Summary: A sympathetic look at a much maligned director
Review: When this film first came out, a friend and I went to see it under the impression that it was going to be a very funny movie. The ads gave the impression as such. What we saw was definitely not what we were expecting: Ed Wood is funny in parts, no doubt, but it is more of a sentimental look at Wood's life than a comedy. The directing, cinematography, and acting are all top-notch. And because of the schlocky 50's sci-fi nature of many of Wood's films, this is one of my favorite movies to watch around Halloween. Let's hope they release this on DVD.

Review: Funny, moving account of the life of Ed Wood, hailed as the worst director of all time. Although Johnny Depp is incredible in the title role and Bill Murray is an absolute hoot, Martin Landau steals the film in his Oscar-winning portrayal of Bela Lugosi. His performance is absolutely flawless. A sadly overlooked gem, "Ed Wood" is an absolute classic.

He produced several el cheapo film such as "Ed Wood's Movie" and the classicly bad "Grave Robbers From Outer Space."Tim Burton has taken the life of Edward D. Wood Jnr. and put it up on screen exactly the way it was. It's a funny, sad and very realistic insite into the life of a young man struggling for a place in the thriving film industry. This film is a classic, so don't miss it!

Review: This is one movie I like to watch over and over. A brilliant story on the life of one of Hollywoods independent directors. Tim Burtons unique ability as a director shines as always. Johnny Depp, Martin Landau and company are all superior. Ed Wood did more for science fiction than any other director of his day. The movie shows the constant struggle of a man and his dream, how ingenuity and perserverance can bring out the creativity in a man, and what Hollywood does to people. With very little money Ed created a completly different vehicle for movie making thus insuring his place in history. Tim Burtons portrail of Ed Wood should be an inspiration to independent film makers everywhere. Martin Landau gives an excellant portrail of Bela Lagosi. Very sad to see how Hollywood turned its back on a stage and screen legend and how he died broke like so many other movie greats. It took the talents of Tim Burton to tell this story.

Review: Ed Wood is as funny, and touching, a film as I have ever seen. Johnny Depp shows great skill as the title character; Martin Landau won an Academy Award for his portrayal of Bela Lugosi; every last member of the cast gives a brilliant impersonation. I would love to own this video, but cannot find it.

Review: Tim Burton is a genius. I've watched this movie over and over again, and I still can't stop laughing. But beware, once you see this film, you have to check out the "real" Ed Wood stuff, just to see if it's really that cheesy, and it is! Ed Wood just got another fan! Summary: I Can't Stop Watching This Movie!!!
Review: "Ed Wood" is one of my favorite movies of all time. It is one of the very few movies that I can watch and watch and watch and never tire. The music is outstanding and there is literally not a single bad acting role in the entire movie. EVERY SINGLE character is entertaining. Bill Murray is hilarious, Johnny Depp is likable and realistic. Even Criswell is a hoot in this tounge-in-cheek tribute to Edward D. Wood Jr. Martin Landau is superb. Five stars for Ed Wood!!! Pull the String, Pull the String!!!!!

Summary: One of my Favorite Movies of all Time
Review: What can you say about a movie that features Johhny Depp in drag and brings Dracula back from the dead? Have always loved Ed Wood's films and to see his life brought to the screen in such a realistic manner is great. Ed Wood was a genius in his own mind and that can't be all bad. Glad Landau won the Oscar for his portrayal of Bela, he was fantastic, brought tears to my eyes to think of what the Count came to in his old age, shame on Hollywood for treating him that way.
