sixteen candels, Pretty in pink and Wierd Science. Hughes is the most "Feel good" writer/directors of 80's and 90's he also wrote Vcation, Mr. Mom, The great Outdooors, Only the lonley and Home Alone. And when he was not making Teen movies he was directing films like She's having a baby, Uncle Buck, and Planes, Trains and automobiles. Huges has a love for the American family and it shows in all his films. The last so called teen film he made was 1986's Ferris Buller's day off, a film that touches my heart and still makes me laugh to this day. Its sad because teen movies now of days are filled with sex, drugs, and bad language. Films like Ferris Buller are not made any more, and thats what makes this movie so special. The film stars Matthew Broderick in his best role of his career, he is one of the most likable charecters in movie history. The 80's were filled with great "feel good" movies but Hughe's Buller remains the my favorite. Ferris Buller's day off is one of those films you remeber forever.
Rating: Summary: Ferris buller is one of those movies youll remeber FOREVER Review: John Hughes is a man child. He writes movies about teenagers so well that you would think he was one. Films like Breakfast club, Wierd Science, Sixteen candles, Pretty in pink each deal with teen problems school, sex, and innocence. Hughes is a great writer his films just make you feel good. Just think he wrote Vacation, Mr Mom, The great outdoors, Only the lonley, beethoven, and Home Alone these are all feel good movies. When he wasent directing teen movies he also directed She's having a baby, Uncle Buck, Plains, trains and automobiles. These films are about suberban American lifestyle and they are all good movies. Now comes Ferris Buller's day off a film that touches me and still makes me laugh. Its every high school kids dream, cut school with ur best friend and girlfriend and hang out in the city. Movies like Ferris Buller are not made any more, teen films now are covered with sex and bad language now of days. Ferris Buller's day off had heart and that makes all the difference. The 80's were a great decade for feel good movies Goonies, Gremlins, Ghostbusters, E.T. and BIG. But Ferris buller stands out as my favorite. Matthew Broderick steals the show, he is one of the most likable charecters in movie history. Ferris buller is one of those movies youll remeber FOREVER.
Rating: Summary: the best feel good movie ever Review: Ferris Bueller is a film worth owning in a DVD collection, not only because it is a wonderful film, but also because it is one you can see over and over again. My favorite movie.
Rating: Summary: Nostalgia Review: I've seen this movie umpteen times, and each time I feel more and more nostalgia for a bygone era that seemed simpler and more innocent. It's just a great, fun, entertaining movie that subtly manages to convey a few deep meanings about life and how it should be lived. A classic, timeless 80s flick that I'll never tire of watching.
Rating: Summary: It is not only for teenagers Review: I disagree with the poster who said this movie was for teenagers. I am 30 years old and still crack up when I see this movie. Movies are a way to escape reality and this one makes you do that and if you are in need of a laugh, this movie will do it for you. My mother loves this movie and asked for it on her Christmas wish list this past winter. She got it of corse. A++
