Summary: Future events such as these will affect YOU in the future.
Review: This is my favorite movie for so many reasons, that I don't have the coherence of thought to express them all. So, here are my top ten reasons why you should buy Ed Wood (right now!):

10. Filmed in gorgeous Black and White
9. An Oscar-winning performance by Martin Landau
8. A "should have won an Oscar" performance by Johnny Depp
7. A gigantic fake rubber octopus
6. Mariachis
5. Johnny Depp wearing multiple dresses.
4. Black booties
3. Angora sweaters
2. It's the best film ever made about what movies can mean to us
1. There's not one bad line, or false note, or miscast performance. It's perfect!

Summary: IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!!!
Review: I can't believe it took this long to get this master piece on DVD. My only hope is that they waited this long in order to produce a ton of high quality bonus features. As for the movie, read the other posts, this movie is incredible!

Review: This is a "Must See" for anyone who is a Johnny Depp fan .It contains an excellent cast of characters including Martin Landau as Bela Lugosi and Sarah Jessica Parker as "Poodle". With his secret angora fedish Ed Wood sets out to be a big name producer like Orson Wells his idle.As he is told on his first interveiw with a studio executive "I don't hire directors with burning desires to tell their storys" Shoot what ever crap you want just make sure it is three reels long and that is exactly what he does! Don't cut yourself short it's a riot SEE THIS MOVIE! You will Enjoy it.*****

Summary: "It's all about the big picture!"
Review: Wow. What an amazing, lyrical homage from Tim Burton. Known for his love of oddball characters and misfits, Burton turns his empathic eye toward the man who's been roundly labeled "The Worst Director of All Time". But in Wood's mind, played with sincerity and humor by Johnny Depp, he is a true artist because he actually believes that his films are good. A refreshing breeze of naivete in today's world of hyper-bloated blockbusters, sequels and video-game-to-screen eye candy.

And Martin Landau's Bela Lugosi is by turns invigorating and touching as the horror icon made human, and one of the first Hollywood has-beens from the talkies era. Burton depicts his sad descent into addiction and obscurity as more of a horror than anything Lugosi ever committed to the silver screen.

Excellent performances by all; my favorite being Bill Murray as the deliciously effete Galactic Ruler in "Plan 9". Howard Shore once again delivers an astonishingly poetic and moving musical score, proving that he is one of the most versatile and gifted composers since John Williams.

I recently had the pleasure of watching this film on the big screen, confirming my intention to add "Ed Wood" to my DVD library.

Summary: This is must own
Review: I can't believe that this is the first time this movie is available on DVD. This is the sort of movie that can be watched over and over again. Tim Burton really does a good job on directing this movie about Ed Wood. If you have ever seen Plan 9 from Outerspace then you are familar with the "worst" director of all time. Johnny Depp is at his finest down to the angora sweater fetish. Even if you are not familar with Ed Wood, you will find this movie very enjoyable. What makes this movie even more humourous is the history behind it. Either way, this is a great edition to any dvd colletion.

Summary: Too Good
Review: The VHS is super. I read the original script and some amazingly funny scenes were edited out, sooooo, the DVD has got to be even better than the VHS, which is a great movie.

Summary: I read the original script......
Review: .....there were MANY very amusing and amazing scenes that were edited out of the original VHS. It's easy to see why this film is an Oscar winner; now with the additional footage, it should be an even more splendiferous flick.
"Ed Wood" isn't for the chronically uptight, but, if you are cool (at all) you will dig it.

Review: "Your movie? I wish it was your movie. I wish I hadn't blown every dime I ever had into making this stink bomb; and if I ever see ya again, I'llllllll kill ya!!!" Too much for words. Favorite movie? Not for everyone; though I must confess: this is my favorite movie! Would love to see more like this. Maybe in the future, Depp and cast will do a zany remake. And I sure hope ...they don't yank this DVD again from US distributers before the public gets a chance to purchase. When the release date arrives, I may just have to buy two copies.

Summary: Finally to be released on DVD!
Review: Touchstone has released the technical details on the director's cut for one of my favorite movies ever (that's right, "Director's Cut")! Here they are:

- Anamorphic Widescreen Presentation
- English Dolby Digital 5.1 Track
- Audio Commentary with Tim Burton, Martin Landau and Technical Crew
- Let's Shoot This! (Making Of) Documentary
- The Theremin (Film Score) Featurette
- Making Bela (Make-Up) Featurette
- When Carol Met Larry (Cross Dressing) Featurette
- Pie Plates Over Hollywood (Visual World of Ed Wood) Featurette
- Original Music Video Co-Directed By Tim Burton
- Original Theatrical Trailer

As I've already stated, this is probably one of my favorite films ever made and after a long wait, it's reassuring to see they're finally going to release Tim Burton's masterpiece on DVD. Why us folks in the states have had to wait so long is beyond me.

This movie is hilarious and inspiring and in fact inspired me to want to become a film-maker. The black and white is perfect for this film, Martin Landua and Johnny Depp give great performances, some scenes are just flat-out hilarious.

I encourage everybody to go out and grab this movie when it comes out (or do like me, and pre-order it). I've yet to meet a person who has watched this film and not like it!

Summary: One of my all-time favorite movies!
Review: I love this movie, and I plan to buy it on DVD (even though I own it on VHS). This is the kind of movie that I like to see Tim Burton make: small budget, artsy, dark, hilarious. Ed Wood is one of my favorite Johnny Depp characters, followed probably by his role as Hunter S. Thompson. Bill Murray also has a very entertaining small role. And, of course, who can forget Martin Landau's chilling performance as the opiate-addicted Bela Legosi, winning an Oscar in 1994 for Best Supporting Actor.

This is the movie that lead up to Burton's attempt at his own sci-fi 'B' movie "Mars Attacks", although I thought Mars was a bit of a letdown.

The humor is very dark and dry, but that's how I like it served. Definitely not a movie for everyone.

Buy this movie!!!
