Summary: Slice of Pie
Review: American Pie is a throwback to the classic teen films of the 80's with the gross-out, raunchy humor of the 90's mixed in. The film follows the attempts of four friends to lose their virginity by prom night of their senior year in high school. Hardly an original plot, but the actors all give refreshingly honest performances and rise above what could be characatures of teenagers. There are some gross but hilarious scenes including sex with an apple pie, drinking tainted beer and reaction to drinking a laxative. Jason Biggs, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Allyson Hannigan, Sean William Scott and rest of the young actors all give hilarious performances, but it veteran actor and SCTV alum, Eugene Levy who steals every scene he's in as Jim's understanding dad. American Pie is a funny movie that will appeal to all ages.

Summary: NOT TOO BAD
Review: Okay I am not big on juvenile humour. But there were parts of this film that were just too funny to ignore or not laugh at. I particularly enjoyed all the parts with Eugene Levy (Jason Biggs's dad in the movie), who is always hilarious. I don't think there is a lot I can say about this film because everyone has already seen it. I can say though that I would not watch this with... my parents (even though I am an adult). The humour, while funny, can be embarrassing. But you will nevertheless laugh unless you are a serious prude and easily offended. Which obviously I am not.

Summary: Unrated version not worth any extra..
Review: I bought the unrated version thinging i was going to see wild scenes that could not have been included in the theratical release. Two scenes, thats it.... both early in the movie, were the only ones different.

Still it is a good movie that had all of us laughing again even though we knew the next scenes. If the unrated version is any more money stick to the orginal version.

Summary: MILF MILF MILF MILF MILF!!!!
Review: This is one great movie. It is literaly made for everyone; comedy for people who want to laugh, romance for people who want to feel for the characters, nudity for the guys..., and a lesson for the parents. A great cast, story, and funny moments to make this movie a part of your DVD library.

Summary: Good Ol' Boys Seeking Sex--Not Whiskey and Rye!"
Review: Four high school seniors make a pact to lose their virignity before college.
This is the premise for "American Pie," a phenominally successful comedy that's long on raunch and short on laughs.
"American Pie" has its moments, though. The scene in which Jason Biggs attempts to make love to an apple pie is hilarious; the cheesy "Arabian" rock band performing "Midnight At The Oasis" at the prom is sensational and what normal male between the ages of 12 and 75 could complain about Shannon Elizabeth's bedroom scene?
This new "ulitimate edition" DVD is a bit of a sham, since there's little difference between the 'unrated' version and the print released commercially and the special features (deleted scenes, outtakes, commentaries) are by no means worthy of TWO discs!
Essentially, "American Pie" is a touch of soft corn porn masquerading as a teen comedy and as Paul Mc Cartney once sang: "what's wrong with that?"

Summary: The difference between the R and unrated versions
Review: The difference between the R and unrated versions is 15 seconds of the pie humping scene. You can decide whether its worth it to purchase it just by reading that.

Summary: Not that funny, but still a lot of fun
Review: Maybe it was just the rated edition, but I didn't find this peonage to the teenage pursuit of sex as all that shocking. In 'Pie', a bunch of high-school seniors lament their virginity and, with only three weeks to the senior prom, decide to pursue a crash course that will land them a sexual conquest. Spurred by the improbable carnal triumph of resident dweeb Chuck 'the Shermanator' Sherman, our heroic group resort to drastic measures not to be left behind by graduation. Our heroes come from all walks of HS life ' with Jason Biggs as the brilliant if sexually clue-less senior, Chris Scott and Seann William Scott as the jocks (with Scott's jock being the one with an undiscovered sensitive side), as well as a dark brainy type (wh may not even be interested in sex) and another kid (who looks suspiciously like Adrian Zmed) who isn't sure if what he wants is sex or love. Given their diverse backgrounds (can you say 'Breakfast Club') it's not clear why these guys have anything to do with each other ' all these guys have in common is sexual frustration and some unexplained need to perpetually drive each other into ever deeper bits of mass humiliation. The humiliating moments themselves aren't all that shocking ' 'There's something About Mary' had more surprises than this ' and by the time we've gotten past one particular second of embarrassment, we're already on our way for another. Even the famous scene involving sex and baked goods comes and goes before you know it. There are few surprises here, and the end shows a surprisingly touching resolution (admittedly one that shows teenagers having sex, something I thought was illegal). Before then, the flick is still a lot of fun, with Biggs being the lightning rod for most of what goes wrong, and long-time SCTV favorite Eugene Levy getting in some good bits as Biggs' befuddled father. By the end, the film is fun, but not terribly funny. Take it out when you're in the mood for something very light.
