Summary: Funny low-brow movie
Review: I missed American Pie in the theatres, but I wasn't heartbroken about that. I didn't think I'd like the movie based on the previews, but after hearing enough people rave about it, I bought the unrated DVD. I was pleasently suprised. American Pie isn't a "classic", and it won't go down in history as a hugely influential film. But, it's funny... really funny. The plot of four teenage virgins trying to get laid before prom is ludicrous, in fact, most of the movie is. But, the story does a fine job of capturing how a teenage boy thinks and poking (pardon the pun) fun at a young man's sexual experimentation. Everyone remembers feeling they were the last virgin left on earth. I was especially fond of Eugene Levy's part as the awkward, yet extremely caring, father. The "band camp" girl is riot; we all know someone like that :-) Those that are easily offended should probably avoid this movie, as there are quite a few raunchy scenes. It isn't a "purchase" for everyone, but I think most people will find something funny about American Pie. If you don't take the plunge and buy it, at least make an effort to see it.

Summary: Rivalry Between Humors
Review: The truth is that men, women, teens, and adults find different things funny. I loved this movie. Any 18 year old teen will most likely say the same. Unfortunately, many people who are a member of the older generation will not find this movie funny, and, in some cases, offensive. If you aren't offended by sex, crude toilet humor, and a small bit of nudity you'll love this movie.

Summary: american pie is cool
Review: this was a great movie. the comedy was that of a cheap eighties movie. the story had everything that a teenager would enjoy. it had sex and comedy scenes that were great.

Summary: Um, ok
Review: Four seniors who are still virgins? Maybe the writers should check their statistics. And as for "American Pie" representing the youth of the late 90s. I don't think so. This was a lame attempt by a bunch of clueless 40+. Maybe in American Pieland. Skip it, and go watch "Fast Times..." or even "Porky's" for that matter.

Summary: American Pie...An unexpectedly pleasing serving
Review: As I waited in line for my ticket with all my friends (and was rudely carded)I was prepared to sit through yet another predictable teen flick that was filled with bad acting, lame jokes, and a flimsy plot. Yet, as the movie began, one could tell that this was much more. Although the plot of this movie is nothing utterly original, the way in which it is presented, the forthright "Lets talk about sex" attitude, as opposed to having a movie about sex and not really coming out and saying it, is refreshing. Also, the acting in this movie, although not of oscar-worthy proportions, is commendable. Their expiriences with sex range from a deep meaningful expirience, a bizzare Mrs. Robinson-esqe affair, and one poor guy being used by a flute-toting band geek. There are some hysterically funny parts to this movie, as well as some really really gross parts which are funny as well, most notably, new uses for baked goods and a contaminated glass of beer. Although I wouldn't exactly call this movie a classic, I would recommend it. Don't think about it too much, don't analyze it too much, just sit back and prepare to be amused.

Summary: Movie of the Year
Review: This was the funniest movie of the year. It shows how teenagers grow up thinking about sex in a comedy way. With the parental sides of it also. I saw it Twice in the Theaters and couldnt wait for the video release. Once I heard about the Unrated version It made it even better. Absolutely the movie of the year and the best in a long time. Has nothing to do with "Something About Mary" It is an all time original.

Summary: American Pie is great
Review: I would consider this movie a classic because it is frankly very realistic. My friends are very much like these characters and underneath all the gross-out gags is a great story any one can relate to. Highly recommended.

Summary: lame and insipid, i'm worried about all these 4 star reviews
Review: This was a truly lame movie. There are no laughs here, becauyse the sophomoric high jinks are so clumsily scripted and unbelievable. To have the character sleep with his friends mom and put "Mrs Robinson" is not funny, its lame, and it steals from a really great coming of age movie.

I'm disappointed to see how many people not only tolerated this film, but embraced it. To say its the POrky's of the 90s is not a compliment as far as I'm concerned..A Christmas Story on the other hand, thas a funny movie. I can not imagine someone buying this film and watching it repeatedly, its just not funny.

South Park, Office Space, Being John Malcovich, The Graduate, Airplane, This Is Spianl Tap, these are funny movies, not American Pie--believe me--you can skip it!

Summary: American Pie- A masterpiece for all teenagers
Review: Let it be said that while it may be hard to make a movie for teenagers, this one hits the ticket. It focuses smartly on sex, drugs, and alchol, some of the things teenagers can be affectred by. If you see only one movie this year, make sure it's American Pie

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: rehash of Porky's
Review: This teen film makes the obligatory reference to Shakespeare--this time to Henry the Fourth, Part One, in a class discussion led by an Asian-American teacher. (Theere's a battle over Shakespeare in Porky's 2. For other references, see Never Been Kissed, Jawbreaker, The Rage: Carrie 2, and 10 things I Hate About You.) Unlike Risky Business, this film does not offer anything by way of an interesting account of boy teen angst over getting laid for the first time. Another overhyped disappointment. If you really want something sexually explicit (this film isn't), go rent a porn.
