Summary: This is not the English Patient.
Review: After convincing my ex-wife that we should see this classic, I was forced to conceed the next 4 choices her way. I loved this movie, but was hard pressed to argue why or to explain why Chris and Andy made me laugh. David Letterman's cameo is still his finest cinematic moment. Please Chris, more movies! Have Letterman finance them; He's loaded and owes you!!

Summary: A Personality Test
Review: All I can say is that if I meet someone who says they didn't like this film, then I instantly know that this person is a complete idiot.

A classic master stroke of comedic genius. Populated with gems like Russ Tamblin as "Chalky" the shark man ("Half man, half shark equals one complete gentleman") or the flying talking cupcake, this film never fails to astonish and delight.

Summary: I struggled to watch the whole movie
Review: and I had to give up. I got what they were trying to do and I didn't think it was funny. I like Chris Elliot but not in this movie.

Summary: Great Diversion
Review: Anybody who thinks that a movie with the phrase "honey-dipped willy pumps" is taking itself seriously, is investing way too much emotion in this movie. This movie isn't Citizen Kane and never tries to be. But this movie is a good choice when it's time to lay in front of the TV and turn off your brain for 90 minutes..or in Cabin Boys case 80 minutes! David Letterman selling sock-monkeys, Ricki Lake as a figurehead, and Bongwaters Ann Magnuson make great cameos.

Summary: 1 of the top 1 movies ever
Review: Cabin Boy is simply one of the greatest movies ever made. Incredible casting, witty dialogue, wonderful cinematography. An epic account of a young man's journey to find true love and happiness. Chris Elliot deserved an Oscar for this one...make that two Oscars.

Summary: Worst movie I've ever seen...no contest
Review: Cannot believe people actually liked this! Bad filming, ridiculous unconvincing dialogue and acting, and an even worse plot. It's completely random: a talking cupcake in the sky? A claymation ice-monster? I can see how it could be entertaining for the 4-7 audience, but no self-respecting 12-year old could seriously enjoy it. If inanity=brilliance, then here's your movie.

Summary: If you have an I.Q. over 10 look away right now!
Review: Chris Elliot follows the classic path of the hero. There is not much room for improvement.

Summary: Pure Genius
Review: Chris Elliott is by far one of the funniest guys in film. I have been a fan of his ever since he was on David Letterman back in the early days. This movie is so bizarre, yet so funny. I love this movie. I can't really explain it, but it is just so surreal. From the look of the movie, to the innocence and depravity of the plot. This would be progressive comedy, I think. Elliott is so underrated! Buy this and enjoy a creative little jaunt on a twistedly wierd sea.
