Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Incredibly well written
Review: This is one of the most intelligently written movies i've seen in quite some time. It is about, appropriately, a writer struggling to be a writer and a regular person. The segue scenes of a local morning talk show interview are wickedly funny and Kenneth Branagh is, as ever, completely credible in his role as a struggling writer, troubled by a dog, a doppelganger, and ovulation.

Summary: Definition of "Sleeper"
Review: This movie catches you by surprise, not unlike "You Can Count On Me." As the audience, you are rewarded with a storyline that depends on (shock) the credibility and dialogue of the characters. Many/most movies these days are not strong enough to survive on characters themselves--there must be a brutal battle, a sexual conquest, a controversy, or thousands of "movie stars." You feel good after finishing the movie, and if you are like me, you want to watch the movie again immediately to enjoy the metamorphosis of Peter McGowan. Peter's wife/Forrest's "Jen-Nay" doesn't change much, but doesn't need to.

You will find the movie will tug at your emotions--I challenge you not to laugh at the conversations between Peter and his mother-in-law. In addition, the child actress in this film doesn't have a "cute" lisp, snappy lines, or anything else that sitcom life designates as "adorable." She is just an ordinary girl, and that affectation makes you enjoy her presence. The simple fact that the girl doesn't elicit an "awwww..." from moviegoers is a victory in and of itself.

Rent this movie, and more than likely you will end up buying this movie. As humans, we like to feel good and this movie will do so more than 99.9% of the movies out there.

Summary: Brilliant, Superb, What a genius. A real nice Comedy
Review: This movie is just great at all levels: story, humour, actors. They are all just great. I can't understand why the press shut it down so hardly while it is a precious stone. This movie is so under-rated. Just watch it, you won't be disappointed.
